Great kosher restaurant in brooklyn. Ate so much but forgot to take pictures. Pizza, pasta, soup, and more we had

4 stars for food. 2 stars for service. I came for Sunday brunch/lunch. It's a very pretty restaurant and they have a private party room too. It wasn't busy at 1:30. For brunch they have four options, but the rest of the menu is available. We shared the mac n cheese balls and goat cheese egg rolls as our appetizers. They were fine. The egg roll was more sweet potato than goat cheese. For my entree I got the green shakshuka which was surprisingly very good and a massive platter that came with lebaneh, tahini, peppers, tomatoes, Israeli salad, and bread. The bread was fantastic. I also ordered a side of the "Pescada fries" which I really liked. We tried two desserts, the crème brûlée and some chocolate mousse cake called the triple chocolate dream. Both okay. The crème brûlée was not real, it was more of a super thick and sticky custard but it was fine. They have like...no alcohol on the menu. Maybe five cocktails. They were out of sangria. I ordered a lychee martini and it was undrinkable. One girl wanted a vodka with cranberry juice and they said they couldn't make it??? Food took a while to come out. Some drinks came quickly, I waited over a half hour for my martini. They also don't serve entrees at the same time. I was done with my shakshuka way before some people got their entrees. That said, the plating is really nice and most of the food is good. Service needs A LOT of work. Also there's only one bathroom stall so be prepared to wait. read more

Excellent food! Went out for dinner ordered the goat cheese egg roll definitely recommend them. Got the pescada salad it was good but the dressing that comes with it we didn't like so we got a different dressing. Ordered the salmon burgers which sounded good but that we didn't really like. It tasted more like a fish and vegetable patty. When I think of salmon burger I think of just salmon and grilled. So that I don't recommend. For dessert we got the churros which was soo good!!! They came with raspberry and chocolate sauce as well as French Creme and ice cream. Now for the service it was fantastic! We had Mike and he was very accommodating and very helpful. My nephew had gotten married the night before and we were gathering together to say the special blessings that are said at the end of the meal for the week after the wedding. There are many restaurants to choose from in Brooklyn and we ended up choosing this 1 based on recommendations, the interactions with the owner and what we felt was a fair price for what we were supposed to get. To say we were satisfied would be an understatement we were extremely happy with the quantity and quality of the food, the service, the ease with which we dealt with the owner. We started off with salads which were fresh delicious and varied, we went into she is platters which for first thing made, warm, varied types and taste, and though he had said if you do it family style do not worry if we run out of something because people like 1 thing more than the other we will just bring out more and he brought out more and more and more. We then went to the Pasta which was fresh, al dente and delicious. By the time he brought out the fish which was extremely well-done salmon and bronzini I was almost sorry I had eaten everything else as the fish was still delicious I wish I had more room for the fish. It was getting towards the end and then they brought out the desert and then I was sorry I had eaten the rest of the food as the desserts were out of this world. There were cheese cakes, churros, creme de brulee, custard, will complemented by unending soda and a large urn of fresh brewed coffee. By the time we left everyone, and we were about 35 people, were stuffed to the gills and complementing us for a superb choice. I can definitely say this will be at the top of our list for celebrations or even just lunch or dinner in the future. read more

I've been here a few times with some Kosher family members, and it's okay. I think the prices are pretty high but that pretty much goes for most Kosher restaurants. The pizza is okay, but could use more cheese in my opinion. They have some very interesting and unique salads to try also. My favorite dish there was the pasta verde. It was like a fettuccine Alfredo with zucchini, spinach, and basil. It was very flavorful and the vegetables were cooked nicely and not mushy or anything. I personally came in for lunch with a friend and we ordered appetizers because we were not starving. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, goat cheese egg rolls, and fish tacos- EVERYTHING WAS FRIED. We could not even taste the fish in the tacos which was super disappointing. We left literally feeling like we needed to eat a salad afterwards. I feel like this restaurant is super confused and needs a menu makeover - the menu is HUGE and not focused. In my opinion considering the name is Pescada which literally means a kind of small sea fish; they should focus on being a fish restaurant rather than a dairy restaurant. The waiters do not even know what is popular which is a hint that the restaurant is focused on way too many things. The service was also terrible, it felt like when we asked for more water or even to order dessert (which was the only decent part of the whole experience) we were an inconvenience to them. Once we paid we did receive a 10% off coupon to visit their meat restaurant which I am nervous to try after this horrendous meal, but willing to give it a try! read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My best friend and I decided to stop by for lunch, and it's something I am going to regret because not one thing was worth the amount of money spent. Mac-and-cheese balls were cold on the inside. Mushroom gnocchi was, to say the least, underwhelming, and my friend's cappuccino was lukewarm. The worst of it was my friend's baked ziti. Undercooked pasta, and I'd love to know what sauce they used, because what I tasted was more like ketchup with basil than any actual pasta sauce. This, according to Pescada, was worth $117!? Inclusive of a 20% gratuity? No. Absolutely not. I will be disputing the charge with American Express because not one thing was worth the price paid for it. Avoid it at all costs; there are far better Kosher restaurants in Brooklyn that are priced less, with cooks who know what they're doing. read more

When customers walk in, and the 3 workers behind the bar casually look up and then, glance away, letting us hang awkwardly at the entrance not sure what we should do .... Id say that is impolite, and the owner of pescada definitely hasn't properly built a culture of kindness and willingness to do the right thing for the customer at his company. We were apparently not the top priority, because those 3 people chose to ignore us. In fact.... After dangling around the front looking around for a close to a minute we had to approach them ourselves and ask if we could sit and eat.. The response was... "Oh, um..... you gotta wait." Hmm... We waited in this awkward wide open space by the door, maybe around 2-4min, and then just left. Some side notes for you: The layout of this location is very poor and is a bad execution and use of the space. At first glance both me and my partner looked at each other and thought we had crashed someone's bat mitzva - it looks like a catering hall. Very uninviting.. Terrible. And I know it's called pescada but it smells just way too strong in there. Not a deal breaker I get it, it's a fish place, just a comment. *Lastly, iwill probably go to their other location at some point. Will review when I go. Hope it's a better experience. read more

Pescada has been a favourite of mine ever since they opened their location at Ave P. When I was told they were opening this location, I couldn't have been more excited. I really wished and hoped the space would be vastly different than the other location and lo and behold this space is the bomb! You walk in to a very polished, well lit, modern decor greeting you. From the calm blue walls, to the white tables and chairs, you just know you're going to be comfortable dining here. Of course, the moment I walked in Chef Lior came to greet our party and told us not to worry he was going to create a dinner for us to remember. Boy, all our belts were unfastened by the time that meal was over. Appetizers to mains to desserts was just incredible! The artichoke ceviche is an absolute must get. The flavors of all ingredients combined in that dish is out of this world. I'm not a fan of stuffed mushrooms but the way its prepared here makes me want to stuff my mouth with them. For our mains, we got a grilled rare tuna, and a sea bass dish. Both accompanied by Pescada fries and california stir fry! The tuna was grilled to perfection of course with a beautiful pink and juicy center. The sea bass too, oh so tasty and delicate. Everything about our dinner here was true perfection. Take note this was part of the soft opening and I couldn't have been more impressed. They will also be using this space to make parties and events. I will surely recommend them. read more

Amazing service! Amazing food! Incredible atmosphere. My family and I had an excellent dinner here tonight. Our waiter was incredible and super quick to fill our needs and very patient. The food was delicious and super filling. We had an array of fish and pastas and all the dishes were tasty and complimented by those who ordered it. Now onto the desserts, INCREDIBLE desserts. We got a platter of an assortment of desserts. We had a waffle, ice cream, cheesecake, a mini chocolate soufflé, and 2 little Napoleon pastries. Everyone left happy and satisfied. read more

One of my favorite dairy restaurants in Brooklyn. The food is amazing I would recommed dishes bur honestly everything I've order has been delicious to the apps salads fish and pasta all A hit. I usually don't leave negative reviews and give everyone the benefit of the doubt, especially on special holidays, but my meal at Pescada was the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in years. I saved my receipt just in case Pescada tries to take this review down. I hope someone from the restaurant reads what I have to say because this place is in need of systemic change. I cannot blame the waiters. It is obvious management is incompetent, greedy, and incapable of running a restaurant on even the slowest day. The entrance was packed with a bunch of moms and kids awaiting their rides. We had to elbow our way through a crowd of rude people just to get to the counter. After a few minutes, we were seated. My mother and I got into a conversation and shared a few laughs. After a while, we realized not a single employee in the restaurant had so much as glanced at us. At least 25 minutes had passed since we were seated. We flailed our hands to hail down the nearest waiter. He looked very overwhelmed. He did not ask us whether we wanted anything to drink. When asked about wine, he became confrontational and argumentative about which grapes produce which wine (that's okay, just a misunderstanding) when my mom asked how it was possible to have a white Cabernet Sauvignon. The waiter curtly declined my request to substitute spaghetti for linguine, despite the presence of both on the menu. He cut me off and pointed at something on the menu saying "That's the linguine meal." He told us there was a "special" Mother's Day menu. I don't think he understood that the pasta and sauce are prepared separately, and even the dingiest hole-in-the-wall is capable of mixing pre-made sauce with any kind of pasta. I ordered the spaghetti anyway, and requested wine and water for two. The food and wine came relatively quickly. The spaghetti alla putanesca was bland, unseasoned, and devoid of any memorable attributes. It wasn't terrible. It was just no better than a can of Chef Boyardee. They were skimpy on the olives, but the quality of them was at least acceptable. This lukewarm meal was the highlight of my experience. A confused waitress interrupted our meal to ask us if we were the table that ordered a bowl of french fries, and walked off back to the kitchen when we said no. After finishing our pasta, salad, and wine, we once again flailed our arms to ask a waiter to bring us the check. Somebody came by nearly 10 minutes later and did not ask us about our meal or ask whether he wanted anything else. He came back, handed us a paper slip without the usual book or case for the check and walked off brusquely. 20% gratuity included. I nearly crossed it out, but I decided not to punish the staff for what was clearly the gross incompetence of management. After some more arm-flailing and a few minutes, somebody came for my card. A few more minutes later, a busboy smacks a receipt on our table and walks off quickly without saying anything. No one ever asked if our meal was okay. No one ever came to our table asking if we wanted a meal in the first place! We had to stretch, groan, and dance just to get someone to look in our general direction. I am appalled at how horrible the service here was. The waiters were overwhelmed and incompetent when we finally got their attention. The place was not any busier than a good restaurant on a Friday night. There is no excuse for this kind of dysfunction at a restaurant of any level. If every single one of the waiters was incompetent, it's impossible to blame my particular server. Very obviously, the management is not training them properly. The food was not worth going out for either. It wasn't generous and it wasn't good. It was just okay. Even by kosher standards, there are far better restaurants for less money. I would give 0 stars if I could. By the way, we never got our water. P.S. My mom insists we were brought Merlot instead of Cabernet, but I have no way of proving this. She reminded me weren't offered bread while apparently they usually do. read more

We had the white chocolate soufflé, which was delicious. My only issue about this restaurant is that they have no liquor or wine. I came here last night at 8pm to celebrate my friends birthday who also happens to be 9 months pregnant. I got in before them and got a table. While I waited for them, I ordered a glass of wine that didn't come for 10min. (They also did not serve me bread until after my friends arrived) When my friends arrived we ordered 2 appetizers, the cauliflower and stuffed artichoke. I ordered a fettuccine Alfredo my other friend ordered a ravioli and the birthday girl ordered a fish. The appetizers came and the waiter dropped the artichoke sauce all over the birthday girl. She said she was ok but she wasn't. Being pregnant she started to get nauseous from the smell of the sauce that fell on her. Not only that but it destroyed her shirt. Already 9:30 and the dinners are still not out. I asked the waiter what's going on? How much longer does it take for pasta and fish? He came back after going into the kitchen and said 3 min and that there was a party.... (total lie, they forgot) our waitress came after 3 min and said I just spoke to the kitchen and they said 3 min. I told her that 3 min ago someone else told me 3 min too. Meaning they where stalling to get our food ready. Finally it came 5min later. Food was ok. When we got the check they told us they disconnected the birthday girls meal. I was so shocked to hear that it was not free considering they destroyed her shirt that spilled on her - losing her appetite - and killed a fun night out. After speaking my mind she managed to make her dish free of charge. They should have done it from the start and told her that her meal is free after already spilling on her.... Cons: Service was a bit slow and unorganized (but it was Labor Day, in their defense), and a bit pricey for dairy. Pros: Food was delicious. I don't usually like to go to dairy restaurants because I pretend to be a chef and would rather make the food myself. However, someone was willing to pay, so we went out. The food was delicious--probably the best kosher dairy outing I've had so far. Skip the bronzino (not the whole fish, and not impressive), but the salmon was wonderful. We'll be going back. Food was an absolute delight. I'm surprised to how good this restaurant is, especially because it was my first. It was expensive, but definitely worth the money, you're getting good quality, tasty food. As for the service, it is slow and disorganized, and tip was automatically added, and the guy did not deserve it. He was very slow and barely paid any attention to our table, we were almost there for three hours , which we didn't mind socializing, but the service definitely needs to be worked on. The torino shake was the best thing I've ever had, it's magical. The atmosphere was really nice and modern, it felt like an upscale dining place. The decoration of the plates are also very professional, which makes a big difference to the customer when eating and enjoying the food. Will definitely be returning, I just hope the service will improve. Definitely worth it though! read more

My friend and I came here for a late Saturday night dinner. We were greeted by a waiter and shown our seats quickly and respectfully. From that point, everything went downhill. After several minutes, a waiter approaches our table. My friend had some questions to ask. As soon as they asked just one question, the waiter turns around and leaves. After some time we call the waiter back. We ask another question, but before he has a chance to turn and leave again, we throw in another one and keep his attention long enough to place our order. It felt as if the waiter had a serious case of ADD. (Mind you, I'm not belittling it. I just wish I had known about it to be ready for it.) We ordered the Tuscan Pizza. We asked if it came with sauce, simply because it wasn't explicitly stated on the menu as an ingredient, unlike some of the other pizzas. The waiter confirmed that there was no sauce on the pizza. After over half an hour of waiting for our pizza, we have it placed on our table and we see a sea of sauce in it. We call over a different waiter and state that this is not what we were expecting nor what was described to us. He was kind enough to redo our pizza with somewhat less sauce. We had to wait an additional 20 minutes before we got our second pizza. Half way through the pizza pie, a waiter asks us if we want some bread brought to the table. Shouldn't that be done at the very beginning? Eventually we get the bread, we realize that it came fresh out of the oven. None the less, we felt that it should have been asked of us when we placed our orders and not when we were almost done with our meal. The quality of the pizza was ok and definitely nothing to write home about. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either. Was it worth it? I would say no. Are there other things on the menu that are? I can't say until I try them. After requesting our check and having them charge the meal to the credit card, the waiter returned with a pen and a folio that contained the restaurant receipt and only one copy of the credit card payment receipt, which was the merchant's copy. I have never been given only one copy to sign without being provided the customer copy. This venue lacks professionalism and basic common courtesy. Would I come here again? Not for dinner, that's for sure. read more

Its been 2 hours since I placed the order on seamless for delivery. I live 3 blocks away. Ive been calling and calling the restaurant and no one is picking up the phone. Money has been charged from my card. Estimated delivery was supposed to be 40 mins ago. This is unacceptable!! I feel like going there to pick my food up myself. I had heard of the place from friends and wanted to try it. I must say that I was greatly disappointed and somewhat angry. The restaurant business is mostly based on service and good food. The service in this restaurant is very bad. I came in with my daughter and her baby and directed to sit at a table where there was no place for a small stroller. When asked for a different table, the server was not pleased. Once seated, the server rushed us to decide; even though there were only two other dinners at this nearly empty restaurant. When we questioned the server on the menu items, the server was not forthcoming and looked annoyed. After ordering, we asked for a high chair for the baby which was given to us only after requesting it many times and after 15 minutes of waiting. We asked for water and a pitcher with ice and the server brought it when we were done eating. The soup we ordered was brought to us without the bread; which came only when we asked for it and when the soup was already eaten. There were no napkins on the table which we needed to ask for and waited for a long time. Although the food was ok the service was lousy!! Aside of the fact that the food is very expensive, I was very upset that they added the gratuity (18%!!) to the bill. The server did not deserve this amount of money after the lousy service he provided. I will NOT recommend this place. read more

I had a wonderful experience here with my husband! First and foremost, we had to send something back because they mixed up my side but they accepted it so gracefully and respectfully! I've never been treated as nicely in such a situation. They even cooked me another piece because the first order had been placed on the wrong side dish! Overall great experience! For app we shared the goat cheese eggrolls and we will definitely get that again next time. Mouthwatering! I ordered the sole in the Blanc sauce with complimentary sides of zucchini sticks and their Pescada fries. The sole was so delicate! It came in a sweet mushroom and cranberry sauce and had a spiced kick from the seasoning. The fries were delicious! The zucchini sticks were like nothing I've ever had. It had this teriyaki like sauce and was deep fried and battered. The fish was placed on the bed of fries and it went perfectly. My husband got the filleted branzino with a side of mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini and he liked his dish as well. The mashed potatoes are buttery and delicious. Shared app and 2 fish mains was perfect for the meal. We left full with no room for dessert! read more

I ordered on Amazon, and the food was delicious. I had the ravioli in a pink sauce, the stuffed artichoke bottoms, and the halloumi salad. I wish the salad had more fried halloumi cheese, but it was a delicious Asian flavored dish loaded with sauteed vegetables atop cold lettuce, and the artichokes were deeply flavorful and lemony. If you are looking for a top notch dairy restaurant with great ambience and excellent service this is the place to go. The food is fresh and well seasoned and presented Manhattan style decorated on the plate. Also unlike many other dairy restaurants this one is pretty quite so you can actually enjoy your meal with pleasant conversation. Looking forward for my next night out and have dinner at Pescada.
