We came across Stephen. He was within our budget and he was excellent. Played every song we requested within the time frame we had. The only downside was that our reception was only 4 hours long so not all of our songs were played, but all of our "must" ones were. Seven months before the wedding the original DJ told me he had to cancel our wedding because he accidently double booked us with a larger corporate event. Panic. Wedding day was a blur but Steve was already set up well before the ceremony, including having a second location to set up where the cocktail hour was being held. The audio system was very clear and there were no feed back issues. Also the speakers were laid out in the reception room inconspicuously. DJ Perry knocked it out of the park for our wedding!! I have so many good things to say! My husband and I decided to let guests write down a song request on their RSVP cards ("I promise to dance if I hear this song") so we had quite an unusual assortment of music requests - songs from YMCA to Despacito to Cha Cha Slide. Somehow DJ Perry made all of these flow seamlessly and the dance floor was packed the entire night. Many of our older guests commented to my parents on how great the music was and how much they enjoyed that there were songs to meet everyone's tastes. One guest even broke her shoes dancing so much. Going into the event, we met with DJ Perry in person prior to signing a contract. Afterwards, most of our communication was through email and his music request software. The software was great and helped us to think through a lot of things we otherwise wouldn't have thought of. For areas that we didn't have a lot of opinions on, he filled in the gaps perfectly (for example, dinner music). On the day of, DJ Perry showed up early and did a great job on MCing, and even allowed the Best Man to coordinate with him on playing some music during his toast. He helped us keep to our schedule and helped us keep the flow of our event going. Also, he had some lights he set out on the dance floor which created a cool effect and added to the party atmosphere! Not only does Steve's program allow you to request/change songs whenever you want, you can specify songs for the cake cutting, first dance, last dance, you can put in the order of your bridal party, you can put down the order you want to be announced, who needs extra microphones, if you want extra lights, an much more. We planned a shotgun wedding with about 200 people, because I was 5 months pregnant!!!!! Steve was the DJ for our friends' wedding the year prior. I am pretty picky with music--I am a snob actually, but my husband loves top hits radio music just fine. We only really had a month from the time we contacted Steve to the day of the wedding. He worked with us over the phone and a few emails, because we were both working full time and had long commutes. We met with him once at a cafe to give his some Vietnamese songs, which couldn't have possibly been on his list of choices. He was very easy to work with even though I had all the music in the wrong format and wasted a bunch of his time!!!! The music at our wedding was just as I wanted and more. When we arrived at the wedding venue expecting him to arrive at the same time. Steve had already arrived an hour beforehand and set up and had soft music playing! You can not believe how his preparedness lowered our stress. He threw in some songs that everyone loved. He actually blends one song with the next very well so there's no abrupt stop. He is an intuitive crowd pleaser. At one point, he played a song I requested but everyone left the dance floor! He was quick enough to look over to our wedding table and there was a silent nod between us and he changed to a different song right away and everyone was dancing again. I love weddings and have been to at least 15. But we have never seen a wedding with so much dancing!!!!!!! It was absolutely wonderful and insanely happy wedding!
