Overall a pleasant car buying experience with some grievances about car keys and floor mats. My grandparents have purchased their last three 4Runners from Toyota Bountiful and have been happy with the dealership. The grandparents got me in contact with Craig Vierig the dealer who sold them their 4Runner a couple of months ago. Craig was fantastic! I emailed Craig with a list of features I was looking for and the price range I was dealing with. Although Craig focuses on selling new models, he went out of his way to find me the used car I was looking for. I was able to purchase a 2008 Highlander that was in very good condition for the age of the vehicle and the miles driven on it. Negotiations on price were courteous, and more importantly, FAIR. I walked out of the dealership with a great deal on a quality used SUV just in time for winter. The car stayed at the dealership for a couple of days while they finished some very minor cosmetic repairs and had the vehicle professionally detailed inside and out before pick-up. My only complaints came when I went to pick up the vehicle. After test driving the Highlander with floor mats inside, the vehicle suddenly had NO floor mats and that was something I was going to have to pay for out of pocket. Somewhat annoying, but hey it's just floor mats. Then, when picking up the car I noticed there was only one set of keys for the vehicle. I asked if there was a second set of keys and they dealership claimed that the person who traded in the vehicle only dropped off one set of keys. This seems contradictory since the dealer had a laminated card on the one pair of keys that said "set one of two." I believe the dealership misplaced the second set of keys and is now passing on the cost of creating another set of keys to me. It will likely cost me somewhere between $250-$300 to have another set of keys with a key fob that's tuned to the correct frequency for my car. You would think that the dealership would offer to do this for free or at least at a discounted rate since I just purchased a vehicle from them, but no such luck. If you end up purchasing a vehicle from this dealership make sure that you get details like keys and floor mats guaranteed before signing any paperwork. read more

I had a great experience purchasing my vehicle from Toyota of Bountiful. The service experience was excellent as well. The one star is because my information was sold to vendors who sell extended warranties. I haven't owned my Toyota for a few years now. Since then I've received hundreds of calls, sometimes multiple times per day asking if I'm interested in purchasing an extended policy on my former car. I've requested that my name be removed from the call list many times, but to no avail. Just today I was called again. This was the third call this week, and it's only Wednesday. As much as I loved my Toyota, I'd probably never by one again because of the constant hounding about extended warranties. Close to impossible to get a response from these people. Brought my car in at 10:30 yesterday morning for a 30 minute job as the guy said. It was 5:30PM that night, and still no answer and no updates. This is a joke. Plus this is a problem they caused after I scheduled an alignment.... now I am $800 deep in a problem that wasn't a problem until I brought it into them. I contacted Chris Fitt per the owner's reply to my original post. Chris said since I already purchased a key (not from Bountiful Toyota) there wasn't much they could do. So I suggested they could throw in some free oil changes or whatever they thought was appropriate to make things right. I received two free oil changes in the mail a few days later. I moved them up one star because at least they tried, but I'm still not satisfied with my overall buying experience with this dealership. Too many details to share on my miserable experience buying a new car here, so I'll give you the summary. Their sales people have a "win-a-commission-at-all-cost" attitude. Classic bait-and-switch sales tactics. When I pointed out the salesman's dishonesty, he kept making up more excuses, never admitting that he had mislead me from the start. Unfortunately for me, and fortunate for Bountiful Toyota, I was stuck without a car and needed to get back home in another state. I went there 2 hours ago to trade in a 2018 VW Passat and they wanted 13k for it which was fine but what happened to the up to 4k advertisement they would offer on top of my trade? They did not offer it when we were there or even try to honor it even after I showed them the conversation I had through messaging from their own employees on Facebook. The sales guy Buyback Billie flat out said unless I pay 550 a month for a 17k car then we wouldn't have a deal. They didn't try to work with us. The guy just walked away. BAD BUSINESS!!!! Go elsewhere. Where to start.. Gf and her mom already had financing, they gave false reasons as to why they needed to run their own credit check. Showed them vehicle value based on an off road Premium 4Runner when in fact the one they were selling them was a regular off road. Making them think they were getting a great deal. Not the case. Easily 5 other vehicles on the market with less miles, certified warranties, better packages for well under this "deal". Went in to reason with them after I was shown this "deal" and got the ol' "Well they already signed the contract so..." Charged them around 2 grand for blacked badge replacements. 2 ft vinyl wrap of bumper piece and black exhaust tip. (Badges and exhaust tip retail price under 400$, 1600$ for a piece of vinyl?) They did agree to scratching the original accessories package for some alternative upgrades. They put the complete wrong tires on. Threw the original wheels and tires in the back, tires not remounted to wheels after they removed the sensors, no bags, damaged the trim in the back of the vehicle. Thanks guys!! Lol The salesman verbally said scratches and minimal damage would be fixed.. they did some. The one area they did fix, the "Rocky Mountain pinstripes" in the drivers side, they drivers door is now not sitting flush with the front quarter panel. We have pictures of the vehicle before it was dropped back off for the the new wheels and tires and this was not the case before. We have now been waiting 2 weeks for the right tires. Exact opposite of earning someone's business. This is why people don't like car salesman. Do better. Care more about something other than your wallets. Since you guys don't seem to want to work with us on the deal I'll be making it a point to get the word out about your bad business. read more

I have to say upfront that I will never refer a friend or enemy to buy a car from this dealership. The buying process was great and Anthony the salesman was great. Shortly after that things went south. 1 weeks after purchasing my new Tacoma I was looking at it and noticed a wrench stuck under the bed of the truck. No problem, Greek wrench for me I suppose. Let the dealership know that it wasn't okay because it could've flown off going down the road. 2 weeks after owning the truck it's where it got interesting. At 3:00am I was abruptly woken up by the Syracuse police department!! Turns out bountiful Toyota had made a mistake and never took the registration off my 2017 trade in and the truck was STOLEN off their lot!!!! Well the cops came to my door at 3:00 to confirm I didn't lend the truck to someone and they also confirmed with my father and a friend that I no longer owned the truck. All this at 3:00am on Friday 8/16/19. So if you want to be woken up at 3:00 am because they screwed up paper work and got your old trade in stolen, buy a car from here! Ps. Went in for a recall on my truck and asked for the tire pressure sensors to be looked at I was told a price by the serviceman and was ok with it, also it was suggested that I get an alignment with a price, I left the truck there and was contacted about the price it was twice as much as when I dropped off the truck the alignment was right the tire sensors doubled, so I declined the tire guagees and the serviceman was not happy became very short with me charged me 70.00 for the diagnosis which has never been done in the past He shouldn't be allowed to give out price quotes if he doesn't know what he is talking about not even close read more

Buyer Beware if you buy a vehicle from these guys you probably will have to deal with the service Department at some time I took my truck in for a recall and asked for the tire sensors to get looked at, I was told a price along with a price for an alignment ,then I get a text The tire price doubled I asked why and was told about labor charges programing charges so the upfront guys don't know what they are talking about when it comes pricing, they were off by not a little but over 200.00 dollars so I told them no and he became very short with me charged me 70.00 for an inspection that is a free multi point inspection, when I showed up for the truck and could finally get someones attention he took my card handed it back never said a word other than pointing to the door Your Truck Is Out There not a have a good day thanks for coming in nothing . These guys are very pushy, and I feel like they're very dishonest with their pricing. Me and my fiancé went in last week because we're needing to purchase a vehicle. We already did our research and knew the vehicle we wanted to purchase, we test drove it and everything was great. Once we started talking numbers, that's when everything started to go downhill. Right off the bat we were given a paper with what monthly prices would be depending on our down payment. Those prices were insane, and we were planning on leasing the vehicle because we needed the cheaper monthly payments. We tried negotiating the price, and each time our agent had to go talk to his manager to see if that price would work. That happened about 4 times of just going back and forth, our agent was basically the middle man. Another thing that really bothered us was our agent kept saying "what will make you walk out with this vehicle tonight?" And "what's stopping you from driving off with this vehicle tonight?" We were up front and said we need to sleep on it, we know we're purchasing this vehicle, but we need to go home and sleep on it first. That's when the manager came over, he's the reason we didn't purchase the vehicle from this location. He was rude, pushy, and tried to put us on a guilt trip because they hadn't sold enough vehicles for the day, and the price we were given would probably go up the next day because it's their busiest day. That right there tells me they're dishonest because prices shouldn't fluctuate based on how many sales you've made for the night. Sorry you didn't sell very many cars tonight? Like, is that suppose to make me feel bad? We ended up going to Toyota in riverdale the very next day, just to see what kind of price they would give us for the same vehicle. We didn't tell them our budget and told them no down payment and they brought us out a price that was cheaper than what we could talk bountiful down to. Riverdale was upfront and honest right off the bat. We told them we wanted to think it over as well and they were totally cool with that, didn't push us at all, just gave us a card and said call when you're ready. We went and had lunch and thought it over. We decided to go with Riverdale, we felt they were honest with their pricing, and didn't try to scam us out of our money. We went back that day and got our dream car, they didn't have our exact color we wanted, but they found one in slc that had everything we wanted, they drove it up to us that day with no additional charge! (Bountiful was going to charge us an arm and a leg to do this) The only reason I didn't give this review a 1 star is because of our agent at bountiful, Chris, he said he's only been working a couple months, and was still learning, but we were pleased with him. We would've liked to buy the vehicle from him because he did take a lot of time out of his day to help us get the vehicle we wanted. We would have purchased it as well if his manager wouldn't have butted in. Andrew took excellent care of me and had a shuttle drop me off while the car was being worked on. They even washed the car before I picked it up. This is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. I have bought multiple vehicles from performance Ford I went into performance Toyota was pre-qualified, ready to write a check, and after choosing the lift for the vehicle, wheels and tires and a video system spending hours down there. I went to give them a deposit, and they would not except the deposit. I was doing an In and out to save sales tax and the person buying my trade couldn't make it until that afternoon so the sales manager shook my hand and said he would hold the vehicle. The time we agreed upon which was 3:30 for me to come in and pick up the vehicle was approaching, so I called him at 3 o'clock, and he informed me that somebody was in the office already buying the vehicle. Before I left the dealership, I even offered to pay for the vehicle to make sure it would still be available. They didn't bother to call me wouldn't take a deposit and agreed-upon price and then sold the vehicle out from underneath me. This is a terrible dealership avoid them at any cost. read more

This dealership is the bane of my existence. After purchasing my car from them nearly a year ago, I have experienced hell. I don't understand how they are still in business. They have dropped the ball more times than I can count at this point. Most recently, they scratched my car door during regular service and after approaching them, they have ghosted me. During my car buying experience, they provided me several wrong time frames of when my car would arrive, they told me my car was ready, I showed up to pick it up and the car had the wrong VIN. They sent a short payoff for my previous car. I could go on and on about the misery this dealership has caused and would not recommend it to anyone. I don't know where to begin. Don't deal with these guys. They're cut throat And nasty. They'll harass you, even if you politely ask them to stop. Google just about any used car salesmen/dealer scheme and that's what they'll do. Tell you you're for sure approved, send you on your way. Only to get a call later saying "our approval is expiring." And "call the lender fir a new account interview." To which I call the "lender" and can't even yet through to them. My mistake was signing the documents and leaving. But my daughter had cheer try outs abd I had to be there. So like they requested, I took all the documents down the next day they requested, including the title to my trade in. Well, as of today my temp tags have expired, no clue where plates are. No one at the dealership can tell me. And I have no clue what the status is. I've been accused of being a fraud, and harassed to the point I blocked the sales managers number (Ivan). I've told the same thing to Craig Corey Brandon and Ivan. Yet still no clue what's going on. Update to my previous review. It's now been 2 months since I purchased a used 2015 Tacoma from Toyota Bountiful. In that time I've discovered additional body and paint work that wasn't disclosed at the time of purchase. There's no way to determine if the previous owner had the the body work done, or Toyota Bountiful did. But the paint work looks very fresh! Toyota Bountiful gave me a "clean" carfax report implying the vehicle had never been damaged, but I've learned since then that not all body shops report repair work to carfax. My advice to anyone purchasing a used vehicle anywhere is to not rely on the carfax report alone. Have the vehicle put on a lift and inspect it carefully. It's on me for not doing that! read more

Nicole and Arturo were THE nicest and sweetest. My fiancé came in looking for a car just to test drive, but with their knowledge and help we walked out that night with a new car. Arturo was so patient with all of our questions, and Nicole was so nice and sweet during the paperwork process. They stayed way past the closing time (10:30pm) and never made us feel rushed or bad about keeping them late. Not because they were trying to sell to us, but because they were kind and personable. They never made us feel bad or pressured in any way to sign papers or make us feel as if we didn't know what we were talking about. We've been to many other dealerships where the sales team would pressure us, almost trying to force us to buy from them. Others have belittled us, pressured us, or tried forcing us to upgrade. However Nicole and Arturo were relatable and extremely friendly. My fiancé would never have walked in to the first dealership and walked out with a brand new car. This was the first place we looked and it was our last. This should be everyone's first and last stop. I would highly recommend this place to everyone especially because of Nicole and Arturo. I love to come for my service at Toyota Bountiful. I'm not kidding!! I love their complimentary hot fresh popcorn and snacks, hot and cold drinks, and bottles of water. There is a play room for kids, two separate TV's with couches and comfy chairs and ..... wait for it.... a gym!! You can go upstairs to the gym and work out while you wait for your car. There is even a shower for after you work out. Upstairs there is also a quiet room with no TV's and no noise. There is something for everyone. I purchase me 2nd vehicle from them a couple of months ago, but I sort of blame myself as I did not use the service from Costco, or really researched the vehicle. I wanted to check out a Rav4 and I did, but my salesperson did not enlighten me on the other models but in the end I did do the purchase. I was low balled on my trade in dramatically, and should of received a lower price on the vehicle I purchased. I trusted my salesperson thinking I would not be screwed over, but that was not the case. I purchased an extended warranty that I expected it was through Toyota, but I found out a couple of weeks later it was a third party. WTF they said Toyota warranty was more expensive and as long as I service the vehicle there the 100 deductible would be waved. Not a chance as I went to another dealership who offered me a lower price for a 7 year 75000 warranty through Toyota. I went back up to the finance manager and he canceled the warranty and did the same at a 100 dollar less. I informed the sales person we would not return to there dealership again. I have actually logged myself in with the sales manager at the other dealership for a 2022 Tundra and will be trading my 2019 Tundra as I have a lot of equity. I will probably trade in the Rav4 as well. You can dress up and look pretty, but in the end your true appearance comes out and it is not pretty! read more

Very dishonest company tell me I need brakes the first time which is correct then the next time I bring my vehicle and they tell me I don't need brakes then they say I need new air filters when I just replace the air filters they try to upsell and scam you do not go to this dealership go to somebody who's more honest this company will scam you Also who in the heck takes somebody's tire rotations Sticker out of the window from big O tires when I pacifically told them I didn't want my tires rotated and to leave it alone and the sticker clearly says tire rotation on it and I have a separate sticker for oil change is the only reason I went To them is because I was using my last free oil change Or I would've done it myself now I'm going to do myself you can't trust nobody these day its sad then they send you a thing thu the automated text message saying how did we do and put a bad review and then they backwash you when you put a bad review and say stop contacting then why is your automated system telling me to leave a review then then they tell you to contact relations then relations tells you not to contact them when you haven't even explain the story which is ridiculous And very unprofessional trying to hide stuff when They clearly know the customer is in the right and not even one apology at all read more

This is my first ever review ever! I highly recommend not going here for anything you need done. To make a long store short- I brought my Tacoma to them after I found a split in my transmission fluid hose, had them replace so it cost quite a bit. Then two weeks later I was driving on the freeway and got off on my exit and I felt my transmission slip, I pulled over and got out of my car and saw the fluid all over my drivers side- even in the bed of my truck!? I popped my hood and saw a split in the exact same spot as before, so I called Toyota and talked to the guy I was working with and he told me to call a tow truck and they would cover it. Had the tow guy come and pick it up and finally got it over to Toyota, told them what happened and they said they will look at it. The next day they called me saying I needed a new transmission!!! I was so confused so I took a friend who is a mechanic and asked a few questions and they said after " their diagnosis" my truck was previously in a accident and was put together wrong (it was absolutely not in a accident!!) so they told me I was going to have to pay for a new transmission- even though the facts are they installed a hose and it broke and they aren't reliable for it? I asked for them to at least reimburse me for the tow and they said "why would we cover that?" I told them I was told it was covered since it was the part they installed that failed. Needless to say they didn't pay for the tow or admit fault or anything! These people have awful communication and are absolute crooks do not go here! read more

Where to start? New vehicle needed new ball joint at 5k miles. Not necessarily the dealers fault but the start of a very frustrating relationship. Has 15k miles on the vehicle so it has been in 3 times now for services and none have gone well. They don't listen to the items requested to check out so when you pick it up find out they didn't do anything other than an oil change no matter how detailed you were. Also purchased a full extended warranty but were told that items needing attention are not covered (tire balance, windshield chip, upholstery spot cleaning) since they don't know anything about your purchase or warranty and just try to charge for everything and blame it on their computer systems not being compatible. Will NEVER return the car to this location for any service. It's just a waste of time. Can't even put the skid-plate on correctly after an oil change - crooked and half the bolts missing. they also lied at purchase about what the full extended warranty covered. They seem so disorganized, and hand you the keys when they are done and you have to search the parking lot for your vehicle. Buy from somewhere else even if you pay a little more. read more

I've had a very bed experience! I'm a first time car buyer. Worst experience ever. The jeep compass has been jerking when accelerating and the breaks scream and the heater barely works. I brought this to their attention two days after having the car. I got nothing back for about two weeks. I was told to come in so they could look at it. I got off work early went there to have the jeep looked at just to have the service lady tell me " oh yeah the mechanic felt the jerking!" Then they sent me home and said they would call me to bring it in. I bugged them everyday to get updates on when I should bring it in. They just got my jeep in Thursday for them to tell me my transmission is slipping and it's going to coast me 4500.00$ they did say they would cover half but I had to pay for it. This has been going on since October 16th. I would be giving a 0 star but I can't. I'm so hurt and mad not only cause it's my fist time buying a car from a dealership but I have kids and I traded my car in for this and it could break down at anytime. read more

I looked at a car online and it was being sold by Toyota Bountiful. This dealer is formerly Menlove Toyota which had a horrible reputation 20 years ago. Not much has changed. No less than 7 people called and texted me incessantly to confirm the appointment I made. When I get there they want me to come inside. Not the Covid protocols I was expecting. I told them I just wanted to test drive the car to see if there were any obvious mechanical issues. This dealer has not conformed to Covid protocols. I told them I just wanted to test drive. They insisted I not test drive the car alone. What kind of Covid protocol is that. What if the salesman was an asymptomatic spreader? This was a terrible experience. I am sticking to dysfunctional dealers in SLC. At least I wont have to drive to Bountiful. read more

I always go into Toyota Bountiful for all my maintenance, and even referred family members to purchase their new cars there. Saturday, it was just a regular maintenance routine, but we decided to check out the Tundra. Decided to sit down with the salesman MANOJ, I highly recommend not working with him, looked at the Tundra, and decided to work on numbers and trade in. Manoj went and worked the numbers with the gentleman that figures the number, don't remember his name, think it was Tyler, he comes back and the numbers weren't too crazy, and it shows the trade in value of the car I wanted to trade in. I asked Manoj to make sure that the numbers quoted was with the roll over of the amount I still owed on the vehicle, and he kept saying yes it is. I made sure over and over to him that we still owed on this car and wanted to make sure the numbers were corrected. He kept saying yes, it's all included. 5 hours later, after spending time waiting and waiting for them to work this deal, we finally get to financing, were going over numbers again, and come to find out, the trade in value was put as a down payment and not was was still owed on it vehicle. Now this changed the payment amount significantly. The finance guy we were working with was trying to help out with what would work. Then in the end, I said an amount that would work, he says to me, well that's not going to work, now were just wasting each others time! I said excuse me?! I wasted 5 hours of my time sitting here, when this could have been prevented 5 hours ago, if this salesman would have listened in the beginning! You want to tell me I'm wasting your time, when you had already wasted 5 hours of my time, with this go back and not listening! And that salesman, not once took initiative that he was wrong or made a mistake, or even apologize! He just sat there looking like a dumb@$$! read more

Was interested in a car at Toyota Bountiful, however, they tried hard to have me under their financing, which was not my plan. I'm not sure if the car I was interested in was sold or not, but I never heard from them back once they knew I was not going to be charged fees left and right. If you claim you are a "full disclosure" dealer, make sure you either list all the fees with the ad or don't charge any. Disappointed like many on this platform. read more

I bought a new car here in March. My salesperson worked her tail off to get me what I wanted. They worked with us to ensure we were happy and the price was perfect. The sale was done very quickly and finance went smoothly and fast as well. The salespeople showed us how to use our new car and followed up with us a couple times after the sale. Brought truck in for oil change service. Grady recommended installing new control arms. Charged me $300 over retail for the part, held onto my truck for two days, and then told me I needed spacers for another $400. Nickle and dime with zero research on repair jobs; it'll just keep adding up if you let them. Not thrilled. read more
