I had a great experience at this location. I have switched Tian from Ziwi Peaks' Beef Recipe a fantastic air dried food from New Zealand filled with superfoods, to Vital Essentials a more simple, but freeze dried food with organs, and bones for dense nutrition. VE has more protein than Ziwi Peak, and bit less fat, and about the same amount of crude fiber. I made a video about it on his channel. So far it's going really well. I also found some ear cleaning wipes that I like a lot. I tried using a solution before, and the wipes are much easier for me. I can have trouble with my vision and grip power/Hand strnegth sometimes, so I really appreciate these wipes. I ended up returning the solution to the store I bought it from, and since his ears are mostly open, and not to deep the wipes work really well for him. The employees were really knowledgeable about the products and really helpful, so I wasn't walking more than I needed to~ Would definitely return! I have to thank the staff for helping me find Kiwi Kitchens, as I was having issues with Ziwipeak (which I had been feeding him for the past 7 or so years). The people who work here, Phyllis, Adrian and Destiny, are the nicest people! They go out of their way to help, they always have a smile (with their eyes since we're all masked) and they're in here tirelessly every day wearing those masks so my cats have food and litter. On the first occasion, Matthew helped me pick the best crate for my situation. When I came back in a day later, Sarah saw me agonizing over which food my very stressed and partially paralyzed dog might eat - she was very kind, provided me with some very helpful education, and even gave me a free sample of the "just food for dogs" feed, which turned out to be my dogs new favorite food. I am so excited that this is now near my work! The new workers were very friendly and they have a 20% off sale going on for the first month. I bought A LOT of dog treats. My dog has a very sensitive tummy and can't eat very many processed dog treats. Their selection of antlers, bully sticks, and these different meat logs were great! Some of the high end foods are ridiculously expensive and it seems the more expensive the less appealing to our finicky cats! I just purchased 24 cans and the total was still a few dollars less than any of the online resellers. Having left California, I have to say, the thing I miss most is Pet Food Express in Mountain View. There really is no other pet store as good. The staff will always greet you with a warm welcome, and they are the most knowledgeable employees I have ever known. Not only are they well trained on all the products, but they can provide life saving information on what can help your pet. The store is always clean and organized and they only carry the best products. As we don't have Pet Food Express on the East Coast, I have had to search for a pet store. The big box stores are, well, big box stores... Messy, mostly unhealthy products, and non-existent staff. The holistic mom-and-pop stores are hard to find, but those that I have found, are not staffed with knowledgeable people. I didn't realize what a treasure Pet Food Express was until I didn't have access to it anymore. If you are on the fence about where to shop for your fur-baby, and you live in California, look no further. And of all their stores that I have been to, Mountain View definitely takes the cake. Nice clean store with very helpful staff. I have a very picky maltipoo who won't eat until she's starving so I thought I'd get a variety of foods so she's not bored. I walked in and was promptly greeted and asked if I needed help. I did, and a nice friendly worker walked me to the section with food for fussy dogs, explained the different brands as well as pros and cons of grain additives, and then suggested some other things I'd never consider, like adding fish oil to her food. I ended up buying more than I planned but my dog does finally eat a bit more. In case my dog did not like the food, I could bring the leftover in for a refund, and they donate the food to animal shelters. I am a very satisfied customer and will definitely be back. read more

My dog and I love this place. In fact, he gets excited in the parking lot and runs to get inside. Once there, the staff greets him by name and fuss over him. Each employee is very knowledgeable about dogs and food and they take their time with you and make sure your specific needs are met. All of the staff is friendly and about 90% of them are very knowledgeable in pet goods. I'm a frequent flyer here and they've done their best to help me keep my cats and dog happy and healthy. So I made an account just to write this review because I was so upset about what I experienced. Hi, I am a long time customer. I recently noticed over the last few times I have been in the store, that the employees here, have started giving off hostility and negativity within the store. I have been hearing employees talking about customers in a bad light. Some of the customers that they are talking about happen to be my friends and I do not appreciate hearing people talking ill willed about people I care about. This is very rude and disrespectful and it makes me scared. As a long time customer I am now in fear to do anything knowing I could be talked about it in a negative way. I will continue to shop here and see if the environment has changed and if not, I will not shop at pet food express anymore and go elsewhere. I happen to agree with many of the other reviews, the staff is full of knowledge, the store has everything for pets that as customers we might need, however I don't think a company should be doing business where the employees first task of the day is to gossip about customers. They should be ashamed of not doing their jobs properly. The company should be ashamed of having a store full of such disrespect.
