We purchased a home back in spring, and as many desert dwellers know, we tend to get...critters...around these parts. We've been battling a mysterious pest issue at our new home and have cycled through multiple companies in town who tried, yet failed, to address it. After yet another sleepless night due to the pest noises in our wall recently, I did a Google search in a panic, desperately seeking SOMEONE who could help us finally resolve our problems. Pest Friends is new in town, but their reviews and website - and frankly, incredibly punny name - intrigued me. I reached out to them to make an inquiry and was almost immediately contacted by one of the owners. (Shout out to John for being so awesome!) Salomon came out for a free inspection the next day and we were so, so impressed with his professionalism, timeliness, and friendly demeanor. He helped to identify several areas of concern - that the other companies missed - and also located wasp nests in our roof vents (something that two other companies failed to see or mention). We were impressed enough after our free inspection to hire the Pest Friends to some exclusion work and trapping. Salomon and Darrell came out to perform the removal of the wasp nests and exclusion work and were extremely thorough. They checked every nook and cranny and sealed up the roof exterior, spending 5-6 hours total on the job. (Again, keep in mind here we'd already had two other companies in town do this work, and they caught so many things that had been missed!) Salomon also placed some traps and we were able to bid adieu to several patio pack rats! If that didn't leave me impressed enough, Salomon has contacted us multiple times to follow up & to see if we had other issues. We've been so happy with their service that we cancelled our contact with a bigger company in town and also hired them on to perform our bi-monthly pest spray. (Oh - and they're cheaper, too.) I would highly recommend this company, and Salomon and Darrell specifically, for any pest issues or maintenance. They are kind, professional, and throrough, and scheduling is easy and efficient. The company is small and it's clear they value their employees - and in turn, the employees clearly value customer service and taking care of their clients. Not the folks you should use if you have pack rats. Period. When we called for rodents in the attic we were told multiple times that they would not remediate or mitigate any intrusions. Okay okay we get it, you only set traps. Great. Anthony came out to provide an estimate ($450), walked the back yard and found a nest above our kitchen window - and didn't check the roof any where else. He told us explicitly they would be out every couple of days to check the traps. His specific example was they'd set the traps Friday, check Monday. Traps set around the yard on a Friday and they came back on Wednesday - five days later after we called about how much time had passed. We also said they were still in the attic. No one checked in the attic, other sections of the roof, got on a ladder, nothing. Rick said that he'd schedule a trap check for the following Friday which would have been 9 days later. That's when we were done. $450 dollars to set five traps and not come back for 5 or 9 days is absurd. When they do come, they check the trap, squeeze in more bait and bail. Five minutes max. It was a waste of time and money. Of note: Mr. Pack Rat came shortly thereafter, checked the roof with the nest and informed us that rats hadn't entered the house there. He checked the entire roofline and found the point of entry on the other side of the house and screened the hole that was in the plywood - something Pest Friends completely missed and wouldn't have done. He came out daily to check our traps, caught multiple rats, cleaned out the nest under the roof tiles and replaced them, remediated all of it until the roofers could fix the damage. read more

Pest Friends has been treating leaf cutter ant mounds for over a year. On 12/4/24, Rick treated about a dozen ant mounds, per usual with the usual treatment product. It hasn't been very effective. This time he really filled the nests with treatment, then repeated when the nest drained. The ants didn't show up again for 6 days - a record! And then only one mound was active. When Rick came out on 12/18, he said he had done some research about a better treatment product and was going to use it. He said it was a spray that was undetectable to the ants. He sprayed it around the ant mounds. We will see if it is effective. I appreciated that Rick looked for a better treatment, because the treatments that have been used in the past have not eliminated the ant mounds. read more

I signed up with Pest Friends about a year ago due to a mosquito issue I was having at one of my homes. I later expanded their service to 3 homes. Overall they were responsive to my requests for insects and their products seemed to work with the exception of the constant barrage of small ants and repeated attacks by mosquitos that didn't seem phased by their products. I later expanded my service to include rodent service at one of my properties and that is where everything fell apart. I was suppose to have the traps serviced 3x a week and the first trapping they set before a holiday weekend and the traps produced a strong stench before they returned to the point that some had to be manually removed from the patio. I had to call numerous times over the weekend to get the rest of the traps emptied since they had set them all up close to the house and you couldn't help but get hit by the smell of rotting carcass in the hot AZ heat as soon as you opened the patio door. I did not understand why they set up the first trapping when they did not intend to return for 5 days. The scope of work they proposed was 3x weekly trap checks followed by monthly thereafter. During the 3x weeks I often still had to call to confirm they would be emptying the traps before the weekends. Then when we got to the monthly part of the contract it was a complete nightmare. I still don't understand how a company could propose that frequency of service and set traps along the outdoor kitchen and patio area and think that wouldn't be a complete cluster with having dead rodents rotting for days/weeks. This service was not inexpensive either as I paid $1100 for the initial trap setting followed by $100/mo. What a complete waste of money and it's obvious they do not have experience when it comes to handling rodent problems as the solution they proposed for me ended up leading to numerous complaints from my tenants. Their only solution was to offer to charge me even more money to come out to check and empty the traps and to fan them out from how close they had put them to the property. My only desire was to cut down on the rodent activity in the outdoor kitchen / pool patio area. That was not accomplished so I ended up canceling them at all of my properties. The COO also seemed to get offended when I complained that what they were using to treat the ants did not seem to be working. I unfortunately can not recommend this company and instead would advise others to look for other pest control companies that have been around longer who understands what products work and what don't along with being able to provide recommendations on pest control solutions that actually work! read more

I clicked what I could to get this screen for a review but they didn't actually come out for anything. I called because I thought I had a "wasp/bee" problem and Anna explained what my issue could be without pushing me to have them come take a look. Don't get me wrong she offered several times asking me if I was positive and I assured her I did not want anyone to come out unless the problem was not what she suggested it was. She was so knowledgeable. It seemed as if she has been in the business forever but I have no idea. What a breath of fresh air in this day and age! This group is fabulous. I have lived here for 45 years and tried lots of self trapping of pack rats with many different types of traps and never made a dent. They came on board a couple of years ago, and I haven't seen any sign of pack rats. It used to be there were droppings everywhere you looked near walls. Now it is nothing. They come by regularly for insect and other control and will also walk around the desert looking for evidence of nests that I would never have found on my own. They find the nests, trap the rats, and clean out the nest so none others will move it. Can't say enough about them. read more
