I have been coming to Perspective Family Eyecare for my annual eye exam for the past 5 years, and it is always an excellent, pleasant experience from start to finish. The facility is spacious, bright, and impeccably clean, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, and even the background jazzy music adds to the pleasant ambiance. The technician who handled the initial measurements was fantastic, and Dr. Arthur is truly exceptional. He takes the time to thoroughly explain everything--what's going on with your vision, your options, what to expect, and the pros and cons of different choices. It's clear he genuinely cares about his patients. Until a couple of years ago I've always used two pairs of glasses--one for reading/computer work and another for everything else. When I needed new lenses, Dr. Arthur recommended progressive lenses. I was hesitant at first, but I trusted his expertise, and I'm so glad I did! Now, I can use just one pair for almost everything., although I still use my reading glasses for computer work. When I got progressive lenses for the first time they took longer to arrive due to delays with the vision insurance lab. Dr. Arthur personally followed up with the insurance company, which helped speed things up, and called me to explain the situation. I even received a refund check from my insurance as partial compensation--something I wouldn't have expected without his intervention. If you're looking for a eye care provider who combines professional expertise with genuine patient care, Perspective Family Eyecare and Dr. Arthur are outstanding. Highly recommended! My husband's glasses broke while we were visiting New York. Initially, the front desk told us they couldn't help us, but then doctor stopped us as we were leaving and said they would try. Told us it would be $5 to replace the screw and labor, but after it was done, doctor said "don't worry about it". We were grateful to have someone actually try to help us on a Saturday. read more

My first visit was amazing and hence why I returned. No getting passed around from tech to tech. Last two visits, very odd. One occasion, I was waiting in the room and then another tech comes in with a patient. Why couldn't I have been told to leave if I shouldn't have been there. Most recent visit asked several times if i wore glasses by one of the drs but then told I have perfect eyesight by same individual. That is very alarming to receive that info as a patient. when questioned abt it I am told not to worry. My eyes were dilated at this visit and I was told that the effects would wear off after 2 hrs. The next morning when I woke up I was alarmed to still be experiencing sensitivity to light. I called the office up and was told they didn't realize what drops they used in my eye. I was a little disappointed in this visit as I had not had any eye issues leading up to this visit and was a little confused about what was going on. read more

This is my 3rd visit to Prospective Eyecare. I took my kids for their annual checkup and decided to also get one. Based on the doctors finding I definitely needed glasses and so do my kids. Literally, three blind mice. They were so courteous and friendly. I got through all the medical paperwork without any issues. They called me to remind me of my appointments, which is a major help for me. This may seem trivial but it's not to me. The quality of sound and touch in this office is amazing. You can tell he wanted to be a more retro doctor and it comes across in each room. The office is filled with lively music and very soft lighting. I had a great experience and the staff was very friendly. I arrived at 10:59 for my 11:00am appointment. I was all checked in by 11:05 and back in a room by 11:10. Everything was smooth and seamless. Dr. Arthur was pleasant, knowledgeable, and very down to earth. He answered all of my seemingly random questions. I also really enjoyed chatting with one of the younger guys who did a lot of the data processing. He was a good kid. The visit was all around enjoyable. I ended up not purchasing frames with them and was pleased that I wasn't under the heavy sales pressure as many offices put you under when it's time to look at frames. This place has basically tried to scam me twice. They did not do my dilation as part of my regular eye exam and told me I had to come back for it. I was assured that a dilation was part of my regular routine annual eye exam covered by insurance, but they billed it through my medical and I had to pay a specialist co-pay. When I talked to my insurance they told me that the tests they were doing were NOT routine. Then they made another follow up appt without my consent and told me that the routine exams involve SIX tests total. I don't know if this is a way for them to get my co-pay six times but nothing about this is routine or transparent. I have never had to go into an eye doctor multiple times for a regular annual exam or use insurance outside my vision insurance. read more

Called around 11am and the woman who answered was so polite and even included her name (which is always +1 star for me bc that's when you know they aren't gonna give you bad service since you KNOW who they are). I asked if they do eyeglass adjustments since might were feeling a bit loose and crooked. She said they did and gave a disclosure that they aren't responsible for damaged, scratches, etc. since I did not purchase my frames from them. That's fine, totally understandable. I get there, and was immediately greeted and helped, despite there being a full house of customers. + 1 star A man helped me with my adjustment. I told him what I wanted and he asked me to try them on. He took a quick look and said it might be $10 give or take. Totally reasonable. While I was waiting, I tried on some frames and the woman who helped me was very nice, giving me advice on styles... and also compliments. +1 star haha I waited for MAYBE 5 minutes until the guy that took my frames came back with them. +1 star I tried them on and they were PERFECT. I had no complaints. I asked if I pay at the front desk and he waved his hand and said "don't worry about it." I insisted to pay but he continued to decline. +1 star Such great employees, excellent work and service and also a very clean and professional looking establishment. I was only there for 10 minutes and I had the best experience. Highly recommend for any eyeglass and vision needs. read more

I hate leaving reviews, especially negative ones, but I really don't know what to do at this point. My experience here was so unbelievably negative that I'm concerned that something is very wrong at this practice. I've been waiting 3 months for contact lenses that I ordered through this office. I'm being told that I could be waiting another 2 months due to supply chain issues. I've called several other optometrists offices inquiring about lead times from different contact lense manufacturers and there's only an issue with Bausch and Lomb so I'm not sure why this doctor still partners with them. At this point I've asked the doctor to cancel the order so that I can be refunded my $540 !! and go elsewhere so that I can actually get my vision taken care of and he has refused to refund my money. I'm really disappointed and frustrated in his lack of integrity, and care for patient's health. At some point this man took an oath to do no harm. By refusing to refund this order, after months of me waiting, that's exactly what he's doing-- I'm being forced to wear an outdated prescription because after spending all that money on contacts, and using my eye care insurance, I can't really afford to go anywhere else. This is so unbelievably messed up. To add insult to injury, today is Tuesday, I've been calling the office since Friday, and no one is answering. Idk what to do at this point. read more

I haven't had an eye exam in 25+ years. I thought I could see perfectly. Not so much. I did not realize how much I was squinting and straining to see! Dr. Arthur and his staff were amazing. Welcoming and clean office, attentive and dedicated staff! Not only did I get a thorough exam but they helped me pick out glasses that truly suited me and that I felt comfortable in. Turnaround time was pretty fast and I walked out of the office seeing things crystal clear and sharp for the first time in ages! I had a great experience here getting glasses and contacts! The staff were really friendly and professional - picking out frames can be a stressful process, but they let me try on as many as I needed and broke down the costs so I knew how much I was paying and why. (Frames are expensive, but that's on my insurance and nothing they control.) Scheduling/checking appointments was easy; I don't think I ever waited for more than 5 minutes for anything. The doctor was thorough and professional. Plus they were happy to email me the photos they took of my eyeballs - that's good customer service IMO =P Good Covid practices too - everything you touch is either wiped down or covered with a disposable layer, and they encourage patients to wash their hands, which put me at ease. read more

Glasses aren't something you get too often, but what I do know is I won't be visiting any place else. The staff at this place are the most welcoming and joyful I've ever seen in a doctor's office. The equipment is all modern and up to date with technology I've never seen before. Almost everything was done with the click of a button so there wasn't any bulky out of date machinery. As a bonus the staff is all young and vibrant. It took me forever to find the proper frames and my time went way beyond closing and not once did the technician make me feel like I was a bother he continued to help me with grace and a smile. TL;DR Curt, unresponsive staff. Long wait times. No refund policy. I went in for an eye exam over the weekend scheduled through Zocdoc with the intention of simply getting the exam results and then getting frames elsewhere. While the exam itself was fine and I have no issue with Dr. Benjamin Arthur specifically, I do take issue with their staff. I was sold on a pair of expensive frames that was I tepid about purchasing but purchased anyway. The following day I emailed in requesting to cancel the order. After receiving no response for over 48 hours, I sent a follow-up email which received no response. I then called into the office only to be put on hold and switched over to the rep that sold my glasses, after mentioning my name. As if my email was received, read, and ignored but can only be addressed if I called. I was then told that there was no refund policy and that I had just better deal with that. read more

Dr. Ben Arthur is a good optometrist. Prompt, patient, efficient, and good at answering my questions concisely. Absolutely no issues with him. What really sold me, however, was the staff. First off the front desk staff had a bad attitude, and wasn't able to give a detailed explanation about my insurance and prescription questions. The doctor, was just as bad. Very unprofessional, and didn't ask me any basic questions! I was shocked when the doctor didn't even ask me to read a small set of letters before giving me a prescription!! When it was time for me to leave he awkwardly abandoned me, without asking if I had any questions, or even shaking my hand to end the appointment. I was surprised that he was so removed especially given that it was my first time meeting him, and this is supposed to be my future doctor-hell no! I don't want to go on and on but I will not be going back to this place, and neither should you if you want to find an eyecare provider that actually cares about their patients. I just want to add to this review that after this appointment I went to get glasses from SEE. I asked for the glasses to be redone twice because things were still blurry when I left the store. DO NOT GO HERE: this doctor made me cry after three separate visits, until I had finally had it and left the practice. He not only gave me the wrong prescription, but he proceeded to tell me my prescription had been wrong before because of my own actions and to call me names and refuse to look into a different prescription. When I went back to his office again, he refused to correct the incorrect prescription and yelled at me in front of his entire office and staff. I will file a formal complaint, but LISTEN to the other reviews about his rudeness, gaslighting, and lack of respect for patients. I went to Dr. Arthur for an eye exam, and my experience was great. His staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with me even though I'm not the easiest person to perform an eye exam on. The staff members did refer to their notes a lot concerning certain tasks, but I can't be mad at them for that because they are just making sure that they do their jobs correctly. Dr. Arthur seemed like the "no nonsense" type to me and explained everything to me in a way that I could easily understand. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. My initial experiences with this office were quite pleasant, clean office, friendly and helpful staff, efficient doctor. However, the tides quickly turned. I called the day after my appointment expressing concerns with the contact lenses he had prescribed. In my experience with contact fitting, you receive a trial lens and test it out for a week for committing. When I went back with an appointment, Dr. Arthur, refused to check out my eyes, refused to reconsider the lenses and told me something was wrong with me and not the contacts. When I expressed that my vision was a little blurry, he implied that I was lying and became very aggressive. I asked for a refund if he would not adjust my prescription and he once again refused and told me to go somewhere else. I expressed that his job was to ensure patient satisfaction and he stated his job was time in a chair and expertise. I have never been spoken to, so rudely, and never in my 15 years of wearing contacts had an appointment of this regard. I will absolutely, never return here. read more

I'm infuriated with Dr. Benjamin Arthur's staff for disrespecting my time and insulting my intelligence. Leading up to my appointment the staff was in constant contact with me: reminding me of my appointment, enquiring if I got my voucher from my insurance, and reminding me to bring it in. When I arrived for my appointment, the staff took all my insurance cards to make copies and had me signed the voucher. After which, I sat to fill out my medical history etc. About five minutes later I was told that I will have to pay "up front" for whatever service the doctor provided and I will be reimbursed when my insurance pays. The explaination did not follow logical reasoning, and was sounding like "scam" so I walked out. Apparently, they are enticing patients into the facility only to spring their unscrupulous schemes on them. Despite, the fact I didn't meet the doctor, what are the odds that he don't know what his staff is up to? read more

My husband and I were walk-ins to this office. Luckily, we got an on the spot appointment. The staff- The entire staff was amazing. I actually found this office doing an arbitrary search for eye-testing in our area. Front desk receptionist, she was so fun she helped me with trying on different styles of lenses. The doctor - Really, really happy with Dr. Ben, what a professional. We received a comprehensive examination. Never felt rushed, he answered ALL of my questions ( I had a lot) patiently.
