Lizards and snakes really give me the creeps but I enjoyed seeing them in this environment. I'd…read moreheard about this place from a friend who has her own snake and uses the shop regularly. I decided to pop in with her one day and was pretty amazed really. Good prices, plenty to look at and friendly staff who really kow their stuff!

You can keep your shoe shops and your designer boutiques - this is the sort of shop I like to…read morebrowse. Unfortunately my voyeuristic interest in pets of the slimy and scaly variety is all too often spoilt by a shop that keeps its animals in cramped or unhygienic conditions (yes, I know it's not a zoo, but still...). Happily, I encountered no such problems at Tyrannosaurus Pets, an 'exotic' pet store that stocks lizards, snake and amphibians. Quite aside from having one of the best pet shop names ever, this shop is a credit to its trade with a shiny, modern shop floor; helpful, knowledgeable staff and - most importantly - spacious, clean vivariums filled with content animals. When I visited I was quite open about the fact I'd just come for a gawp, but the staff treated me as if I was a paying customer, and told me lots of stuff about the logistics of keeping lizards and snakes that I'd never heard before, despite pet shop loitering being something of a habit of mine. If you're thinking of buying an unusual pet or already own one and need to stock up on accessories, this is the only place you should need to go in Leeds.

Rude experience instore, nasty, cold and unfriendly I…read more mentioned it on facebook in a private message, to try and get the situation fixed No bother to even get back to me four days later. I called the shop, nobody got back to me And then they have the nerve to reply to my review claiming im harrasing them Ie to twist the situation which all started from their NASTY ABYSMAL ATTITUDE. vile company avoid like the plague

I was interested to read a review about the rather unusual manners of the staff here, as I rather…read morethought it was just me. You know, my face or something. It's nice to hear that it is at least one other person's face and not just mine. I popped in on a bit of a whim, looking for dog treats and to see what was going down in the latest pet shop in ma hood. There is a wide range of merchandise at fairly reasonable prices and the animals looked well cared for, so there is a star for that. But the staff? Genuinely bamboozled by their attitudes, and I mean attitude in the very literal teenage huffypuffy 'I hate everything' sort of a way. I asked to have a look at some collars that were behind the till, and was met with silence. Actual for real silence. Staring right through me silence. SO weird. So I asked again, more silence, so in a very English was decided to babble my reasons for wanting to look at the collars. Not a single damn word. The girl just turned slowly (revolving for eternity with the centrifugal force of internal rage?), reached for one random collar and slapped it on the counter....then looked away. Just so very very odd, to be THAT bad a customer service is really an art. To be that rude a human being interacting with another human being is quite unnerving. I should have said something, and believe me as I left my potential purchase (more fool you lady, I have LOTS and LOTS of cats who I'd happily buy diamante collars for) and walked out I knew I was in for a long argument with myself in the shower later with all the awesome statements my brain just couldn't come up with at the time. I wont be going back to such an unwelcoming place, no matter what the convenience...I'll stick to making the effort to go to Paws For Thought on York Road where I am guaranteed good advice, as much browsing as I want and *faint* a smile. So, top tip for the staff at Paw Prints? Ladies, if you hate your job so much that you death glare your customers out the door....then the service industry is probably not for you. Perhaps bouncer or loan shark would be a better sphere of employment.
