Either this place is too loud or I'm too old.
I suppose those two things are not mutually exclusive.
We spent an evening here for a work-event. It's a cool spot, rooftop hangout place. The lifts are slow, so we took the stairs...I think it was 6 floors up. Woo! Got my steps in for sure. Thank god there's smoking balcony cuz going up and down those stairs for a smoke would certainly make me quit. Wait, maybe that would be a good thing. But I digress.
Once you're up on the top floor, a host will guide you to a table. There are a couple bars and 3 restaurants to choose from with communal seating all around. It's a cool vibe. I liked it.
Until the DJ went a little wild.
It was so loud. It was CLUB loud. I was screaming at my colleagues. I thought it would be more like a dinner spot, but it was more club-like. Which is cool, but not what we expected.
When it was time to eat, I was really looking forward to some Bao (see my other reviews regarding Bao and Dumplings in general, you'll see a trend). Anywhoo, of the 3 restaurants in this joint *of course* the Bao place wasn't open. BUMMER. So I opted for a veggie burger cuz I like a veggie burger now and then.
I was disappointed.
It showed up without a bun. They had run out of buns and instead of asking if I wanted something else from the menu, they gave me extra chips (fries). Okay. I like fries, but it's not really the same as a bun. For a burger. Hmm. The veggie burger was to have been topped with slaw and guac. But instead of being on top of the patty, they were on the side, like little salads. The quac was brown (not from spices) and the slaw was sour. Meh. Not great.
The fries were great tho. And oooh! I have lots of fries. So basically I had fries for dinner. Nah, I lie, I ate the burger...strike that...I ate the veggie patty. There wasn't a burger.
Will I go back? Nah. Probably not. It's London. There are a lot of better options. I only went because it was a work thing. read more
