We found her approach to be insensitive, as she immediately began questioning the cancer treatment our dog had been getting under our vets guidance. It felt hostile, judgmental and really pointless considering we called her to assist him in crossing the rainbow bridge. I'm writing this almost a year after our experience but I really wanted to say thank you to Dr.Perry. Our family dog, an 11-year-old English Lab Luna was sick for weeks but one morning she woke up and we could tell that she was ready to pass one. Our normal vet was closed and Luna was too weak to be able to get into the car and tolerate a ride to an emergency clinic. Dr.Perry was patient and kind when I called to see if she could help. She even worked with my schedule so I could travel 2 hours back to my parent's home so I could be with Luna. I asked if I could pay for the service while my parents were distracted so they didn't have to worry about the cost, she was very discreet and my parents didn't even know when I went to pay. She assessed Luna and told us the facts and let us make the final decision without any pressure. She explained the process step by step, assured us that she wouldn't feel any pain, and gave us time to be with Luna while the sedative kicked in. Our first dog, Sunny, was euthanized at a vets office. I wish we had a service like this back then so he could be at home with family when he passed. Thanks to Dr.Perry, Luna was able to pass peacefully in the comfort of her own home, in her favorite spot sitting on the deck, eating peanut butter straight from the jar and surrounded by family. I cannot express how grateful I am for everything she did. Afterward, Dr.Perry kept in touch and hand-delivered Luna's paw prints and ashes to my parent's house. Sadly I had to put my beloved cat down after 17 loving years. I wanted to do it at home since being at the vets office is pretty stressful for him. I tried 8 mobile vets with no luck (everyone was too busy or didn't call me back) and I was ready to give up hope of being able to do it peacefully at home. When I called Dr. Perry, she answered, talked me through everything, and was patient even through my tears. She came out the same day and lovingly helped Frankie with the transition. She wore a mask but allowed us to hug and kiss and snuggle him however we were comfortable and she worked around us, which was important to me in our final moments. She handled the cremation and paw and nose prints and hand delivered his remains within a few weeks. She answered all of my questions and truly handled us with care.
