Never in my life did I think I would be writing a review for a dry cleaner, but here goes! So I went to drop off a winter coat and sweater, after winter so they could be stored clean and ready to wear next season. I dropped them off no problem, went to go pick them up about 3-4 days after the expected finish date on my receipt and nothing had been done to the garments. A very nice pregnant woman helped me and I pointed out to her the spots I had specifically brought them in for, and she was able to scrape the spots of dirt off with her fingers, said that was unacceptable, and told me they would redo them no charge, which is great. Which was after she found them because she was unable to at first and told me they had been put in the system wrong and that it was a skirt and shirt according to the computer....Didn't really care because its spring and Im not in need of my items. She told me they were backed up and the new pickup date would be a week from that day. I go in 8 days later to pick them up and an older gentleman told me that he couldn't find me ANYWHERE in the system and I had to show him my 2nd receipt to prove to him that I indeed had items the store. He went to the back to grab a young man who came out and told me that they hadnt been put in the "rush" area and they werent done yet. 8 days is a rush? You're kidding. At this point I just told them very nicely I hoped they hadnt lost my items because the combined value was $1500. Fast forward to almost a month after the initial drop off for pickup attempt #3. I go in to pick them up and the older man who had been so rude who helped me before was there and I mentioned to him I hoped the items were ready becasue it was my 3rd trip to pick them up, he didnt respond. Pulls them out and doesnt even bother checking them to make sure they are clean and acts annoyed when I check them to make sure that the spots had actually been taken care of. I am incredibly disappointed and SHOCKED that after 3 attempts to pick up, and almost a month, I was still charged for the service and wasnt even apologized to, no attempt at customer service recovery was made, and I was very understanding through the whole process. The only reason they get more than 1 star is because they didnt lose my items. Will not be returning. read more

I left crying with my wedding dress in a ball-- my wrinkled dress had clearly been on the bottom of a dirty clothes heap. I was told the timeline for cleaning the dress was 4 weeks, but that they would expedite & spot clean in time for my alterations appointment-- this was noted on the intake form. I was told, it was written down, & two staff were consulted & on board with the course of action-- I would be able to pick up my spot cleaned dress at 11am the day of my alterations. I called the morning I was to pick it up & was told that it wasn't done, hadn't been touched, and I could pick it up. It was shoved at me in a heap and there was no apology, no accountability, & in fact they blamed me. My husband stopped in as he used to use them for his work clothes & was told a different story than the one I relayed-- again, no apology, and apparently zero interest in customer satisfaction. Devastated that such an important garment was treated so terribly. read more

Regarding alterations: Someone wrote that "at least they did not lose mine" but my jeans are lost. When I went to pick them up a week after the promised date, the woman said rather curtly, if I wasn't texted, they were not finished. Guess I'll never get that text. 5stars to the laundry. For almost 2 months, I've been looking for a fabulous sparkly dress for my upcoming LasVegas birthday trip! I'd been to almost every shop in the area with no luck. But today, I stopped into Persnickety and I found not only one but TWO absolutely amazing dresses! And... they were on SALE!! The whole crew took such good care of me! From helping to select the perfect dress(es) to assisting with trying everything on, to just genuinely amazing customer service, they rock!!! I'll definitely be back in the future!! Persnickety Dry Cleaners in my opinion are very overpriced. In most U.S. cities, the average cost for a men's dress shirt is around $1.75, sometimes as low as a dollar. A woman's blouse is around $4.00. At Persnickety, they charge $3.17 for a men's shirt and an astonishing $9.17 for a woman's blouse. They charge $12.00 to clean a men's blazer and $9.00for slacks. This is highway robbery. Somebody please open up a reasonably priced dry cleaners in Bozeman. Also, I don't like that they don't publish their prices any where. CONSUMER BEWARE. Highway robbery. First off, never ask for a rush on an order. They charged a 25% rush fee for EACH item. Not only this, but their prices are through the roof. $8.18 for a tie, $18.90 for pants, $19.16 for 2-piece suit, $3.59 for shirts and $8.76 for suit vest. For 13 pieces of clothing I was charged $244.64. Compareable prices are much less in Bozeman please do you research. read more

We recently had 2 dress shirts, a dress and a pair of pants cleaned. Dropped them off on Monday and they had them done by Wednesday as we were told they would be. Pricing was reasonable and the customer service was great. The young man David that was working was very helpful and nice. We will definitely use again. read more

this is for the new one on main st. Took pants in on 5/3 and were promised they would be done on 5/6. They weren't. Nor were they done on 5/7 or 5/8. Finally got them on 5/9! They also promised to call us as soon as they arrived. No phone call either. If they were needed for a special occasion we would have been out of luck. The workmanship appears fine but a week to get a pair of pants done?? ridiculous !!! Never again and I suggest they change their name from persnickety cleaners to incompetent cleaners. read more

I took a Pottery Barn comforter in to get dry cleaned as my puppy had a pee accident on it. When I went in I showed the attendant where the spot was and they marked it and I informed them that is was pee and asked if they would be able to get it out. They said it would not be a problem. Well, I just pulled the comforter out of the packaging because I had put a different comforter on the bed in the meantime. I now I have guests coming and the comforter has a stain and still smells like pee. My expensive Pottery Barn comforter is now ruined. I paid $35.00 with no results!!!! If there is a stain that the dry cleaner cannot get out they should inform you and not clean it at all. I will not be back. read more

Can someone recommend elsewhere for hemming and dry cleaning. I have been here 4 times. We h time I never receive a phone call when my clothes are finished. I just have to guess. Another time they handed clothes back unhemmed, still charged for them. I took the home, wore them and realised. I brought them back, free of charge they fixed them. It took about a month, no phone call again when completed. In top of that the family is a nut job, rude and arragonant. My last review I did on them was deleted. I flew in from out of town for a wedding only to realize my dress needed to be dry cleaned. The wedding was taking place in Big Sky MT and I quickly found out there was no dry cleaners there. I called Persnickety Cleaners and explained my situation and the need for a quick turn around on my dress. I was already dreading having to spend more time driving just to pick up my dress than I wanted to. Doug was a huge help and said it would be no problem to have my dress not only dry cleaned but delivered to the lodge I was staying in Big Sky! I was shocked at how accommodating he was, I truly have never experienced that with any dry cleaner - it's usually a couple day turn around. My dress was delivered on time and looked great. I took my down comforter to the one in Livingston. When I picked it up, it was damp and smelled like mildew.

I went in to Persnickety's alteration location a couple weeks ago to get a pair of pants and a shirt tailored for a wedding I was attending the following week. They were extremely busy (I believe due to MSU's homecoming, and a number of simultaneous high school proms). I had been to every other place in town, and they were all too busy to finish my alterations by the time I needed them, which was admittedly pretty short notice. However, Persnickety told me that they could have them done, albeit for an added rush cost, and proceeded to measure me for the alterations on the spot. They called me the next week, had me come in for a couple minor touch ups to the hems, and I walked out on time to catch my flight to the wedding. They pulled through on their time estimate, the clothes fit amazingly, and the shirt was pressed without me even asking. The employees were pleasant and cracked some great jokes, even in the midst of what I know was a stressful week. Great service, I'm impressed! read more

I have been using Persnickety for years and to date have appreciated their service, but my last interaction will keep me from ever going back. I had an expensive dress that was "lost" for a few days, then found, so they called to describe the dress to me and everything was correct about the dress except the brand. When I received the garment, it was obvious that the tag had been cut out and a different (less expensive designer) tag had been replaced. I called to speak with the manager to let him know of this concerning instance and he told me he didn't believe me and that I was wrong. I offered to come in with the dress to show him the obviously replaced tag and he again refused to believe me saying it could not have happened there. I understand backing your employees, but as a very long term customer, I would also hope that they would listen to me. I would not trust my clothing to be handled by them in the future. read more
