Well, I'm not used to door to door salesmen, so I'm naive to their gimmicks. Here's what I've gathered. First, the salespeople I spoke with were all very nice. Essentially, they said they were coming to the neighborhood to offer a special deal for just a couple of houses, to update their windows as "model homes" where they give you a bangin' deal in exchange for some advertising (have a sign in the yard for 60 days, write a positive review, allow before/after photos, and share the amount of energy savings after a year of having the new windows). They would cover labor costs, installation, and discount the windows themselves 30%. The first guy took down my number because I said I wanted my husband home before they started taking measurements to give me a quote, and he called later saying the two slots had been filled. The next day or a couple of days later, another guy came to the door saying behold! We opened another spot! So we made an evening appt for another sales person to come and do the measurements. She came, explained their windows, the deal, the lifetime warranty, etc and I have to say, she was very kind and accommodating when it came to our 1.5 year old son and newborn who were vying for attention. But she opened with "I'll need a hard yes or a hard no by the end of this conversation, and my husband hates pressure tactics, so he was already skeptical. Long story short, their "super discounted price" was $45,000. Full price was nearly $92k. I don't think windows should be ~20% the value of our house, sorry. Anyway - we ended up giving a hard no, and I read online that this company gives the same spiel to everyone. There is no model home. I'm guessing their five star reviews are part of the "discounted" exchange. I'm glad my husband is not as easily duped as I! When the time comes for new windows, we will look elsewhere. read more

Frustrating experience with incomplete repairs, poor communication, licensing issues, and undisclosed installation methods. I hired Performance Windows for a full window replacement at my home in Reno. They offered free labor because the home was supposed to be used as a display/advertising house. We financed the project through a third-party lender. From the beginning, there were problems: * The itemized invoice lacked a clear breakdown of materials versus labor. * When I requested the contractor's license, they gave me a Nevada license number belonging to a different company (Sky View Windows and Doors) that was suspended at the time for a DIR violation. They also provided an expired Utah license for the lead installer. After repeated requests and verification through the Nevada State Contractors Board, the Sky View license was eventually reinstated, but the lack of transparency was concerning. * Performance Windows operates mainly as a sales company and uses Sky View as the installation crew. This was not clearly explained upfront. * They did not disclose that they would overlay the new windows onto the old existing surrounding wood frames. When the old windows were removed, this loosened those wooden frames from the wall and created gaps. Those gaps later caused leaks. After installation, multiple repairs were needed: * A sliding door screen needed replacement (this was eventually completed). * A dining room window started leaking after heavy rain. The crew sealed the original wood panel that had been ripped out during the initial install. The sealant had to dry before testing, so I still don't know if the leak is truly fixed. * Bathroom and laundry room windows were supposed to get proper frame replacements. Instead, the installer only cut plastic pieces, which exposed holes. The smaller bathroom windows still do not open fully -- they claim this is "part of their design." * There was also a gap in the flooring caused by the smaller slider door installation. Beyond the repairs, the overall performance of the new windows has been disappointing: * Even though the windows may look better, our house is noticeably hotter than it was with the old windows. * We are now getting bugs coming into the house. Communication and scheduling were consistently poor: * Appointments were missed or delayed. * On one visit, the installer arrived late, a different crew showed up first with no knowledge of the other repairs, and the main installer forgot several items and had to leave mid-visit to buy supplies at Home Depot. * The crew often seemed rushed to finish and leave. While the sliding door screen was eventually replaced, the overall handling of the project has been disappointing. Multiple issues remain unresolved or only partially addressed. The combination of incomplete work, undisclosed installation methods, performance problems, and lack of professionalism made this a stressful experience. I would not recommend Performance Windows. If you're considering them, verify their contractor licensing status independently through the Nevada State Contractors Board, ask detailed questions about their installation method (especially whether they overlay onto existing frames), and get everything in writing before signing. read more

I wish I could give them a zero. please don't use them. worst experience we've ever had and now we need to pursue legal action. windows started leaking after 6 months and weve had several licensed professionals including the city inspector tell us they were supposed to pull a permit and they did not. the windows were installed improperly in the cheapest way possible. they refuse to take accountability and now we're left with no ceiling, walls or a window in our living room and are not responding to us to let us know when they're going to correct this. nothing else we can do but take them to court. read more

Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional I have one large, clearly visible "NO SOLICITING" signs at the front of my house (one in the front yard and one small, right on my front door). Most people respect this, but a representative from this window company ( PERFORMANCE WINDOWS) totally ignored them and rang my doorbell anyway. I was feeling sick and resting, and only answered because I thought it was an emergency. When I asked him to stop and pointed out the signs, he admitted he saw them but kept pushing his sales pitch about a "30% off promotion." When I declined again, he aggressively questioned why I wasn't interested, making me feel incredibly uncomfortable and cornered in my own home. This company clearly does not train its staff to respect boundaries or homeowners' privacy. read more

We had a great experience with Dustin and his whole crew. From the sales guy, the guy who came and did the critical measurements, to the installation scheduling and actual work crew- we were wholly impressed with the whole process. The windows are way quieter than our former windows which was our largest concern originally. We've noticed less cool air too! Would hire these guys again if we needed more windows! read more

Sales associate pounded on my door, not knocked, pounded. And when I pointed out the "No Soliciting" sign, this guy literally laughed at me and continued his sales pitch. Either train your sales people to respect potential customers and ignore houses that have it clearly displayed they're not interested, or fire the entire department. I just had somebody called Reagan come to my door offering to use my home for marketing, but when I explained I didn't want to be bothered since my dad is very unwell overseas and I am preparing to go home to see him, he laughed and said I have no clue what this has got to do with getting new windows. This is insensitive and unprofessional. Rest assured, I will tell anyone who is willing to listen to never spend a single cent with this company. This behavior is disgusting. While I am open to changing my front windows when I am in a better mindset, I would literally choose anyone other than this company. I hope nobody buys from this company. To talk to someone like this when my loved ones are so far away shows he has no morals. If this company cares at all about decency, this individual should be instantly dismissed. read more

Their salesman (Ryan, 509-954-2908) came to our house and spent ten minutes walking back and forth in front of our window to rile up our dog so my wife would answer the door. Not sure why we would want to replace our windows that were installed in 2016 or why he would go out of his way to waste his own time when he can clearly see our windows. Came into our house as part of a "promotion" for half price window install. Price we were given was likely not half but just the gimmick they use. Windows are prefabricated so if you have an old home like ours adding a frame to the already in place window frame just seems silly. read more

Performance replaced 12 windows at my home. My order came in sooner than expected, that was good. Their crew showed up on time and got immediately to work! They were extremely thorough and quick. The workers were polite and careful. Even had a singer! Which I enjoyed! They were a fantastic team. I wondered if they were going to take a break. Excellent work and clean up. The windows are great! On the day someone was to come measure, my dog had died so I called and cancelled that appointment. A wonderful soul named Mar, showed up a couple hours later with flowers and a sympathy card. I was overwhelmed with his thoughtfulness and kindness! I will always remember this man! Performance, I hope you know what a fantastic person you have representing your company!!! We are THRILLED with our new windows! The whole process was Clear, direct, knowledgeable, great learning experience for us as well. We've been shopping for a few years now, being left with a pit in our stomach! Not this team! The windows are TOP Quality. The installation team are skilled, precise, work as a team, polite, defining what was going on every step of the way, CLEAN, and cleaned up all along the way. We had 11 windows installed, team came when they said they would be here, and were gone by 1:00PM. Can't say enough good about this team! Never had windows with so many "options" much less a life-time warranty on each piece! We feel safer with these windows as well. We took down all those 'gadgets' to stop intruders. And the 'limited visibility' from the outside is great! We are going to replace our 'sun-bleached blinds' now because with the new window protection, the binds won't get sun-bleached anymore! If we are to move, I'll definitely have these windows installed in my new place! Oh, and they are beautiful! When you start a project like this, we prepare ourselves for 'hicc-ups', delays, etc.. and we kept waiting for that but never did! The install was forecasted for end of May - first of April and they are IN! We replaced two doors last year with a different company with one delay after another, and 6 months later still had leaking issues. This experience with Performance Windows was flawless! Do not use this company! We had a door to door salesman come by and try and sell us on these windows. We told the salesman that we have had to have work done on our current windows and that the past window guy had issues while doing them. The salesman assured us that their men specialize In older homes and work on those problems everyday. We asked so many questions but the salesman assured us everything would be good. They had two older people come out to measure our windows to size the windows and they measured a bunch of times every single window. Then they day came for install. The men showed up and just started ripping windows out. Well once every single window was ripped out they realized they didn't know how to handle our house. (They were supposed to specialize in this and we had mentioned it multiple times before they even came.) Now they had to call the main boss guy to come and take a look. The contractor guy was asking my husband how he thinks he should do it. (My husband doesn't do windows.) They told my husband he would need to run to Home Depot and buy some wood to put up. So my husband did. They tore out the fiber board and replaced it with the wood my husband had bought. It had gaps and wasn't even covering it properly. (I'm not sure why a contractor was asking my husband's opinion on how to do it.) We told them multiple times not to damage our siding when removing it too. They completely destroyed the siding while taking it off. They also took off siding they didn't need to remove. So they were asking if they could come back in a few days to finish. Mind you every single one of our windows were ripped out and it was freezing outside. We had three little kids in the house one being a 1 year old so we couldn't just leave it for a few days while they figured things out. They started to install the windows and completely damaged the walls while installing them. Then when we complained about the damage they came back and puttied the wall and you can still see the damage and it wasn't properly fixed. The windows also had yellow stains on them from chemicals they used. They left nails all over my house and I had a toddler that was continuously getting into them after they left. It took me two days to pick up all the nails so that I knew my toddler was okay to play. They left dust absolutely everywhere and splatter from what they used for "repairs". (Even after a week of cleaning my socks were still brown from dust and it took major scrubbing to remove the splatter.) The calk they used around the windows was already bubbling and peeling the next day. We had asked for a general contractor over and they sent some guy named Matt and when we asked if he was a general contractor he just stated he was over the guys working on our house and wouldn't specify if he was a general contractor. The siding was completely ruined and we complained because there was a storm coming and we didn't want damage. So they threw some vycor up to protect the house. The vycor was coming off the next day in the storm so they had to come back out and add more. (It was rainy season) When we asked them what they were going to do about the siding they just told us they weren't going to do anything about it and that we would have to take care of it. So now we had no siding and damaged walls. They told us the windows would help with our heating and cooling but since we have had the windows installed it has actually cost us more and we're running it more often. We were left high and dry with all the damages. They took their money and walked away. It's been a year and we're a low income family and cannot afford the fixes for the damage they caused. We have since had other places come out and look and was told we over paid and that they couldn't believe a company would do this to us. We cannot afford siding or repairs. We've lived with our house like this for over a year. Do not use this company!! This is your fair warning. read more
