WARNING: Arizona Grass Fed Beef defrauds the public with poor quality, gristle-laden, inedible beef…read morewhile falsely marketing it as "premium". Read their reviews before you make the mistake of buying their meat. 2.2 out of 10 reviews on Yelp Arizona Grass Fed Beef advertises on their website that they sell "THE FINEST FREE RANGE GRASS FED BEEF ARIZONA HAS TO OFFER". THEY CLAIM IT IS "PASTURE RAISED, HAND CUT, PREMIUM QUALITY" I purchased 9 pounds of meat from them on the internet which was sight unseen and I had to prepay for it. They arranged for me to pick up my order at their sister store, Arcadia Meat Market which is owned by the same owners. The meat they sold me was so horrible I had no choice but to throw it away. It was tough and unchewable. The presence of excessive gristle and unchewable chunks in grass-fed ground beef is a strong indicator of low-quality meat sourcing, improper processing, and/or the use of older, tougher animals, culled breeding stock that have lived beyond their productive years and develop dense connective tissue due to age and muscle fatigue [B-6][A-7]. Consuming low grade, gristle-heavy meat is not just unpleasant it poses serious health risks leading to gut discomfort, bloating, and constipation. While gristle itself isn't harmful, its presence signals lower nutritional quality and potential digestive issues. Tough connective tissue is high in collagen but low in bioavailable nutrients like iron, zinc, and B vitamins compared to tender muscle meat. Gristle is largely indigestible due to its dense elastin and collagen content, which resist breakdown by stomach acids. This can cause discomfort, especially for those with sensitive digestion [A-1] [S-4]. Poor Butchering Practices: Inadequate trimming of sinew and silver skin before grinding can leave behind chewy, indigestible tissue. [S-1][A-3]. Arizona Grass Fed Beef advertises on their website that they are certified by the American Grassfed Association (AGA), one of the few legitimate grass-fed labels [B-6]. I looked up the American Grassfed Association and Arizona Grass Fed Beef is not a member. See attached label with no AGA certification. Misleading Labels: Terms like "grass-fed" and "natural" are unregulated, enabling companies to slap fraudulent claims on their meat [A-10]. High-quality ground beef should be fine-textured, slightly sticky, and free of visible white chunks (gristle). I have attached pictures of the ground beef I received which shows extensive gristle chunks throughout the meat. I tried contacting Arizona Grass Fed Beef after I received my order. Their website's return policy states: "We take pride in producing and delivering the best 100% grass fed & 100% grass finished beef products. If you are not satisfied with your product in anyway, please call our customer service. I called them, but they do not answer their phone. I left messages and never received a call back. I call Arcadia Meat Market where I picked up my order and I was told by their employee that they would contact the owners for me. I never heard back from Arcadia Meats nor Arizona Grass Fed Beef. TERRIBLE, don't waste your money. We bought a package with flank steak, the fajita meat, and…read moretri-tip all of which are 100% inedible-you cannot chew this meat. I don't think I will even try to serve what we have left to our dog- it's that bad. I actually wonder if they don't buy the worst grade meat somewhere and repackage it to resell. AWFUL waste of money unfortunately.
