I am lukewarm about this place. Arrived early, while it was empty, but that quickly changed. Was given a seat and I felt rushed because they kept asking if we were ready and interrupting. Collectively, we ordered hummus, Greek salad, roasted potatoes, sautéed spinach, and a few lentil soups, cheesecake for dessert and sangrias. The lentil soup was good but there weren't any beans in sight and seemingly had noodles in it. The spinach was okay, but the roasted potatoes were great. After the service picked up, in terms of parents, it became much more difficult to get any service. Finally, we ordered Chesapeake, which was okay, also. The problem was the bill. I paid the bill and selected no tip because I was providing it in cash. I'm positive I selected no tip. However, as I went back to lock my exit card beside they do it accept Apple Pay, I notice the charge, along with gratuity was charged. I ask the employee to return and she said she would look into it with her boss, seemingly. She told me I did in fact select a tip, although I know I didn't. I just took back the cash, but I'd say beware here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I thought the place was nice aesthetically, but the food was just okay, along with the service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm not sure I would return here.

I enjoyed my time for the most part at this establishment. The waitress was attentive, which was nice. I ordered the short ribs, and they were pretty dry and lacking seasoning. My other issue was that the hookah kept on having issues. Overall, it was a good experience, but fixing these things would change my rating to a 5 star.

Restaurant menu with "Grilled Wild Salmon"

They are purposefully misleading customers by claiming a "Wild Salmon" dish that is actually farmed salmon. I called to verify after suspecting and they indeed confirmed that the salmon is farmed, not wild. Unbelievable, especially since I've ordered this dish so many times. Why would you put plain as day "Grilled Wild Salmon" dish when it's farmed? On restaurant menus, on Doordash, in even the food critic reviews. Y'all served food critics farmed salmon and told them it was wild? It's not okay. This is also a dangerous practice for those customers with strict dietary and health restrictions.

I will be back!!! Exceptional customer service. I always say customer service makes or breaks in establishment and the customer service alone had me feeling so comfortable in there. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the falafel sliders which were made to perfection. I also had a gimlet cocktail, which was perfect. And the hookah was just as great. I will definitely be making this my go to spot when I come into the city.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful restaurant, great happy hour.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I enjoyed my cocktail and appz. Falafel siders and their cauliflower were really good. My main the lobster pasta wasn't great, skip it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall a chic spot to get together afterwork.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice place (on a fancier side), good vibe and attentive service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was just ok therefore overpriced. We had a sit down dinner with a group of friends for a celebration. Asked for a bday cake which was brought out immediately which was too soon, it was also overpriced. If I came back it'd probably be for a drink at the bar. They also have hookah.

THE BEST Restaurant/hookah lounge in the city. I've been coming here for years and the service is always amazing !! Drinks , food & hookah is good . After a certain time they offer a late night menu . Most hookah places in nyc are rachet and don't offer food late. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have an upstairs area too if you want to be lowkey.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Contract for dining reservation

tried to book a dinner reservation, however the restaurant required a contract to be signed that relinquishes all right as a patron in the event, the reservation itself went sour; despite the restaurant not providing any special services. Restaurant manager stated they were unable to make adjustments to of the contract.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Chill restaurant in midtown with tasty beverages and smooth tunes playing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Music upstairs isn't as loud as downstairs is more of a club setting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Shaq was there with his crew taking pics with fans. Really nice guy with a good heart. Servers come by often to ensure you have everything needed to enjoy the evening. Food was good more for apps but solid nonetheless. Will come back next time I'm in the city.

Loved it. The food was great. Love the ambiance and music. It's kind of dark but it's sexy and cool lol I'd visit again and try other items. The service wasn't five star but it was fine. I don't really have any complaints. The bathrooms are clean (they have an attendant on duty)

One of my favorite places to be! Great hookah, good vibes and amazing food!!!! I've been here on a Monday at 5pm and several late nights on the weekend, service has always been incredible and it's always a great time. Staff has always been attentive to us and making sure we were good

Is a reservation required or can we walk in?

It's best to make a reservation but u can walk in

Is it true there is. $70 minimum per person? That's what we were told by staff.

It depends on the time and amount of people. Usually if it's over 5 people there is a minimum but it goes towards what you order anyway!

Is this a place where you can get a table smoke hookah and dance on a Saturday?

Need reservations. Time limit and music is more downstairs than up. Gets very crowded around the bar.

Do they charge after a certain time?

They do not charge a cover charge if that is what you are asking?

How is the music there? Hiphop? Current music today?

All of the above and more.

    Can you byob?

    Nope. Full bar

    Do they have happy hour?

Yes but normally at the bar and the tables downstairs by the door. Sometimes if they're packed but can accommodate your party, they'll seat you and honor the Happy Hour. It…

    How much are hookahs?

The hookahs are priced either 35/45 depending on the flavor. Here is their online hookah menu with the prices: https://www.pergolanewyork.com/menus/#hookah

Can u smoke hookah if under 21?

More importantly, can you get into a bar if you're under 21?

Do they charge automatic gratuity for everyone?

Yes they do, and it's always unexpected amounts!

Do they allow e-cigs or vaping?

    Yes!

What days are good to go? Fridays or Saturdays?

I think everyday is good to go there , I m sure weekends are busier.

What kind of music do they play?

A mix of Arabic music and American hiphop and R&B

Is there a dress code for men and women? Can men wear ripped jeans and sneakers?

    Yeah

Is hookah available during the day as well? Or just at night?

Yes it is available during the day as well

Are you serving hookah Friday at 11am?

No. Hookah at Pergola is sold from open to close (4/4:30 pm - 2 am)

    Do they have bottle service?

    Yes

What's the age to get into this place and for hookah? Is it 21+?

This place is a restaurant/lounge if you come in at night they card you at the door so you need to be 21 unless you come in earlier in the day.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

Service was good. We had the fried chicken Benedict and the crab cake Benedict. I was a bit confused when I saw that each Benedict dish only had one poached egg - shouldn't it always be two? I guess that's shrinkflation (plus inflation) for you. That bent said, the crab cake was actually really big and filling. The side of potatoes were really delicious. Would I come back for brunch again? Very unlikely. But, it does seem like a pretty "safe choice" if you need a last minute reservation for a group.

I could see how this might be a little harder to get a seat for a bigger group if you aren't there before 6. It seemed that once a group got a big table, they camped out. The drinks were strong and creative. Friendly bartenders, good music, and yummy options for bar snacks. Also, the bathroom is a nice touch. Given the hell theming for the bar, the bathroom is a 180 and while using the Lou, you can listen to the bible being recited. Theres also a spooky surprise if you press the button in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it is at the bottom of some decently narrow stairs. So, try and stay sober enough for stairs or you may fall. Go to this bar. You will have fun.
