After noticing over and over that my puppy's energy level wasn't reduced at all after a full day of daycare, I started asking questions. Came to find out that the dogs indeed get to go out and play for 10-15 min per hour. The rest of the time (45-50 min per hour) they are in a crate. Horrified, I told the girl at the desk I wasn't aware of this for the past month I had been bringing him, and her words in a very snarky tone were "Our daycare isn't a free for all"... So I let the last five days I bought in my package expire and we never went there again. PLEASE ask questions - even if it feels like a stupid question... like "will my dog have playtime all day if he needs it?" Since I only assumed that is what doggy daycare looked like. Found a way better place -also in Raynham- and my pup is tired and happy every day when I pick him up, plus I can see him playing when I walk in which I always wondered why you couldn't see any of the dogs at K9... Again, ASK QUESTIONS! And if you prefer your dog to just be in a crate all day, keep them home and save your money! read more

I can't speak highly enough of PPK9. My rescue dog and I have been going there 2 years this Fall. He started in daycare as I have to work full time and his needs required him to have supervision. We were originally training at another recommended place by my vet. We were struggling in our training with his constant frustration and fears. I utilized the Doggie Day School one week for training and I noticed a difference in his demeanor and behavior quickly. The trainers were giving me tips and tricks to practice at home. When one day a trainer said to me he loves it here and he's such a good boy. Why don't you train here with us? From that moment we switched everything into them and he earned his Canine Good Citizens Title this year. Avoid this place. The handler injured my dog while removing from cage. Claims dog caught a toe but the story later changed to pulled out of collar and slammed into cage. My dog tore her CCL and required 4000 dollar surgery to walk again. Management refuses to accept responsibility and reimburse me for the costs. Staff is either poorly trained or is mishandling the dogs. I will now need to retain a lawyer and take them to court to cover my loss. If you have reasonable expectations that your dog will be cared for.....this is not a place to bring your pet. read more

Also witnessed a customer kicking her dog in the parking lot; police were contacted. The business did nothing to stop her. I had my german shepherd in the 7 week puppy class. It's a joke. I don't recommend it, the second I asked if I could have my money back, no we don't do refunds. But when the trainer asked how things were going at home with my puppy I said good I got a private trainer who specializes in German Shepherds.. she wasn't happy with me, saying she wasn't gonna train my dog in class, I paid 200 bucks and you don't refund so ya I'm finishing this class which i did. I wanted to do puppy classes to help with socialization because I heard it's crucial as a puppy so they aren't aggressive when they're older. but my 14 week old puppy wasn't allowed play when other dogs "played too rough" well okay let's show him how to not play rough? Or correct the behavior. Instead they singled us out and just had us watch all the other puppies having fun. They also have a habit of humiliating you in front of class, they yelled at some guy cause his puppy knocked something over, like in front of everyone. You need to treat the customers well, sorry but I'm pretty sure they're paying your rent and job. Also listening to the teacher ... I don't know where she came up with half the shit but told us Dominance doesn't exist in dogs? I've read several german shepherds books, maybe not the golden retriever sleeping in class.. but a german shepherd who is a working dog? Ugh yes i think so. My dog is very dominant. The private trainer who has worked with german shepherds for 25 years told us our dog is dominant but not to worry because he's going to be the best dog ever after training, I like that he cares and builds confidence in our dog and in us. This place just wants your money, they don't care about making the customers happy or making sure they are giving excellent customer service. I would highly recommend this place in all services they offer. The owner is extremely knowledgable and you can tell she quickly develops a special bond with the dogs during training. When we got our second dog our house was in chaos. She would chase/fight with our cats and we had to separate them permanently. We never thought they would be allowed to interact again. After a few training sessions and applying what is taught in the sessions at home, there was already an improvement in her behavior around them. This time he had been rolling in skunk cabbage and smelt like death, so it was a huge relief to pick him up and see him all fluffy and smelling like a puppy again. Our puppy is now 10 months old, and she is a handful. She loves to work, but she is very easy to distract, and gets bored and antsy at the drop of a hat. The Wag It classes with Chrissy have been awesome! She is very good at handling multiple dogs of different skill level in the same class and keeping the experience positive for everyone. You can tell that she loves her work, and the dogs can tell, too! We have taken our puppy here for training since he was a baby. Erika is beyond phenomenal with younger animals and first time puppy owners. She taught us the right and wrong ways to treat and praise our puppy. We also take him to the train n plays where he is worn out. They are so good to him and always seem so happy to see him. They give you a report card the first time to tell you how your dog is interacting with other dogs and the trainers. If it wasn't for Performance Plus I am pretty sure we wouldn't have such a well behaved pup on our hands. read more

I wanted to get some training to help me become successful in the competitive dog obedience ring and I sure got what I wanted. I've been to dog training classes closer to home, but none of them gave me the fine details I needed to be really crisp in the ring. Nancy was our trainer and she really understands how to get the best out of a dog with positive reinforcement. My dog loved her and I was amazed at how well she responded. I learned how to expect more from my dog and to be more positive and even have fun while doing it. The facility at Performance Plus is top notch. It is always clean and bright. I brought my lab there to training & daycare from time he was 13 weeks old I w would also board him there I could not understand why he was never tired when I would pick him up after 8 hours of daycare. That was why I wanted him in daycare because he is a lab with tons of energy and needed to release his energy. I felt a little suspicious when I picked him up that I never could see them playing the fence out back is totally blocked and I am instructed to wait out side for them to bring him out. Every time I picked him up he was full of energy and we could not figure out why? Well a friend of ours stated that they might be crating him allot when he should be out playing so I tried another place Jillian's Pet Paradise in Raynham & let me tell you I have never been more happy . He went for a 3 hour free evaluation that K 9 performance never did and he came home exhausted. I then sent him for a full day he fell asleep on way home & laid on the couch with me at night and just cuddled so calm & tired & happy. I am so upset that I trusted them with my baby & I truly believe they crated him most of the time & proved it after sending him one day to Jillian's . My lab is so happy now & so are we he comes home so happy & I can walk in any time and see him playing with his buddies. First of all I want to say my observations and experience at this training center. Just a short note on my experience. I am a long time experienced dog trainer and breeder. I entered the just for manners class because the dog I am training needed more experience with other dogs, and a new environment. Well my first day was 2.5 hours of sitting and listening over and over non dog related things, no questions were even asked to the people in the class on what they wanted to learn ect. They wanted you to buy their leashes, collars, bait bags treats. My next class it was so loud from other dogs barking, no correction was even taught on barking, couldn't even hear the instructor and she seemed to favor a couple of people and didn't even speak to others. A nice women asked her about her dog barking and wanting to get up early everyday on its terms. The trainer said I am not sure, will have to think about it. I spoke to this women after class and tried to help her. I am very disappointed, classes are expensive, trainers don't seem to train only talk, no examples or help. I have never seen such a terrible place. I will go the remainder of my classes as I paid for them. No I do not recommend this place. They are a business of making money. People at the front desk were rude. I am so disappointed. read more

Having just completed the Basic Manners class, I found it to be a waste of time, energy and money. The training area is very large with 2 other training classes happening at the same time. We could barely hear the lead trainer/owner during the class! When brought to her attention several times her response: "there is nothing I can do about it". The entire 6 weeks' was getting accustomed to working your dog in a "bubble/choices approach". The class description indicates working on behaviors such as "stay", "come", "sit", "down". None of that was covered. There were 10 dogs/owners at the start of class, only 4 remained the last day-- 60% drop-out rate. Not Good! I've attended 2 other training programs with another more reputable and less expensive training group. Attendance was 100% from beginning to end. We learned so much more in the same span of time. I would have returned except the training schedule didn't match mine. I cannot say enough about this business. They are absolutely incredible. Their facility is immaculate. Very clean, very new, and always a smiling staff. They have training classes for all types of dogs. If your looking just for puppy training or your looking to go further this is the place to go. The staff and owner are very hands on and they care so much about the dogs that go here. They also have a train and play program which is similar to doggy day care, but they actually have trainers who spend some time with them during the day. My son and I had a very bad experience with the owner/trainer (Nancy) at Performance Plus K9 Activity Center. My son attended the initial hour long consultation with his dog and the owner informed my son she could train his dog to socialize with other dogs and people. During the consultation, the owner conducted an evaluation of the dog's behavior and asked questions regarding any issues with the dog. My son was upfront and honest toward the dog's aggression and any signs of bad habits. He asked the owner directly if she would be able to train his dog to socialize with both people and dogs. She confirmed she could train the dog and led my son to believe she could. The very first training session the owner asked my son to put his dog in the bathroom and instructed him to only open the door if his dog didn't bark. Of course, this had a reverse affect because it caused a higher level of anxiety in the dog. The trainer (Nancy) continued on with her class for the entire hour without checking on my son's dog, who she insisted would remain contained in the small bathroom. It wasn't until the 3rd class, which I attended with my son that the trainer (Nancy) checked in on the dog while confined to the bathroom. I asked the trainer what was the benefit of confining the dog while training and her response was my son's dog is a danger to others. At that point, she should have admitted to us she wasn't capable of training the dog and refunded our money since she clearly wasn't qualified and was dishonest to us from the beginning. Fortunately, we found an experienced professional training facility capable of training dogs with aggression/anxiety issues. This review is just to express our extreme disappointment with Performance Plus K9 Activity Center and I would like to make sure that other people read and take this review seriously before you decide to bring your dog there for training and spend your hard earned money. I am unhappy with the attitude of the staff and their billing policies. I originally took my already obedience trained dog for socialization - as that was her issue . After two classes they told me not to come back - she was too reactive. A special class for "reactive dogs" - so I sent in another $50 to hold my spot. Then due to personal circumstances I couldn't make that next session - so fast forward a year and I go to sign up again- am told for the classes I was essentially kicked out of - I get no credit - even though I had paid in full already-because it was too long ago, and all I get is the $50 I paid to hold my spot a year ago. I asked if they seriously wanted to lose a customer and $300 over $50 and they said those were their policies. This is after I had already heard from another former customer that they wouldn't return their deposit either. And I'm saying I paid for 8 classes- got two - and then paid another$50 and was told TOO bad. We'll - certainly will never receive my business nor my recommendation in a small town! read more

Three months ago, I would have given 5 stars. The staff was friendly, and the class we took was great. Photos of daycare activities were posted, and my pup was coming home tired and calm. Now, I do not see my dog in any photos, she is full of energy all night, and the staff is rude. I actually heard her crying when I picked her up one time. We have had our dogs boarded and groomed there and were happy with the care. Recently, we were quoted a price, that matched the boarding cost of our previous visit 5 months earlier. We discussed at length, and agreed upon, options that involved day care and boarding and grooming for our 2 dogs. Our dogs stayed and we picked them up and paid the agreed upon price without incident. 2 days later, we recieved a phone call stating that we owed an additional $300 for their stay. They explained that we had interacted with a staff member that was not aware of a price increase that had gone into effect. We spoke with management who failed to understand our displeasure at their attempt to almost double the price 2 days after we left and had already paid the price that had been quoted in writing and charged to our credit card. I am aware that prices change with time but we were given a written quote and had a signed receipt that they were unwilling to honor. We have 3 dogs, all of whom attend classes there and are also boarded there multpile times a year. We won't go back because of this underhanded practice. In seeking out $300 in misquoted prices, they let the thousands of dollars that we spend yearly, walk out the door. We will not go back to a place with such unprofessional ownership and price switching trchniques. read more
