I had such a wonderful experience at Poppy Bride! I am from California and happened to be in Bozeman visiting family a week after I got engaged. Since my mom and I live in different states we knew this could be one of the only opportunities we had to go wedding dress shopping together. Poppy Bride was the only shop open on the holiday weekend... and I am SO grateful they were! Katalin (the owner of the family run bridal/flower/design/planning company) welcomed us warmly and assured us she was happy to have us even without an appointment. Two hours and twenty dresses later I had my choices narrowed down to three! Soon 5 more of my family members arrived and she helped me try on the final three over and over for everyone to see. Katalin knew it was the first time I had tried on any bridal gowns and made me feel zero pressure to buy anything that day. So we chose to leave but she gave us her personal card just in case we needed anything. After hours of debating I texted Katalin at 7:30pm, she met me back in her shop after, let me try on the dress AGAIN, and happily packed it for me so I could take it home on my flight the next morning at 5am! I was blown away by Katalin, her knowledge and connections in the bridal industry is incredible. I spent an hour or so trying on dresses and this was our 4th store we had been to. All the dresses started to look to same and I wasn't in love with any of them. Ultimately, I was going to go with this plain Jane dress from a different store. Katalin then said, "I have a dress in mind and I really think you will like it, would you come try it on if I have it shipped in from NYC?" Honestly, I didn't want her to put in more time and effort if I was going to go with a different dress. Katalin at Poppy Bride brings the newest trends in bridal to our little town. Poppy Bride is a one-stop shop where you can get your tux, dress, accessories, and flowers! In her gorgeous studio you will find the most amazing designer wedding dresses, jewelry, head pieces, etc. My personal experience was wonderful! Katalin styled both me and my father and made my bouquet. My dress was from Tiadora bridal and it fit like a glove. It was so classy with lace and a long row of buttons, the back....oh my! (See photos). Katalin sewed up my bustle so it hung beautifully in photos and made for easy walking. My dad who hadn't worn a suit since his own wedding (35 years ago) looked like he just stepped off the pages of GQ magazine. Katalin is an out-of-the-box thinker and will bring her creative touch to your special day. For example, she did an on-the-spot boutineer made out of the native plants of AZ where we were married. Katalin drummed up a local musician to play the coolest slide guitar music as we walked down the isle. My bouquet was gorgeous, made of forget-me-nots and other blue and white flowers and a touch of Italian silk ribbon flowing in the breeze. I can't say enough about how our special day was made so wonderful by the inclusion of Katalin Green of Poppy Bride. You will not be disappointed. This was our first stop of the day and it was very disheartening to have such a bad experience for a first time bride. The consultant wouldn't allow the bride or her family and friends to pick out any dresses, let alone even look at any of them. She then made rude comments throughout the appointment and even made comments to the bride about her family. I felt disrespected and none of us will be recommending this shop to anyone we know. So, the flowers were nothing short of amazing. I wish i had more pictures of them!! My bouquet was a gorgeous contrast of white and black with white poppies and white anemones and the bridesmaids bouquets were beautiful dark crimson with red poppies and red anemones. All the centerpieces at the reception mirrored the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets. Avant was even able to solve a last minute emergency when the vases we chose didn't fit on the tables. I have used them on multiple occasions after my wedding to send birthday arrangements to friends and family. Their design is fantastic and i can't recommend them highly enough!!! read more

She was INCREDIBY rude! There were a few of us. If we made a comment about an item she suggested that we didn't feel was needed or thought looked better without it, she would throw the item(s) on the floor (this happened a few times), if any of us gave an opinion on something about the look she would roll her eyes, she was mouthing things when her back was turned. She didn't know it, but we could see her in the mirror. At one point she got mad, went to take the veil off her head pulling her hair and head back. She told us that one dress was a specific price but later stated it was a different price. No prices on anything. Before we left two of us went to use the restroom. Apparently, she came out from back room and threw her hands up in the air, she thought we left and said: "What's the deal?!" to the others. There is so much more I could say but won't. We also received a message from another party while there telling us she is a scammer and what she promises, doesn't come to fruition. In other words, she lies about things to make the sale. She was NO help showing you what could be done or help show what something would look like when it is altered to fit correctly. Her dresses are not high-quality material. She is one of those individuals that would try to sell you beach front property in the Artic. Such a waste of time and very disappointing. Oh, and it was absolutely freezing in there! I booked my appointment on September 20th for October 2nd and was confirmed. When we arrived for our appointment, the store wasn't open and no one was there. I called to no avail. I find this completely unprofessional and unreliable. Wedding dresses are extremely large purchases and you have to trust that your vendor will be ready and available and come through. Not only have I had this experience - I've had friends with similar experiences. This is not how I'd like to remember this wonderful time (that you only get once). read more

I was heartbroken that this place blew off my bridal appointment! I had the ladies and my mama in tow and we were so excited to find the wedding dress of my dreams, but sadly this place must not need business very badly if they can't even keep a scheduled appointment! Such a disappointment to show up at our confirmed time to find the shop dark and locked up. We called and called and now, 3 weeks later, they still haven't bothered to return our call or apologize. This is a nice bridal shop that carries beautiful dresses. Unfortunately the service I received was a huge disappointment. The positives: Avant has a lovely boutique feel, with a large dressing room and french doors that open to your friends/family. Great set up to 'reveal' each dress you try on. The negatives: The woman who helped me was unfriendly and rude. Rather than help guide me to the right designer, she seemed frustrated and made rude remarks about my lack of knowledge about the designers. I was not sure why I should be an expert on dress designers at my very first appointment? The attendant also was visibly unimpressed with the budget I gave her, which I found to be unprofessional and a bit insulting. read more

Avant Floral did our daughters wedding at Big Sky Resort and the flowers were picture perfect in fact everything our daughter envisioned. Mindy, is an artist when it comes to design and everything was topnotch. We can't wait to see the photos of the wedding. There were many comments on how beautiful everything looked. What took the other planners six months to NOT complete--Katalin did in 5 days! No exaggeration. Not only did she pull together ALL new vendors, snapped our budget back into shape, and arranged the most gorgeous florals I've ever seen--she managed to coach my family through the high emotion and stress that come along with a large wedding. With Katalin, everyone and everything was taken care of. She's trustworthy, kind, CALM, and collected. Im currently living in Great Falls and My sister is getting married in Ohio. She picked a beautiful Bill Levkoff dress and told all the bridesmaids to measure themselves and "just buy the biggest size it reccommended to buy". Well it would give one size reccomendation if your bust was one size, a second size reccomendation if your waist was another size and a third reccomendation for hips. Lucky me my measurements told me 3 separate sizes and only 1 of them was the size i normally wear. i was stressed out! I messages Poppy Brides and they opened on Sunday (the only day i could get myself to Bozeman) to try on a Bill Levkoff dress to get a feel for their sizing. Poppy Bride completely saved the day and if it werent for them I would have spent mass amounts of money on alterations! I have never written a review about anything, but absolutely had to for Poppy Bride. Katalin gave me the most amazing experience I could have ever dreamed of! After being extremely discouraged with a few prior appointments, I went into her shop and left with the most beautiful dress I could have ever hoped for, and the "glow" a bride-to-be should have. Not only was she the most knowledgeable bridal consultant I have ever dealt with, her dress selection was stunning, high quality, and so beautifully unique! The fabric of the dresses she chooses is unreal...every dress I tried on was so comfortable! She taught me about accessorizing to best fit the dress and my body type, and instead of trying to "hide" my insecurities, she mentioned everything she thought was beautiful about me, and concentrated on those things.
