Our amazing pet sitter (or dog nanny as our daughter calls it) took incredible care of them, provided detailed daily updates, and also (bonus) acted as a "house sitter" in a way (see service list on their website). Dogs are never left alone for more than a few hours, get walks, playtime and pets, and get to be in their comfortable and familiar space. For us, this service made way more finanial and practical sense than putting 2 pets in a boarding facility (no need to struggle with drop off and pick up times and all the paperwork of a kennel plus no risk of injury or disease exposure). Communication was stellar from start to finish. Will be booking again and again for all our travel needs.

I contacted several crematory places here in Oahu, in hopes that they could do a memorable clay foot print for our bird, and out of all the places that replied, only Oahu Pet Crematory said they had this service available. This meant so much to us especially when I know things such as clay prints are more normalized for pet dogs / cats, so I am beyond grateful that Oahu Pet Crematory provided this service for our little one. Unfortunately our other bird we lost before this, we weren't even given the option for a clay print (as we went through the vet), so I regret not contacting Oahu Pet Crematory directly before , as we could've had our other baby's too. The workers at Oahu Pet Crematory were so kind. They asked us questions about our baby to learn about him, and it really made us feel understood and cared for. The day after dropping him off, he was ready to be picked up. So it was really great to know we could bring our baby back home instantly. Absolutely Thee BEST Pet Sitter!…read more We cannot say enough wonderful things about Shelly! She did an absolutely amazing job taking care of our fur baby, Kolohe, while we were away. It meant so much to us that she came by for a little mini meet-and-greet beforehand to reconnect with Kolohe, especially since it had been several months since she last watched our baby girl. Shelly was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond with every visit. She made sure Kolohe always had fresh food and water, kept her food bowl clean and free of pesky ants, played with her using her favorite toy, gave her treats, and cleaned her litter box. She even took the time to clean up a hairball and a dead cockroach that Kolohe had left behind and did a little mini vacuuming to get the ants cleaned up and away from her food area. Those little extra touches meant so much to us because we knew Kolohe was being cared for with genuine love and attention--not just checked on. Then, when the hurricane storm was happening and we were off island, Shelly went above and beyond yet again. She made a last-minute trip over to check on Kolohe, give her some extra love, make sure the windows were closed, and make sure our baby girl was safe while we were unable to get home. Knowing someone we trusted was there for her during the storm gave us such peace of mind. Shelly is kind, loving, communicative, dependable, and truly treats our Kolohe like her own. We especially appreciate how communicative she is because we always knew how our girl was doing while we were away. I wish we would have just skipped the whole Cat's Meow Inn months-of-waiting-only-to-be-dropped ordeal, and just called Jan first. Live and learn. Jan is the very gracious and kind proprietor of the Cozy Cat Lodge, Kailua. Within minutes of The Cat's Meow dumping us on short notice, Jan had put our minds at ease. With basic vet admin details already attended to we were able to drop our kitty off the next morning and make our flight. Cozy Cat Lodge is open and airy, with comfortable, individual enclosures within a secure, screened, well-protected area. At the foot of the Pali, in a quiet, nice neighborhood, it's open to fresh breezes and the sounds of birds. Jan is easy to talk to, professional, on top of the details, very kind, knowledgeable and is as much in love with cats as we are with ours. I didn't worry about our cat or her care even one time, even on this last extended visit out of the country. And I'm a very nervous cat-parent. I'm a loyal customer!!

I contacted Cat Lodge owner, Jan, by email and she was prompt to call me the next day. Before dropping off my cat, she arranged a time for me to stop by and check out where he'd be staying. The Cozy Cat Lodge, on a quiet street in Kailua, is on Jan's lanai (sheltered and protected from the elements) so the cat guests have fresh air and can bird watch. Cats have spacious 'suites' with cute names; my kitty is staying in the 'Blueberry Suite' and he's got both a garden and pool view. The suites and areas for the cats are well taken care of, there are no disturbing smells and their litter boxes and eating spaces are clean. She had a number of cat guests when I visited and they all looked at ease with their temporary home. If you're boarding more than one cat, Jan places them in a bigger suite. The suites give them ample room for rest and play. During the day, Jan lets the cats into the playroom individually (or together if they're from the same family). The playroom has cat condos and chairs for playing or lounging. Jan inquires about feeding instructions (you supply your own food) and she gives the cats treats at bed time. And, she's not setup for visits, but she let me come by to check on my cat since he's on an extended vacation (15 days) and I miss him dearly. I was stressed out about leaving my beloved cat in the hands of a stranger but after my pre-visit, drop-off and visit during his stay, I'm confident I've left my baby with the right boarding company. It might be good for rehab sessions or even if you needed your dog to release their crazy energy. They were at a event in Kapolei this past weekend so we were lucky to try this out. I thought the baby would have been the best at it since he usually has a lot of energy, but i think he was confused and scared, but they did a great job with him tho! They were all very friendly and had great customer service. I also like that they're mobile so you don't have to go to them which saves you a lot of time. I used to drive out to mililani from town and it takes about 45 mins each way, so every little thing is helpful! Not sure if pet insurance covers this type of thing tho! but i see it could be helpful with PT.

When my family came back to Kailua from Okinawa with a new dog this office wasn't open. Yesterday my dog was not acting like himself. His normal vet could not get him in. So I decided to call around and noticed Kailua Pet Hospital was opened and decided to call. The gentleman at the front got me in within an hour. Dr. Thornburg was amazing and my dog felt comfortable with everyone in the office. Everything was explained to me throughly. It was determined that my dog most likely injured his neck so he was given the meds he needed to help with recovery. Today I can tell he's feeling much better.
