My son was born around Thanksgiving so when my son was newborn & offices were closed for the holiday but Dr. Aurora still insisted us coming in during his closed hours, he truly is a very passionate, caring doctor. Anytime I call they can get my son in within that same day, they are so flexible with our schedule. He is a very reassuring doctor for any questions I ever have. Even for the small stuff when my son has ever been slightly sick & I feel unsure if I should bring him in they always give no hesitation for me to bring him in anyways to be safe. To be fair, I had a positive experience with Dr. Taffet, and my son's ear tube surgery at St. Joseph's went very smoothly. However, the repeated issues I encountered with the front office staff and communication ultimately overshadowed the positives. My first experience with the office set the tone. I arrived 7 minutes late due to traffic within their parking lot while trying to manage a sick one-year-old with a 101-degree fever from recurrent ear infections and a very active two-year-old. I understand that I was late and that office policies must be followed, but the front desk employee was extremely dismissive and showed no empathy for the situation. I was turned away and told to come back later that afternoon. Another concerning experience occurred 15 days after my son's ear tube surgery. He developed what we later learned was an allergic reaction to anesthesia. When I called the after-hours line on a Saturday, I was told they only assist patients who are within 14 days of surgery. After explaining the situation, the representative eventually agreed to help but repeatedly stated that she would "get in trouble" for doing so. As a worried parent, that was not reassuring. The most frustrating experience involved my son's ongoing ear infections after tube placement. Multiple antibiotics had failed, and I left a voicemail explaining that I work night shift, sleep during the day, and I asked that my husband be contacted ASAP. No one called him that day. When I woke up and called the office, I was met with some of the rudest customer service I have experienced in healthcare. I was given no help before the office closed. My son spent the entire night awake and crying from an untreated ear infection. The next morning, we were simply told to use Ciprofloxacin ear drops that we ALREADY had at home. This information could have been communicated in under two minutes the evening before and would have saved my son a painful night. My baby developed full body hives immediately following his surgery, and we thought the cause was the Cipro ear drops, so that's why I was hesitant to give them. Turns out it was just the anesthesia, but we had no way of knowing that until we tried the Cipro drops again. I have worked in healthcare for 10 years, and what stood out most throughout these experiences was the lack of communication, empathy, and basic customer service. While I appreciated Dr. Taffet and had a positive surgical experience, the repeated issues with the office staff and follow-up care were significant enough that I would seek a different ENT provider in the future.

Have your questions ready and they'll spend the time answering them. I've never heard complaining about how quick office visits are before. Most people complain about how long the wait is. I love that I can get in and out. They're clean and super friendly. They're honest about concerns and very informative. Not just yes or no answers. They explain why. The waiting room is very big so you're not cramped with sick kids and they even have a sick and well visit side. I do wish they had stickers for after to calm the kiddos after shots. They might but I've never gotten them. Their triage phone line is also amazing. They're quick to call you back after hours so you are comfortable and know when something is serious or normal. Great for first time Mom's. They also have an online portal for messages, billing and record notes you can refer back to. I wish the portal had check up reminders so I know when the next visit our immunization should be. And the message could be quicker in response but I just call the triage instead so not a big deal for that. All in all I'd recommend it.

Wish I could give her zero stars or less! Had to come to this location after my longtime care provider in the surprise office left. She was always 10/10 amazing in every way and never treated us the way altamura did . My kiddos have been at DVP since my son was a newborn (he is going to be 9) and my daughter is turning 5. I have never encountered a provider as rude and unprofessional as Stephanie Altamura. Our appointment was scheduled for 3:30 PM, but we were left waiting in the exam room until 4:35 PM--over an hour past our time. During the wait We saw the MA for vitals and a student, but not the person we scheduled the appointment with. When Altamura finally arrived and I asked for an estimated time on the remainder of the appointment as my kids were antsy and tired of being there, she became immediately hostile. Instead of apologizing, she tried to blame the delay on the fact that her student was asking us questions and claimed my children were "acting up." It was absurd for her to blame a student interview that happened during the wait for her own tardiness. It seemed as if she used the student to buy herself more time before starting the actual visit. She was very argumentative and also tried to say that every doctors office we go to is like this and we will have to wait this amount of time. It was normal and she did nothing wrong and has been on time all day. The MA that roomed us apologized for our long extensive wait and noticed we had still not been helped. She's the first provider we have ever had this issue with since we have been patients with this facility. Keep in mind... I work in healthcare! And I am also a provider. I have never made a patient wait on me longer than 10-15 minutes and if I did, they received a long explanation and an apology. The situation escalated when the Office Manager Terri came in to mediate. While the manager was trying to apologize and explain that the office was overbooked, Altamura repeatedly interrupted us, talking over me, and sarcastically laughing the entire time I was trying to communicate with management. Most disturbingly, she then proceeded to handle my children with aggression. She grabbed them roughly to check their eyes and ears, snapping commands like "move" and "get down." My children were visibly shaken and scared by her erratic behavior. This was my final straw and I ended the appointment immediately. Terri followed me out and apologized for Altamura's unprofessional behavior and admitted she was in the wrong. As a medical provider myself, I know this behavior is unacceptable. I would never make patients wait over an hour, blame them for it, and then treat them with such hostility. I urge new patients to stay away from this provider. I will now take my kids where they are properly cared for and with providers who carry dignity and respect for their patients. Disgusting behavior .

Our first time here was pleasant enough for a well check for my two kids. The Dr was kind and…read morethorough but it wasn't anything special. My kids are very social so to reciprocate in their friendliness really means the world to them. We didn't really see a whole lot of that, even from the assistants who came in to do the vitals. I guess the Dr they saw is no longer in the practice now. So when my son was sick a week ago, I swore he had pink eye. All the signs were there. His allergies were also horrible. They put us with Dr Gosnell (Heather). Dr Gosnell checked him and said "it's a viral infection" and recommended only "honey" to help his cough. (He is 6, so old enough for medication.) Now it is Saturday and we are in Urgent Care where he has a 103 fever, double ear infection, and huge puffy eyes. The Dr told us this is due to his allergies getting really bad and we should have been prescribed a steroid, antibiotics and antihistamine at our Dr visit with her. I'm pretty upset that we could've avoided this whole thing. Now my baby is in so much pain and suffering. We will give the office another shot, but will NOT be seeing Dr H Gosnell. I realize she can't predict the future but he was already suffering when she saw him and could've nipped it in the bud then instead of not even recommending over the counter medication not "honey".

A woman who was FIVE DAYS POSTPARTUM called to schedule her newborn daughter's first appointment and instead of compassion, professionalism, or basic human decency, she was interrogated and invalidated because she's married to a woman. After explaining that she and her wife are BOTH the baby's mothers, she was repeatedly placed on hold and then told she would need "permission" from her wife to bring HER OWN CHILD to appointments or consent to medical care. They even told her adoption paperwork would eventually be required -- despite the fact that she carried and delivered this baby herself and BOTH parents are legally listed on the birth certificate. Imagine being hormonal, exhausted, physically recovering from childbirth, trying to take care of your newborn, and having a medical office basically tell you that you aren't recognized as your child's real parent. It is ignorant. It is discriminatory. It is unacceptable. No family should ever be treated this way, especially by people working in healthcare. LGBTQ+ families deserve the same respect and recognition as everyone else, and the fact that this office made a new mother cry during one of the most vulnerable moments of her life is beyond unprofessional. Do better. Train your staff. Learn the law. And stop traumatizing new parents.
