Berry Good Thyme, Watermelon Crawl and Maple Old Fashioned
    Lauren P.

Perlick is a great place to get cocktails when you're up north--I've visited annually for the past three years when staying at my friend's cabin in Cumberland. Over the past few years, I've tried several drinks on the menu showcasing their housemade maple Yeoman vodka. This time, I ordered the Berry Good Thyme and Cardamom Pear shrub, but the sip of my friend's Watermelon Crawl was my favorite as I've never had a watermelon cocktail before. It really tasted like fresh watermelon juice. The distillery itself is on gorgeous grounds, surrounded by blooming sunflower fields in mid-August. Perlick has plenty of outdoor seating on the patio, plus a few tables inside. You can find a food truck there sometimes, too. Just make sure to check the hours as they close at 7pm on most nights! By the way--I'd recommend taking home a bottle of the maple vodka. It makes a mean maple white Russian!

I stopped by Perlick for an after-lunch cocktail and liked it so much, I returned for breakfast and a Bloody Mary the next day! The array of drinks is impressive, and the cost is very reasonable. The best part is that the drinks aren't too sweet, which is an issue I have with a lot of cocktails. They've got a list of seasonal and standard list of cocktails. They're currently only offering vodka, but they'll have malt whiskey next summer. Here's what I had: Basic fall drink - Loved it! It was very coffee-forward. The server says it's their most popular seasonal drink. Dusk to dawn - Very Instagramable and yummy. It comes out layered, but be sure to stir it after you take your pictures. Bloody Mary - Solid drink. You can pick up to two infused vodkas to flavor it. I tried the garlic + horseradish and the jalapeño + horseradish. I was hoping it'd be spicier, but it was still good. You can also order food from The Roost of Sarona. They'll bring it right to your table! This distillery is in a picturesque location surrounded by farm fields. I plan to return next summer for their sunflower field maze! There's a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating to make it a year-round destination. I also was surprised to see that they have electric vehicle charging stations. This place is a must-visit!

Excellent spirits, staff, and service! Outdoor patio is a great place to relax, head distiller was very friendly!

Great place out in the country, really, really well done. The owner greeted is at our outside table, and all the servers were friendly and helpful. Great view of the newly harvested wheat field and sunflower maze. Enjoyed our cocktail and the appetizer. Popular place with a friendly and casual atmosphere.

A lot more fun than we anticipated. They do a really good job of creating very tasty vodka cocktails in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We didn't partake in the food from the restaurant that delivers from down the road. Maybe next time.

Sexy drinks on a gorgeous day in a beautiful setting! Place was very busy but staff helped each other covering all the tables. Drinks were unique and tasty. The food from the nearby restaurant was delivered to our table probably within a 1/2 hr of ordering. Everything was delicious. Very nice place!

Perlick is a must visit distillery located in Sarona. The Perlick family owns and operates the farm next door and began distilling the grains that they have been cultivating for generations. Their Yeoman vodka is something special. The tasting room is an absolutely gorgeous space overlooking a farm field. The interior is a lower level with bar and tables. There is lofted area with more seating and from here you can see into the distillery. They have a wonderful deck and outdoor area for those long summer days. Their drink menu isn't extensive, they have standard options and seasonal drinks, a little something for everyone. Even though the list is not long, the options are usually very tasty. On our visit we tried some of the summer drinks, a long lake iced tea and a blackberry smash, both were very refreshing. All the staff are extremely friendly and checkin often to make sure you're not left thirsty. Often times the distiller is there and you can chat him up about the operations. If you find yourself in the northwoods stop by for a cocktail or two and enjoy the beauty!

Wow! A hidden gem in the country. This place is great. Nice family owned vodka distillery. Awesome Bloody Mary Bar, first pick your infused vodka. Very nice and friendly, we met the owner. Relaxing setting on the farm to look out over the fields and taste and drink vodka. Good menu of choices and plants of places to sit and enjoy. No food available

Tasting room is a repurposed barn! The distillery is on the first floor and tours are available.

I enthusiastically change my rating from three stars to five!…read more I visited Tamarack Farms with my family during our recent trip to Hayward and wow is this spot much improved from when I visited six years ago. Some things that stood out: * The farm pizza! This was delicious. We tried a couple including pepperoni and mac and cheese pizza. The crust was excellent as was the toppings. I was also impressed by how well the mac and cheese stayed on top of the pizza. The kids loved it too! * The brisket! My husband's aunt and uncle recommended this, and they weren't wrong. It was so tender. Just perfection! * The cornbread! If you ever had Famous Dave's cornbread, this is very similar, and for good reason. "Famous Dave" Dave Anderson owns Tamarack Farms. * The wine slushies! On a warm day, these hit the spot. It also feels like this restaurant has refined its approach. This includes the decor, the menu and how the restaurant is run. Where before we had to wait a while for our food, this time around everything seemed to run like a well oiled machine. Tamarack Farms also includes a fun selection of wine, so you could take some bottles home with you. The building is open and airy, with large garage doors. It's just a fun place all around. I hope it becomes a tradition that we come here whenever we're in the Northwoods.

I enjoyed the frozen margaritas. Very tasty and a good way to cool down. We got pizza and a salad. It was good thin crust pizza. The salad was super big and filling. They had a small menu but there were tons of families and adults hanging out. It was def a vibe!

When we arrived we headed straight to the tasting room. The staff were friendly and attentive. We decided on flights and they were served in proper tasting glasses on a board with oyster crackers. We headed out to the patio where there were several tables set up to enjoy the outdoor space. It was crowded! The yard had tents and trucks set up with activities and games for the kids as well as items for sale from different vendors. The reds were actually pretty good. I didn't know what to expect from grapes grown in WI but we had a good experience. We enjoyed music from the band and hung out in a nice relaxing atmosphere. We were checked on by the staff several times and were never left waiting for service. We enjoyed our time at Bunnycup Winery and will visit again.

Look no further--Bunny Cup Winery is your move. Just 20 minutes from Taylors Falls, MN (or St. Croix Falls, WI if you swing that way), Bunny Cup sits in the heart of Wisconsin cabin country--Luck, WI, right by Balsam Lake. Owned and operated by a down-to-earth couple from Woodbury, MN, this place is pouring up small-batch wines that are bold, fun, and not trying to be Napa. And thank God for that. You won't find any of that overpriced "barely flavored vinegar water" here--nope. Just real-deal, full-flavor wines that you'll actually want to drink again. Their motto? "Seriously Unfussy." Their energy? Spot on. Bring the kids. Bring your dog. Bring your weird uncle. No one's judging. Add in food trucks like Drool-Worthy Creations (yes, that's us) and live music from local legends, and you've got the kind of afternoon that makes summer feel like it used to. New destination? Maybe. Unexpected tradition in the making? Absolutely. Make the drive. Make a memory. See you this weekend.

We tried a few different flights of wine and flat breads and enjoyed the beautiful view of the vineyard. The place is truly breathtaking, and at the time, they had live music playing outside. Jenna made some very good recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed. ::Caution:: I still gave this place 5 stars because this has nothing to do with the service or the quality of the food or location, but we were picturing a nice, calm brunch, sipping on wine, not a Chuck E Cheese experience. Apparently, we were upgraded to the deluxe Chuck E Cheese package and were seated around lots of parents who decided to bring their young kids to a vineyard. The kids were running wild around tables and crying and screaming. Not one parent corrected their kids' behavior and just let them run around like free-range chickens. There were also people complaining that there were no non alcoholic drinks that they wanted at a vineyard. When I went inside there seemed to be no kids indoors. While another group could not control their kids and kept knocking things off the table, including glasses of wine. No one seemed to mind outdoors because most of the people had young kids, so be warned that this may be a possibility, so research your days before you go. Overall, if you remove the kids running wild and crying, the service was fantastic, the wine was good, lots of parking, the ambiance was incredible, and the food was good.
