A technician repairing my dishwasher told me he suspected evidence of termites under the unit. Naturally I panicked and called my pest control service, 1st Choice. The next morning Lia, the owner, personally inspected my kitchen and dishwasher area and reassured me that I have no termites. She wouldn't accept payment for her time or gasoline. I have had nothing other than perfect service from 1st Choice and would recommend this company to anyone. Milton L read more

Lia, of 1st Choice Termite & Pest, came to my home to do a follow up inspection because I had concerns about a different company. She calmed all my concerns; did an inspection and explained exactly what I should look for. Lia was very thorough and has lots of great information. She also told me about some interesting bug/ant facts and really made a creepy subject interesting! Hahaha. She also gave me a great tip for my agave, so they don't spear my pup! I can't say enough good things about this company. They are thorough, communicative, and did not try to convince me to pay for unneeded services. The person who came out to my house was very friendly and kind. And the price was lower than other companies that I received estimates from. read more

We recently had our new home serviced by 1st Choice Termite and Pest company. Having owned multiple properties in Tucson Arizona before, termites are a common problem. It's not a matter of IF you have them... it's a matter of WHEN. After having nearly 30 days of rain during monsoon season, I started to notice termite tunnels around the interior of our wrought iron front door. I knew it was time to begin the interview process. I met with numerous other top rated termite companies that we had contracted with in the past and it was the same old schpeel over and over again, "we spray and they get it on their bodies, then they mingle, then the other termites get them and then they'll soon be gone." I can't tell you how many times I've heard this same old story. Spare me! You would think being a four digit customer in the past would give you some sort of automatic discount, but it did not and that alone made me feel slighted. So sadly, one can feel easily duped after the service has been performed and the check has been cashed. For instance, I could not get Bugger Bees to come back to correct more termite tunnels that I found at our rental property. Their voice mail was constantly full and they would not respond to any text messages. I had to call another termite company and spend more money on something was supposed to be under warranty. We also used Rigo Pest to service our main home prior to selling it. The owner of that company said in the termite report he filed with the state of Arizona that he located termites in our kitchen. However, when his crew came out to service the area, they could not find any evidence of any termites in the kitchen! One feels at the mercy of these business owners especially when you're selling a million dollar property and need to pass a termite inspection. After learning that the owner of Rigo was a past employee of another southwestern Arizona termite company, I felt even more taken advantage of as he was trying to undercut the competition by offering $$$ off because he knew we were shopping around. So I did more research and called 1st Choice. After doing an extensive phone interview to set the expectations of what we wanted from a termite company, I met with the owner, Rhonda. Her company is, I believe, the only woman-owned termite company in Tucson and I felt comfortable with her from the start. She didn't try to "sell me" on their service nor did she give me the "schpeel" but instead politely pointed out all the areas where we were having problems like the outdoor columns, inside our garage, the entire side patio and other areas that the previous three companies didn't seem to catch. She even found two places where we had Black Widows living in the garage and I really appreciated that! During this entire time, she kept eye contact with me which gave me even more reassurance that she was a reputable business that I could trust. I was impressed by her professionalism and candidness. For once, it seemed like I was talking to a real business person who cares about her clients. She laid out a course of action, told us we were going to have a crew of 5 show up and do the work, and it was going to take a minimum of three hours. I was a little shocked at the manpower needed to correct my subterranean termite problem, but she said it was necessary and extensive. After pointing out to her that the termite company we used at our rental (Bugger Bees) drilled holes all along the edge of our foundation in our 30 foot Arizona room, then overly filled the holes with a much darker color concrete (very unsightly!), then to top that off, they didn't even bother to level the holes with a scraper and just left them like that. So now the holes look like cupcakes with icing on the top instead of being properly leveled with a scraper. Rhonda gave me full assurance that if any holes needed to be drilled, her experienced crew would expertly fill them and match them to an almost exact color of the existing concrete stain of our patios. Just to have my concerns addressed gave me a vote of confidence that their company was the one we would go with. She submitted their quote the very next day and we booked service a few weeks later. On the day of service, I received a call from her that they were on their way. 20 minutes later, five 1st Choice company lettered trucks drove in and met with me. They listened to my requests to not drag anything heavy along the concrete patios especially since we have multiple large planters around our property in the same areas that were to be serviced. The crew was very attentive, very neat, very polite and overly-accommodating. Everything was put back in its original position when they were through. The holes were filled and color matched so well, I could hardly tell anything had been done at all. The interior termite problem has been fixed. We haven't seen a termite tunnel since. I would highly recommend this company. read more

Fabulously honest, reasonable, knowledgeable - overall they are consummate professionals!

I don't know how exciting a pest control company can be, but I have always used First Choice and have been very happy with Lia and the team. They are reasonably priced, use high quality treatments and my house is still standing (aka no termites!) and bug free! I like that they are locally owned and I can speak directly to the owner when there is a concern. They are my go to recommendation when people need a termite inspection. read more

I had a scheduled appointment to have my initial pest treatment on May 23rd between 1:30-2:30. I called at 2:30 to find out where the technician was and to get an update. I received a call at 2:45 to let me know that my information was not passed on to the technician, but they could come out in a week to do the treatment. I would have been fine with waiting for another day or two, but not a week. This is no way to get a new account started. I would have loved to give my business to a Veteran owned company, but as a Veteran myself, I expect more out of a company. read more

Had a big problem with roaches before the holidays in December thanks to the pigs who behind us moved out and left 1,000,000 friends behind. The owner of 1st Choice(an extremely nice person) came and after discussing the specifics of our problem proceeded to do her thing using multiple weapons in her arsenal. In just a few weeks to my amazement, we didn't see any more roaches. She came the next month to re-treat the whole house and yard again. They say "happy wife...happy life" and my wife and I are happy no that the bugs are gone. We highly recommend 1st choice as your 1st choice to rid yourself of unwanted guests in your home or office. read more

I recently use 1st Choice Pest control for silverfish, in my home. The first was a technician name was Barry and when he arrived I ask him if the office told him I had called about silverfish, he told me no, (I had caught 3 of the pest for the first tech as instructed) and when he saw them he said yes they are silverfish, but assured me the general chemical they use would work... so he treated my home and as he was leaving I ask what should I do if this did not work? Barry said give the treatment two or three days to work, but if I see any more silverfish after that to call them back out. This is what I did and I had to call them back out because the first treatment did not get rid of the silverfish... So a second technician named Sean came back to my house about a week later, and again when I ask him if the office told him he was treating for silverfish he response was no. But he proceeded to treat the house again, and I thought this time it worked because I did not see a silverfish for a few days.. Then on the forth day after the second treatment I killed two very alive silverfish. Naturally I called 1st Choice back at 8:30 the very next morning. This time the receptionist Theresa would not set me up to have someone come back to my house... she said the owner Rhonda Boyer will call me back. At 118 pm Rhonda Boyer had not called me, so I called Theresa at 1st Choice and she said Rhonda was on a termite call and will call me back when she gets into the office, at 2pm, Rhonda finally called, never ask how I was or how she could help me. She just was insistent that silverfish is not so bad and she was told by her tech that he did not see any silverfish, (according to google they come out at night). I goggled silverfish and found out they destroy everything, books clothes, bedding any and all fabrics and papers, is what silverfish eat. Rhonda refused to come to my house again and treat for silverfish and even said told me to call another pest control service and hung up the phone on me. So this is how an owner of a business acted.. she just hangs up on customers what about the 1st Choice guarantee to remove insects. Below is the words off 1st Choice website: and I quote "1st Choice Termite & Pest offers the best for Residential & Commercial pest control. We don't require our customers to sign contracts. Our service is very flexible and can be monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly or as requested by the customer. We can service the interior and exterior or just the exterior of any property. All monthly customers receive a service guarantee. Arizona, for residential and commercial pest and insect removal services. " They are NOT a pest and insect Removal service, what they are is pay us and if that don't work call someone else pest control. Please do not use 1st choice for any of your insects because they CAN NOT get rid of silverfish and they are one of the easiest pest to get rid of according to three other pest control companies I have spoken with... I have also report the extremely poor service I received to the BBB and Angies List, so if you can think of other place to report this sorry service to let me know, thank you... read more

As a repeated customer I just had the worst experience with this company. I had a emergency with kissing bugs and we set up an appointment but because the guy got the wrong address from his staff he ended up 45 minutes out. But because he had a second job he couldn't come for another 5 days. He didn't offer me Someone else to come out on Wednesday. Which will not work. This experience had left a poor experience in my mouth. read more

Thank you for ridding my home of silverfish! I have never had a problem like this in our home, and recently I had just an unreal amount of silverfish in our pantry. The 1st Choice representative came by and did a treatment and I have not seen a single bug! The best part was that the chemical was not toxic to my pets or me. I met with my scheduled appointment with 1st Choice Pest Control, A member of Better Business, and couldn't have been more pleased. A previous inspector was less less informed and gave me wrong information, and told me I had to have 2 or 3 treatments that would be charged each time. 1st Choice, on the otherhand, told me exactly what my problem was, how to treat it myself, and even told me the chemical to use. In addition, she was very well informed, interesting to talk to, and offered advice for future infestations....no charge now or for annual inspections specific to my house type. I was very impressed and will recommend 1st Choice to anyone that has any type of bug/critter problem. read more
