This weekend was my first time at a Perkins. We needed something to eat before starting our day and this Perkins was across the street from our hotel. It has a large parking lot which is always a plus. We walked in and were seated right away. Our drinks were ok. I got a cherry sprite and my partner a lemonade. He wished it was sweeter. Our food was good. I got a breakfast sandwich and he the waffle combo. You pay upfront when you're ready to leave. Both of The card machine stopped working so cash was used instead as we were in a rush and could not wait to see if the issue could be resolved. This is a huge con as some people may not have cash to cover their meals. The dessert section looked good and I would be interested in trying some next time. read more

Right off the highway. Easy off, easy on. The parking lot is a very good size and was mostly full on the Friday lunch time we visited. A hostess seated up immediately in one of the last booths. Everything on the menu is available all day so if you want a burger in the morning, or pancakes at night, you're covered. There are plenty of breakfast options plus sandwiches, burgers and more. The booth we were seated in, next to a window, was clean, roomy and comfortable. There are three seating areas plus a private dining room in the back. Restrooms are behind the hostess/cashier area. There are also some cookies and other desserts for sale by the cashier. I ordered a breakfast from the back page of the menu. It included 1 egg, any style, 1 meat (bacon, sausage, turkey sausage) 1 potato (home fries or hash browns) and 1 starch (toast, muffin, pancakes). A full breakfast to be sure. My SO got himself a chicken sandwich with bacon and cheddar jack cheese on toast with a side of fries. The chicken was crispy, the sandwich is quite large and there are plenty of fries. My fried egg was cooked well, the potatoes I selected where actually hard in some spots like an over cooked potato chip. The softer bits were better. The pancakes are very nice. Light and fluffy with a whipped butter substance on the side and plenty of 'syrup' on the table. I ate them last like dessert. And speaking of dessert, their dessert menu is quite large. Lots of pies and cake by the slice. The meal was reasonably priced, our waitress was attentive and experienced. This is a very nice lunch stop. read more

Loved our lunch time selections. It's all about the food preparation and presentation and that recognition favors RUSS, the head cook! All our food arrived well plated, fresh and hot. The potato pancakes with side meat for $7.79 are the best around, even better than the Polish restaurant up the street. Turkey plate, country fried steak plate were so good. After a morning spent snowtubing at nearby Shawnee Mountain Aki area, myself and five of my girlfriends searched and found a restaurant with indoor dining that could accommodate our party of six. We were given a time of 10-15 minutes for a table but told it could less than that and it was. Our wait was less than 10 minutes. A few minutes after sitting down at our table our waitress came over and took our drink order. I'm not sure if she introduced herself by name since I wasn't paying attention but she was nice. Our table ordered a variety of items but I had the Belgian waffle with egg whites and turkey sausage. My plate included just one turkey sausage part which was fine since the waffle was quite filling. The waffle was a little bland in that I didn't taste any vanilla flavoring or cinnamon but the butter and syrup helped. Our waitress came past our table to ask if we needed anything else and once it appeared that we were just about done with our meals, she asked one more time if we needed anything before presenting our bill. I went there for coffee and pie, because they are recommended highly for their desserts made homemade each and every day. And at first the pie I wanted was no longer available they had sold out which is OK that's good. You only make enough to last that day, but then the second Pie order, which was the I believe fruits is the forest pie Partway through. I found a piece of twig in it, that I thought was amazing since it didn't fit the cranberry blueberry raspberry theme of the pie. They did give us that one for free and took it back but my husband really enjoyed the carrot cake with fresh cream cheese, frosting, etc. and the coffee was amazing. It was a highlight of our trip to go and be able to try the restaurant just sorry I didn't turn out to be as well as I thought it would but everyone in the restaurant was kind and friendlyand just over went out of the way to make you feel welcome read more

Whenever I am in the Poconos, I like to have breakfast here. I like their pancakes because they are a good size and absorb butter which I like on my pancakes. If you shake your butt in the parking lot, it's Twerkins. And that would probably taste a lot better than food from this place. I don't like Perkins and I never have. I probably never will. I think it's mainly for older people who don't have very good taste in food. Granted it's a little bit better than Denny's and IHOP - but that really isn't saying anything because licking a toilet bowl is better than Denny's and IHOP. There's not that much street food in Stroudsburg so I appreciate them being here as do some of the people of Stroudsburg, I'm sure. Stop in after attending funeral in PA heading home to NY stopped by Perkins for dinner. One waitress AnnMarie worked the floor alone and during service I had a hunch she worked all day and evening shifts. That is tough work for any one person and when I asked if the manager would help her if it got busy she said "guess who is cooking your food"? Amazing that two women held down a family style restaurant with no help all day. Sine we were last customers out manager confided help is hard to come by. People don't show for interviews, quit after a few days. Food was mediocre Salmon bit dry, Country Fried Steak was a bit crispy and sirloin steak and jumbo shrimp was best of bunch.We rewarded the staff with a significant tip to end their night on a high note. Oh their baked goods were outstanding. Brownie, cinnamon muffin were stellar. Under normal operating conditions I'm sure it would have been better experience. Food was typical of Perkins. Consistent and exactly what I expected. I ordered the butterball turkey dinner and the hubs had the potato pancakes. Our food came fast. It was hot and "fresh". It was more food then I could eat, his potato pancakes came with weird sides. A tiny cup of applesauce. Coffee was hot. Creamer was already on the table. The brought a carousel of syrups for his pancakes. Our waitress Annemarie was a gem. We would come Back for her alone. The manager on duty is what made this a 4 star visit. She wouldn't shut up. Perkins is known for its horrible service, especially after hours. I guess the wait staff assumes that everyone who goes during these hours are either drunk or high (which is actually true for the most part). I have never been in and out of here in under an hour. Wow; what a degrading experience yesterday for lunch. My husband ordered coffee, comes served in a large silver carafe which holds aprox 4 cups. Husband enjoys his coffee very sweet with milk meanwhile I asked the Hostess if I could please have a "styrofoam to go cup" so I can pour some of my husband's coffee in my cup. (I like it black) I only poured 1/4 cup from the carafe bc that is all I wanted .. Our waitress immediately arrives at our table; replies she has to charge me nearly $3 dollars for 1/4c of coffee, was totally shocked n' very upset I asked the waitress to take my cup away - I refused to pay $3.00 for a few inches of coffee Upon exiting the restaurant I brought it to the managers attention while two other waitresses stood by made faces, mocked, and said terrible words .. My husband paid the Bill - it was the most expensive lunch costing $50.00. Worst Scenario; My husband never finished the Coffee in carafe so it was eventually thrown out by the staff ... Summary- That was the most demeaning experience I ever had. I'm soon to be 73 years old and that is how they treat old people? Nevertheless I have been dinning at Perkins in Stroudsburg since the mid -seventies. The waiter thought he was cute, and while we were not amused, we didn't comment and weren't rude about it. As a matter of fact, I told my companions he was probably just trying to entertain himself while doing his job. However, let's not make the mistake of trying to joke with him, as that was met with absolute snarky rudeness. My wife and I were very disappointed in the Perkins Restaurant in Stroudsburg (store 2425, I think; the receipt is faint). My wife's meal was merely warm. My Honey Mustard Chicken Crunch salad was the worst of these that I've had -- and I've been ordering these in every state since we got back into Perkins territory. (There are none around Sacramento.) The chicken was cold, and clearly not recently cooked. There was no crispy/crunchy coating on the chicken and it had been diced into small pieces. This was nothing like the many other salads with the same name that I've had. Interestingly, the restaurant staff seems to know about the quality of there food. Our server buzzed by and asked if everything was okay and was gone almost before we looked up. And the cashier didn't even ask if everything was all right. I love Perkins! I almost always enjoy my meal, but the experiences (about 3-4) that I've had at this particular branch have been pretty crappy. I usually only like to go to the Perkins near my home, which is the one on Milford Road, because their service is always top-notch and we have rarely had bad experiences with the food. The service that I've experienced at this particular Perkins has definitely been subpar at the best. The servers are not friendly and they definitely aren't attentive, as they just kind of disappear into thin air after awhile. I'm not sure if it's because this one is right off of an exit, but some of the customers that visit here are just horrible too. The times I've been here the customers seated near me have been loud, rude, and have 5-year old kids who curse aloud (which can be funny the first couple of times but after a while it's just like ???). The food here is OK. One time they didn't get our orders right, another the food was cold. It's honestly just not what we expect after having such great experiences at the other Perkins. We once waited over 10 minutes just to pay our bill, even after trying to wave someone down. We've had to get up and find a server to ask for more water, since our waiter just dissipated. The best things about this place is that there is usually parking and the bathrooms are usually clean. Other than that, just take the drive to the other Perkins on Milford.
