I reached out to Move Wysely to set up personal training sessions as a completely blind client…read more From the beginning, I communicated clearly, shared my previous positive experiences with trainers, and explained the simple adaptations that would make training successful. At first, Emily seemed open to working together, and I spent several days making arrangements, including coordinating orientation & mobility training so I could learn the best walking route to the gym. However, after I provided additional information to help her feel more confident, she abruptly backed out, saying she didn't feel comfortable training me -- despite my reassurances and past history of success in fitness environments. I'm posting this so that others with disabilities are aware that Move Wysely may not be prepared or willing to work with clients requiring any level of adaptation. If you are blind or otherwise require a trainer who is flexible and willing to learn, you may want to consider other options. I was disappointed by how this was handled, especially after not only putting in significant time and effort myself, but also involving my O&M instructor, who researched routes and adjusted her schedule to help me prepare. I hope Move Wysely takes this experience seriously and better prepares in the future to serve all potential clients.

Emily is hands-down the best trainer I've ever worked with. She takes a holistic approach that…read moremakes every session feel personalized to my goals, lifestyle, and even my mood that day. She's quick to adapt if I'm dealing with an injury, always coaches with compassion, and brings such a positive, infectious energy to every workout. Honestly, it sometimes feels like she cares more about my health than my doctor does! If you're looking for someone who truly listens, supports, and empowers you--Emily is it.

I have been a member of various gyms for many years and Before and After is by far the best one…read more They have classes geared toward different levels so even if you've never worked out before you'll find a class to fit your fitness level. The trainers are excellent, especially Holly. She focuses on form to avoid injuries. She always gives alternate ways to do an exercise so anybody can do an exercise. If you are a veteran exerciser or just starting out I highly recommend Before and After Fitness. And if you just want you do it on your own the gym has a full complement of equipment. Also they are open 24/7. Each member has their own code to get in the gym at any time.

When I arrived at the small studio gym, I was surprised by all of the classes they offer in this space including pound, boot camp and TRX classes. Everyone there, the instructors and the members were extremely kind and inviting. What made this pound class so exciting was not only the amazing set list of rock and pop songs, but the instructor. Holly really knows how to get the class into the songs on an early Saturday morning. She's having such a good time up there, singing the songs and pounding the sticks, at one point you feel like you are at a rock concert and start to sing along, dance and pound as loud as possible with her! I look forward to taking more classes at this gym. I highly recommend if you are looking for a drop in fitness class to relieve your stress to give this place a shot!

Members are issued a fob to use to enter the facility. The front desk person almost always greets us. There are plenty of machines, and many treadmills and stationary bikes - seldom out of order. Spray containers of disinfectant and loads of white wash clothes abound for members to wipe down equipment. I feel obliged to note that I was duly unimpressed by the group fitness class I attended. On my first visit, the instructor was curt and unwelcoming, barking at me that I wouldn't like the class, in front of the class. She never met me. Knew nothing about my abilities nor interest. The classmates were kind and told me I'd get "used to her". Ah. No. No. No; wrong on so many levels. Especially when a newbie comes to class, who might be self conscious or introverted or scared to attend an exercise class. People will never forget how you made them feel. (Said Maya Angelou) It is a joy to see people of all ages and abilities using the machines. I've seen elders on the bikes and tweens on the treadmills. Wee ones stroll by from the daycare area to play in their own area apart from the adults. There are large tvs and music is also piped in. It feels like a completely non-judgmental environment, and aside from the group class encounter, it's my kind of place.
