While they can't hold a property for longer than 2 weeks, they were able to help assure me that they would make sure we get a rental we wanted. While we did take the risk of renting site unseen due to moving across country, the property itself came with very little issues, and they have been prompt at addressing the maintenance even with the holiday on Monday! If you're also looking into their properties, I recommend having some longer term patience as they let me know they were often busy with property management and assignments after the 6th of the month. Catching them at the tail end of one or the beginning of the next is ideal for getting the property you want!

Luckily I have a friend in the area who recommend a great realtor (Karen Eckenroth) and Diane Giannelli @ First Nations for the mortgage. From the moment I met Diane I felt very at ease & taken care of. She was welcoming and there was a good mood in her office, including in the other clients. She explained everything clearly and alerted me to some surprising mortgage programs I wasn't aware of. She was also concerned with the realities of our young family's overall transition plan, which I appreciated, having recently lost my mother. To this day I think of her as like a cool aunt- always warm & sincere if I call w/a question; always asks about my family. But make no mistake- she is a no-nonsense business professional! Everything happened just as she said it would, we got approved at a great rate and she knew exactly how to handle every step in the (not-so-fun) escrow process. I always felt confident in her competence as she clearly has a very strong work ethic and takes pride in everything she does. Her office and appearance was always immaculate, and she has an eager & helpful staff to assist. If I have one "complaint" it's that I couldn't always get her on the phone when I had whimsical little questions here and there during the escrow process (although the staff could always answer these questions readily). But that's a healthy sign overall, I think- like difficulty in getting reservations at a great restaurant. She's busy because she's good. Best way to summarize might be: after meeting Diane the first time, relieved, I spoke to my wife and told her, "I just met the Oprah of home loans!"

Coming from Northern California, we always dreamed of having some roots in JT, Yucca, or Twentynine Palms and with Merl and Dori's help, we found the second home of our dreams. Our time was a tad short for the search so we had created a list of 8-10 places and Merl made it happen - we saw everything in 2 days. Merl was honest and helpful explaining pros and cons, being a long time resident of this area. It is amazing how many people he knows. Every other stop, people came up to him saying hello. Once we took the plunge, when I drove 7-hours down to get the renovation started, he helped me remove some chollas (cacti with barbed spines) right when I arrived to make sure my 3 big dogs wouldn't have a tango with them. He genuinely cares that you find the best situation and have a good experience, knowing it's a difficult process and lots to consider.
