Our August wedding in Big Sky would have never been the same without Katalin's creative genius. Months before the big day, my mother and I met with Katalin for an afternoon of wedding planning on a brisk Saturday in April. After greeting us with hot tea (thank the heavens) and a tour of her beautiful studio, Katalin immediately jumped into making my wedding vision come to life. To say that we walked out of that meeting feeling excited is an understatement - Katalin was not only incredibly creative and professional, but her love and passion for her work had truly shone through. We couldn't wait to see what she came up with! When the wedding day rolled around, I was not at all surprised to see that Katalin exceeded all expectations. She created gorgeous floral wreaths for my hair and each of my bridesmaids, bouquets that were so beautiful that I teared up when I saw them, boutonnières that had the MEN gushing (seriously, not even joking! Who knew that men liked thistle?!), a ceremony arch dripping in blush and cream flowers as well as wild greenery, and even incorporated ethereal design elements such as blush feathers and wheat to act as a nod to my family from Oklahoma...it was a dream come true. As if that weren't enough (yes, I'm not done with my review yet)...we hired Katalin as our florist but she made sure to take the entire 'vision' of the wedding to mind when crafting her arrangements. Katalin stayed in contact with me throughout the planning process and would reach out to me with ideas that she had outside of floral arrangements to help to enhance other design elements unique to the day, such as the table arrangements and our ceremony site. (Case in point: My husband and I were married on top of a beautiful bison rug that she loaned to us a few days before the ceremony to help complete the look! Brilliant!) Long story short, we can't even begin to think of what our wedding would have looked like without Katalin. I could gush on and on, but seriously - this woman knows her stuff and will stop at nothing to transform your day into the most special and unique experience possible. read more

I worked with Katalin for my Montana wedding at Yellowstone Valley Lodge in August 2025. She has an incredible eye for design and florals. Everything she created was truly beautiful and reflected the aesthetic I desired perfectly. She worked so well with my budget too! I did find the planning and organization side of the process challenging, especially with me being out of state and more type A. Communication, structure, and organization weren't as consistent or helpful as I had hoped, which made some parts of planning more stressful. Overall, she's a talented floral and design artist, but if you're looking for strong logistical support or are planning from out of state, I'd recommend clarifying expectations early on! read more

My husband and I had our wedding this past summer in Paradise Valley and were fortunate to have Katalin Green as our wedding planner. I agree with the other negative reviewer that i had hoped to never have had to write such a negative review but truth be told... Katalin Green created such a toxic situation leading up to and on my daughter's wedding day. Very unprofessional, rude to vendors and guests. Especially rude to the bride on her wedding day. Our photographer said she had never been treated so rudely by a wedding planner. During the rehearsal she never said a word. The officiant directed everything.... Unprofessional business practices. Almost all final invoices were presented a few days before the wedding while all family and guest had arrived. Most were wrong too, not good at the last minute. Many major items were forgotten as well and orders for linens on those were wrong as well.. The flower girl's headpiece was not included in the final order. Bridal bouquet pictures and all flower arrangement pictures had been "inadvertently deleted from her text.." per her words in a text two weeks before the wedding. We had several meetings months prior to the wedding. There was no excuse for the last minute invoices or lost notes. The wedding dress was ordered through her as well a year before the wedding. The dress arrived made wrong. Please consider other options for wedding planners in Montana. We felt taken advantage of and that our ideas weren't good enough... rolling of the eyes when presenting your wishes. How very sad.... You hire a wedding planner to help alieviate stress and she did nothing but cause it. We were advised to write this by a few vendors who had dealt with her in the past, so future brides have some input from past bride's experiences. I have spoken to others who have had the same experience with her. Buyer beware. Despite the rebuttal by vendor, I stand my ground. Katalin Green designs was the best decision I made in regards to my wedding and was basically the only decision I actually needed to make. I was married this summer at Big Sky Resort. Katalin was able to make me feel like I was the only bride she was working with this summer. For those who know me this will not come as a surprise, but I completely over committed myself in the months leading up to the wedding and took on way more than I could handle. Katalin did all of the flowers for my wedding. I could not be happier with the designs she did! Based off of one pinterest picture, she created my dream of an "elegant, woodsy atmosphere." Her rates are very reasonable for the beyond professional experience she gave us. We got a ton of compliments on all of the flowers and the atmosphere she created for us. She was always there with a smile when I needed to ask her something and made you feel at home! Other florists I visited made me feel that my budget was "beneath them" and made me feel like I wasn't worth their time. Not the case with Katalin. We held an engagement party for our daughter and dear friends had ordered some flowers to be delivered to the party last Saturday. They were re assured they would arrive by 3:00pm. We arrived and no flowers! When we tried to call we got the recording and both my friend and myself left messages. Monday morning I still had not heard anything, I called a 3rd time around 10:30 and someone finally answered I explained what happened and her response was, oh someone must have forgotten to deliver them. I'll just credit their credit card. She never offered to make it better and had a rather oh well, so sorry attitude. This nay not have been important to her but it was to my friends who were not able to attend. She called my friend and told her the same thing, she never offered to do anything until my friend asked her what she was going to do, and she responded what do you want me to do? really?? She asked her to deliver the flowers that day. Which she reluctantly did. She claimed she does not check her messages on weekends and that she was busy with a wedding in Big Sky, if was not able to make the delivery she should not have taken the order and re assured my friend that she would make sure it was delivered. She charged her 125.00 for flowers she put in a vase, that you could by on 800-flowers for 60.00!! what a rip off, glad she is not doing our wedding and i definitely would never recommend them. read more

Katalin is such a special soul and creative talent. We had our wedding in West Glacier during August of 2015, at the height of one of the worst fire seasons. Three fires roared outside of our venue and the highway was closed a quarter mile from our venue. The smoke was thick and we didn't even know if the ceremony could happen... Then Katalin showed up, with the most beautiful flower arrangements - and every element of our smoky situation immediately turned fresh and alive. I would prefer to never have to write a negative review but after much thought, I've decided that I would not want another bride to have to endure the lack of professionalism that my daughter and I did while planning and executing her wedding. Although I had some experience working as a planner/coordinator, we decided to hire a local professional so that I could be an "MOB" and enjoy our daughter's wedding and be assured that all the details would be covered. I knew that I would be able to work alongside this person assisting with ideas and materials while drawing on their talents and skills to design the wedding of our daughter's dreams. This was a destination wedding for our daughter, and we wanted to work with local vendors who knew their resources best. We made a trip to Montana to choose the venue & interview other vendors in mid-August, 2013 and set a December 14, 2013 wedding date. Upon a recommendation, Katalin was able to meet with us on rather short notice, which we appreciated. To be clear, let me start by describing what we contracted for with Katalin Green Design and Avant Floral (two parts of one company both headed by Katalin Green). We chose to have the full wedding planning and execution package, as well as having them do all of the floral and décor for the wedding. This was to include all necessary planning prior to the wedding as well as full coordination of the weekend events. Although we made several attempts to contact her, Katalin did not move forward with the planning or a proposal for pricing until late October. This was less than 2 months before the wedding date. There were many emails unanswered, phone conferences cancelled, and we were never given a final proposal that covered all the details discussed. To say that we were concerned would be an understatement. It did not get much better on the wedding weekend. Among the many things that she did not handle well or at all: she was very rude to the wedding party at the rehearsal and didn't seem to know how to have the wedding party process (the maid of honor and best man first?); there was no finished timeline provided to us, let alone the wedding party; she did not arrive until midday on the day of the wedding and subsequently did not finish setting up which left her no time to "coordinate" anything day of; the tables for the reception were not laid out as planned or with the correct number of guests at any table , she decided to LEAVE once the reception began, leaving the venue manager to coordinate first dance, toasts, cake cutting, and other evening events. Although when asked, she told my daughter and I that she was not working any other events that day, we were able to positively determine that she did indeed have another wedding. We asked her this because we had heard from another vendor that she was also working with another bride and wanted to ensure that she would be devoting the necessary time to our daughter's wedding. In addition, we were not given many items which we were billed for including several floral pieces and were charged for a hotel room that she booked for herself the night of the wedding which, given the timing of her departure, was not needed. Now, in the spirit of being fair, I want to give her credit where due. The floral work that Katalin and her staff at Avant Bridal did was lovely. The bouquets were beautiful and the tables looked amazing! It is just too bad that her commitment and execution to the planning/coordinating process was so horrible that our happiness with that was overshadowed by disappointment. In the end, the wedding was a beautiful event in spite of all of the difficulty we had getting to it. I did contact Katalin directly after the wedding and she chose not to respond. We loved having the wedding in beautiful Big Sky, Montana and had the privilege of working with many wonderful people whom I have left reviews for as well. Although I believe that hiring a planner/coordinator for a wedding is always a good idea, I would never recommend Katalin Green Designs to anyone. read more

Destination wedding for all, but my husband and I, who live in Bozeman. The wedding was at our house in Bridger Canyon. Twas epic, dreamy, perfection. I hiked in the morning - the 'M,' of course! Spent the afternoon sunning and laughing with family and friends in the backyard while the beehive of wedding central was orchestrated unobtrusively by Katalin and her associates in the front yard. Completely calm, carefree, confident and excited - I was swimming in our pond an hour before the wedding. The nuptial's took place at the pond's edge. 125 guests, many first timers to MT from Chicago and the east coast, arrived on decorated school buses from downtown hotels. With glasses of Prosceco in hand they strolled down the mowed path in the hay field to the magical scene of wooden benches draped in vintage blankets. Upon the announcement of, "husband and wife," the dramatic sky offered a sprinking of raindrops followed by a divine rainbow!!! Truly spectacular! No detail was missed and the professionalism unmatched. To sum up our daughter's wedding, family and friends all proclaimed they felt as if they had been in a movie - the feel good, sigh, everything is alright with the world kind. She did such an amazing job and an incredible amount of work on our wedding several years ago that I've recently engaged with her again to plan a nonprofit event with me, which she is also doing fabulously! I've worked and lived all over the country, and I would put her above or on par with any of the event designers that I've used for my corporate clients and that I've seen at other events. I'm so GRATEFUL SHE WAS RECOMMENDED to me by another family whose daughter's wedding she planned in Helena, which was amazing! I can't say enough good things about Katalin Green and her team for wedding and event planning. I live in Helena now, but when I got married several years ago, I was living in Washington, DC, and we couldn't have done our wedding in Big Sky without Katalin. Our wedding was a big and complicated event with 250+ people coming to Big Sky from all over the country, and Katalin managed the whole weekend and all the details seamlessly. Her services are an amazing value - for the amount of time she spent working on our wedding, we SHOULD HAVE PAID HER 5 TIMES AS MUCH! She was always available to us, and she was an amazing problem solver. Events can be stressful, and she is the PERSON YOU WANT HELPING YOU IN A CRISIS. In addition to being calm, smart, and efficient, she has wonderful relationships with so many vendors that she can get whatever you want/need done! I had my wedding dress altered several times out East at a large department store, and when it arrived in Montana on Wednesday before our wedding, the DRESS DID NOT FIT because they had taken it in too much! She was able to find a very talented tailor who was able to work with the thick expensive silk and other fabrics and let the dress out perfectly in 36 hours. I would have just had to roll the dice to find someone without Katalin, and I don't know if anyone would have been willing to do that task in such a short amount of time, had Katalin not had a preexisting relationship with him/her. She is the consummate professional who takes her work very seriously. She is always pleasant, is very smart, and has a witty and dry sense of humor. While she did not always agree with everything we wanted for our wedding, she was able to do everything we needed and even helped us find better solutions for things as well. She also HELPED US KEEP OUR COSTS DOWN. My husband and I paid for most of our wedding ourselves, and she helped us plan a gorgeous wedding within our budget. While we did not end up renting the nicer chairs (lol!), she did INCREDIBLE THINGS WITH THE LIGHTING, FLOWERS, AND EVENT DESIGN. The room where we had our reception has never looked better. The flowers were perfect, the table settings were gorgeous, the cake vendor she recommended was able to transform my grandmother's red velvet cake recipe into a gorgeous wedding cake, and we were able to get wine and liquor at great prices for the event too. She REALLY HANDLED ALL THE DETAILS from scheduling, to putting out our name cards, to orchestrating our favors and gift bags, to working with our 24 person wedding party, to handling anything that came up.
