I went in with a VERY specific design that I had come up with, not realizing that I was cutting out the majority of a tattoo artist's value of being the artists they truly are, but because of my story and the meaning the design carried, she agreed to do it for me. Denise took either my very rough doodles or just rough ideas and went beyond my highest expectations every time. People really go nuts for her work. I get stopped on the street constantly. Heck her tattoos have probably gotten me laid more than once if we are being honest :) Her custom work, much of which is freehand is where she really shines. She can do anything you ask but when you just let her run wild the results are fantastic. She is an extremely talented painter so her fine art sensibilities really add something wonderful to her aesthetic. She can take something that may have been done 1000 times in a traditional Asian or old school way and give it a Baroque European flair that is totally her own thing. Her ability to work with subtlety and shading is phenomenal. She's super honest and fair with all her clients. Her studio hygiene and quality of equipment are impeccable. She does super clean, crisp work that heals easily. She is very conscious of different skin types and ethnicities and how they react to a needle. Her hand is very light, so much that unless she is maybe working on my ribs I can actually fall asleep. I usually do not because Denise is such a great person to chill with. It's always a great experience. When you are doing something permanent, expensive and often very personal, you want to have not only great work but a great overall vibe and bedside manner from the artist. It has a copper ceiling and these fantastic light bulbs that make the mood perfect. Because Andrea knows my skin and I know the way she works, I will tell you what makes her exceptional. Because she used to work for another company, I suppose they had specific regimen they had to stick to. But now because this is her own space, she takes her time and it really makes you feel like you can relax and get a breath in. Generally speaking, you go to a facialist and they have a regular routine where they massage and mush your face, squeeze out the bad stuff and that's that, but with Andrea it's way different. First, she cleanses your skin if you have any makeup, then she examines your skin. She does a really thorough examination and bounces your skin, looks deeply, etc. From there, she'll ask you some questions like "how is your water intake? (mine is always bad wah!), what concerns do you have with your skin?" From there she builds a regimen particular for your own skin needs. She hand picks all the products she uses for her services as well as the products she uses on you! After a steaming process on your face to open up your pores, she extracts your face (if she feels necessary) and then treats your face with different masks. As she allows the masks to dry and what not, she treats your skin! She'll give you arm massages, shoulder massage and when your mask is done, she gives you the most luxurious, relaxing, 'i wish she could do this forever' facial massage. She takes her time and five minutes in, I'm struggling to stay awake because I really want to treasure each and every moment of this glorious facial massage! Andrea is very knowledgeable, thorough and gives off such positive vibes. She does a great job of feeding off of your vibes - if she senses you're stressed, she'll give you time to really decompress, if she realizes you have lots of energy, she's always up for chatting. I have always loved Andrea and her services, but now that she has her own space to do what she wants, they are even better than ever! I would not hesitate for one second to recommend her!
