Well the doctor went over the recent X-ray and come to find out I have a fractured toe so now this doctor will finish the work that kings foot was supposed to finish. I will have Toe fusion surgery is a procedure that joins the bones in a toe to permanent stiffen the joint. It's usually performed to treat chronic pain and arthritis, or to correct. The 2 male podiatrists i had at kaiser only said i could wear about 2 kinds of sneakers and the vionic brand of shoes. I decided to pay out of pocket for an alternate consultation. My insurance didnt cover the visit. It cost $80 for the visit. I also bought an $40 insole for dress shoes that is way better made than superfeet and will last much much longer than those insoles which is what the kaiser podiatrists recommended. The entire staff (Elizabeth and Lesbia too) were super friendly! They patiently and attentively attended to me and my 50 zillion questions. Dr Kashanian even researched some ballroom salsa dancing shoe recommendations that were not already on the pre-typed list she gave me. Another thing, Dr. Kashanian actually watched me walk and assessed my walk. This is something i dont remember the kaiser podiatrists doing. After getting x-rays that didn't show any obvious breaks or fractures, our doctor recommended Luskin since their specialty was handling orthopedic injuries. My wife called their urgent care facility and was able to make an appoint for the same day so we wouldn't have to deal with any uncertainty of long wait time if we just walked in. Parking for the clinic cost $5 and it's a covered parking lot that is nice and spacious. The inside of the urgent care section of the clinic is colorful and welcoming for kids. There's a spacious waiting area that has a large TV playing movies that kids would enjoy. After checking in and paying the co-pay, we were called into the examination room in less than 5 minutes. A nurse interviewed us and noted the details of our son's case and then called a nurse practitioner who did a more thorough examination of our son injured leg/foot. Additional x-rays of other areas of his leg and foot were taken and everything came back showing no signs of breaks or fractures. The sentiment of the NP was that our son bruised his heel so it was recommended that he be placed in a semi rigid cast for a couple of weeks. The whole process took about 45 minutes and the staff was very warm and friendly with us and our child so it made for a pleasant experience especially for our son who didn't cry at all during the entire process. The front desk intake was easy. I had filled out everything online prior to my arrival. The lady at the front desk was very nice. We were called in within a few minutes by our nurse, Delilah and she was so nice. Then a very nice X-ray tech came by and took us for an x-ray down the hall. Very cool young man! My daughter had her high school gear om and and they chatted about that and he put her at ease before getting her x-ray done. We then had a phenomenal visit with Dr Warnock! It wasn't the best news for my daughter but Dr. Warnock was amazing. I had forgotten some information and although I know he was very busy, Dr Warnock was kind enough to come back and explain to me again what was going on with my daughter. I wanted to make sure I had the information correct to explain to her coach. Vincent then came in and gave my daughter her brace. She is interested in working in the medical field in the future and had some questions and Vincent was very kind and answered them for her. The urgent care space was clean and really nice. I was extremely happy with our visit. We do have a follow up appointment in the building next door and I'm a bit concerned because its with a doctor that has bad reviews. Fingers crossed my experience continues to be good here at Luskin.
