The staff went above and beyond to make me comfortable until the ambulance arrived. In addition, they said that they would keep my doggie until necessary! Today, 8/4/26, Dr. Whitely herself called me to check up on ME, to see how I was doing!! She didn't have to do that but I very much appreciate how kind and thoughtful that was. I love how they take time to explain everything.. they do not pressure you or make you feel guilty (which I have had from other places) or bad about any decision you make in pet care. They are constantly reassuring and offering multiple options of care individualized to each pet. Everyone is always understanding and helpful ... from the front desk to the Vet. I'm supper over the top not wanting my fur babies out of my sight when they are having things done and they are always accommodating when possible to help not only my nervousness but also nervousness of the pet. The outpouring of kindness and compassion when my elderly cat declined quickly was just more than I could ask for. They way they explained in detail what was wrong providing copies of test results and X-rays without my having to beg. I'm so glad I found this place in an act of desperation... now I bring all my fur babies here! I also love they have an app to help you manage prescriptions, appointments, etc. so convenient. He discusses the treatment options, prognosis for recovery and the pain & suffering the animal might incur. As the patient's advocate, it is the responsibility of the owner to ask questions and to inquire as to treatment options. He's treated our dogs for routine check-ups, micro-chip implants, cancer, kidney ailments, arthritis and old age. When the time came to dispatch the dogs, he was compassionate and caring. He and his staff show their love of animals - it is evident in everything they do... from routine check-ups to their last day. We'll never go anywhere else!

His rejection of the responsibility after his care is the issue in question. It's like YOUR Dr telling you that he can no longer care for you becuase he has given up. It is just not fair or right. He never once suggested that the puppy was beyond medical help, not did he give any options to soothe the puppy from his suffering. Any Doctor would have made arrangements and transfer of my puppy to another facility. Just like your own Dr would. My puppy was not property, My puppy was an animal who deserved to be treated like a part of the family, Not Property. Sure, The good doctor might be on the cutting edge of vacines and routine care, but he most definetly dropped the ball on this point I raised. I would not use Dr Wilson ever....

[see the pictures in my profile] I have been genuinely impressed with the non-profit rescue, which saves dogs from shelters as well as assists owners to place their dogs. They give good descriptions of the dogs (medical, training, interactions with other animals and humans, and general character) as well as adoption expectations (requirements, timing, licensing, and fees). They make an effort to ensure the dogs go to good homes by thoroughly screening their applicants. The two women I have interacted with have been very helpful and friendly. My stepmom, an avid dog lover, who has adopted two dogs from here as well, has also always had good interactions and contributes regularly to help keep the organization going. It has actually taken me two years to take the plunge. Since filling out my application in May 2007, I have occasionally looked at the website, visited various foster sites, and even visited the pound. However, with the recent departure of my roommate's dog, I decided I would actively look again. It just happened that two weeks ago a new dog was posted who seemed to have the characteristics I was looking for. After a trip to Fremont to meet her, my new baby came home! The funniest thing being her original name was "Cracklin' Rose." [Rosie and the Border Collie Rescue of Northern California are definitely worthy of my 200th review!]

These dogs came from hard circumstances, and BC Rescue fosters put a lot of time, effort and love into turning them into adoptable pets. My Bella came equipped with leash skills, great recall and all the good manners anyone could ask for. She has been a loving companion, and I have BCRNC partly to thank for that. Can't recommend them highly enough.

My dog has been goin to Sassy Pooch for 8 years and once I adopted a second pooch I gladly took her to Albert. Now that Juan Ortega has taken over the business, I really wasn't worried one bit taking my dogs to him because he's always been a very kind, caring, friendly sidekick to Albert. Nina who took care of the appointment and put me at ease about asking Juan to use our own shampoo was super attentive!! She took massive notes - even though she knows my dogs - and really a gem. Juan Made sure to say hello when I dropped them off and when I picked them up, he made sure to personally let me know how it went for both of them even though he was very busy. I have to admit that my dogs were matted, nervous and a little stressed out given that where we had moved there were no groomers willing to take them in a regular basis. Juan did a fantastic job on my dogs. They look gorgeous. I have him the freedom to do what he needed but I also asked not to push them beyond their limits and he didn't. Evidenced by a tail on one that is still messed up (future vet visit will take care of it) and certain sensitive areas were also left alone because this particular dog really really doesn't like it. I'm thrilled with the way my dogs reacted when I picked them up. They didn't really have to go potty to urgently. They weren't stressed more than normal when having to be away from their 24/7 mom for 5 hours. Juan you rock!!!! If you live within driving distance from Gilroy and you want a groomer that is caring, great at his art, a sweetheart with a front office person that is worth her weight in gold, please go to Sassy Pooch!!!!! I have another dog that is very shy and timid. I talked to the staff a bit about how best to handle a bath and grooming for her. They made me feel like they'd take really good care of her. They said they would start with a bath and go slow with the blower and see how she does. They assured me they'd stop at any point if she got too anxious with the process. She did well and I picked her up a few hours later with her smelling great with a nice trim as well. She looked amazing. I am really happy with the staff at Cali Petz. Everyone is very kind and willing to talk about any concerns I had throughout the process. I will definitely be going back for dog grooming. It started very well in the beginning early last year. But, today I picked up my dog and she was shaved again! They had her in there for 3hours! Just to shave all her fur! :( I asked for a trim half an inch on the body (I don't want her shaved, keep her fluffy) shave the tummy, clean private parts, teeth cleaning and bath. I had her groomed to be ready for a photo and now she's shaven. I'm so upset! This is the second time they did this to us. And, I can't be understanding anymore. Last time was last November 2025. So she's, ready for the holiday festivities and photos. But, she was shaved! I had to have her wear sweaters all winter because she was getting cold and looked malnourished. And, they offer a free grooming for next time! Why in the world would I bring my dog to them again. No consistency! Both times it was the same person at the drop off. I have nothing good to say to this place anymore.

We had a bad experience with a petsitter a few years ago, and since then the only people that I felt comfortable with pet sitting my cats were close friends/neighbor. I can't begin to express how nice it was to feel ok with leaving my cats with a petsitter and knowing that they are being well cared for, I was able to enjoy our trip. I can't recommend Janet enough, she will be our petsitter for as long as we live in the South Bay.
