I fractured my ankle quite properly about a month ago, and I just have to say that the staff at Performance made my recovery as painless and efficient as possible. It was my first fracture, so I was worried my ankle would heal improperly and I'd have pain, however intermittent, forever. Albert & Steve answered all of my questions, gave me tips for long-term rehabilitation, and provided a Camwalker that was both perfect for my need & pleasantly affordable. Subsequently, I'm essentially pain free, strengthening exercises notwithstanding... LOL. This is one of the best orthotics I have ever been to , I have a collapsed right arch and they came with the best orthotic I have ever had. ( I had this problem since the 1980s). Over time they had to make adjustments and had to try different angles until it's right. Update: Despite the owners dismissive response, note that my appt was on the 22nd of August 2024 and I posted my review over a week later (not "the next day" as so boldly and falsely claimed . Specifically so I could have time to cool off after the awful experience. Initially I was not going to post a review at all however, after continuing to be upset despite after a weeks time I realized my experience was too negative to not share. My experience is not alone as after a series of calls with the office I reached out to my insurance company to try and get the authorization myself and they were so rude to the representative of my company that the insurance company informed me that they would be filing a complaint as well. Furthermore after seeing this review I received a call from the office attempting to gaslight me about my experience and tell me "we thought we were so kind" and demanding that I take down the review (which I never do, if appropriate I would've simply updated the review). Given that I refused to take down the review, my service was denied and my prescription returned. Nevertheless, you can always tell a healthcare providers true bedside manner by how they treat those who they don't agree with. We cannot recommend this business and Al ( the owner) enough! He got my husband, a very sudden and recent amputee, up and into a prosthetic leg and walking in about 4 weeks. Al is just a miracle. We felt so desperate and knew so little about the process and the first business Kaiser referred my husband to was so awful and cancelled and delayed his appointments. Extremely rude, unprofessional. Went in for sizing of a boot as am having foot surgery . It's a one man place. The manager was the person sizing. Not a place I can recommend. Generous with their time, but I needed a socket I could use. They recommended a built in liner socket, said it would be confy. I had constant abrasions from the socket. Went back many times. Received bandages and patches for the issues I finally gave up. They said they did their job, I would have to go back to VA to get a new authorization for a different socket. VA said I should of left the socket at "Performance" but I couldn't at the time it was the only thing I had that kind of worked. I went elsewhere for a traditional liner and socket setup that works. I must give another review of this company. Al is very knowledgeable, kind, patient with my husband's appointments. It took a few adjustments but very much worth it. Larry has severe pain on his left foot (tendon) and he could barely walk and we were recommended by his podiatrist to this business. I saw the top guy in Los Angeles for orthotics and they were so painful I couldn't wear them. I went to UCLA. They x-rayed my feet. They said their orthotics were just as heavy. I was completely lost as what I was going to do and my friend noticed the sign in front of the building. Performance Prosthetics and Orthotics get Five Stars because they created custom orthotics for me that stopped my severe and constant ankle pain. My new orthotics are larger than any I have had before. I did buy wider shoes with insoles that would come out to accommodate my new orthotics that have stopped constant ankle pain. These are not the typical small, narrow, and flimsy orthotics as I have had at least ten pairs of these kind in the past and they failed me. I had the pleasure of working with Al for my 93 year old Mother. He was sensitive to her age and need for a knee brace. He found the perfect osteoarthritis unloader to relieve the constant pressure . I've been a right leg amputee for almost 15 years and have been Albert's client for a few years now. Before I met him, my prosthetic leg was not the most functional and reliable. I broke my foot and had to come here to get a walking boot and a pair of crutches. Al was extremely helpful in finding a boot that worked for me, swapping out the first two boots we tried because they were too tight. He then gave me a quick lesson in how to properly use my crutches, and I was on my way. The receptionist I spoke with was extremely polite as well. I can't say enough good things about this place! I'm a congenital amputee (born without a left foot) and I've been to several prosthetic places throughout my life. My experience was bare none some of the best I've had in the medical prosthetic industry. Al at Performance Prosthetics really went above and beyond, called my doctor's office who sounded like they made a mistake on an authorization order and honestly, completely made my day. Even fabricated some velcro to help with another device I had (which apparently is impossible to find). Here's the story: My Mother had shoulder surgery. And now guess what... Now I need shoulder surgery. So in my haste of trying to recover by summer and book surgery quickly, durable medical goods aren't easy to find on-the-shelf. My doctor said I need a good brace and an ice unit to control inflammation and pain. Well guess what? No one on this planet apparently carries either. Both companies my HMO authorized had no clue what I was even talking about when I asked for a shoulder chilling unit. I had to listen to "breast pump" ads over and over... cause apparently that's the only durable medical goods that make money. Luckily, my HMO had my brace authorization at Performance Prosthetics. Then I went to see Al at PP and whoa! He immediately knew what I was talking about, saw my authorization and noticed the brace was the wrong type. Hooked me up with the right one, and fabricated some velcro straps to replace a missing part on the ice chiller my Mother luckily had left over from her surgery. You don't find service like this in L.A. Ohh and no, I don't work for some review company hired by PP. This is legit and it really did make my day :-) read more

Albert and his staff are Amazing!!!  They are professional, extremely knowledgeable and truly caring! Thanks to Albert my mother's back fracture is now healing properly. He put an end to the hideous nightmare we were going through! The second, we handed Albert the doctor's prescription. He knew exactly what the doctor was ordering and he had this one of a kind back brace in stock! This back brace prevents ALL movement of the spine. So, it can fuse back together properly and in a timely manner. We had gone to over 7 places and wasted over a week looking for this brace. It was so frustrating dealing with people who just wanted to sell us what they had in stock, which had nothing to do with healing her problem! 3 plus years of hip pain and I was sent to see Al Rapoport. He did what no one else had done which was to look at the biomechanics and measured my legs.
