We went in today praying it wouldn't be too expensive - the engine light was on. It turned out an engine sensor had to be removed and cleaned, and we were a bit low on oil. I just recently moved to GB and found these guys on Yelp…read more I've had an obnoxious squeaking in my car for a while now and I saved up a chunk of cash to get it fixed. About $1,000. I took it in to them to get it diagnosed and they told me it was my upper control arm and it would only be like a $250 fix. Fantastic. They then told me that my brakes were down to pretty much nothing and they would need to be replaced. This is something I could've done on my own for much cheaper but since I had the cash, I figured why not just have them do it, they were all very nice and it looks to be a relatively new business, so I told them go for it. With the brakes added on my bill was now $1,100. Over my budget, but again, no biggie they seem like good guys. When I picked it up and drove it home I noticed pretty much immediately that the squeaking wasn't even so much as muffled, it was not fixed at all. I'm not sure why they wouldn't test drive it after to make sure that the problem was fixed, especially because that's the whole reason I brought it in. Shortly after this my car starts beeping at me nonstop saying that my parking brake is on, and when I try to turn it off it says parking brake function is limited and to service immediately. Now, this could definitely just be a crazy coincidence, but the timing of them just replacing my brakes and then that happening is like I said, crazy. So I call them up and talked to the owner and he told me to bring it back in and they would make it right. They then told me that the parking brake wire got frayed somehow and they fixed that up free of charge. Great, thank you. But they then told me that the squeaking was actually the Lower control arm. This control arm is DOUBLE the price of the first one and that's at their cost. $513. If I knew this the first time I went in I would have just got that replaced and done the brakes myself. So instead of a 1-2 day $500 fix, I spent over $1600 and they had my car for about a week all together. When I picked it up I asked who I believe was the owner to take it for a drive to confirm there was no squeaking, and he said no problem. I planned on telling him that I was pretty upset and wanted him to work with me on the price considering it doesn't even seem like I needed the initial control arm they put in. I was gone for 5 minutes and when I came back the employee told me he had just left. So I'm pretty ticked off about that too. All in all, like I said everyone I spoke with was very friendly. Other than that I honestly feel completely ripped off by these guys.

After I paid for the services I went out and started my car. While in park, my car felt like it was going to die. Then when I was driving at a slow speed and then accelerated it would slightly shake. I ended up bringing my car to my regular mechanic because there was fluid on my garage floor the day after my oil change, I could smell something burning and my car still felt like it was going to die at a slow speed/in park. My mechanic then notified me that there was a total of 10 quarts of oil that was added at my recent oil change on Monday. I was also informed that having this much oil could have caused my engine to blow and seize the entire engine.

TL/DR *Extremely poor communication…read more*Lack of accountability *Service timeline estimates are inconsistent and change daily *Sketchy practices *Take your used Volvo anywhere else I would NOT recommend getting your vehicle serviced at this dealership, unless it was purchased new from them or is CPO through the manufacturer,or you are willing to wait the better part of a month for your car to be completed as the service department seemingly does not prioritize older non warranty vehicles. I brought my vehicle here to have a airbox replaced as it was cracked on 6/27/25; the required parts were ordered the same day and the car was scheduled to go in and be repaired the week of 6/30/25. Parts came in and the car was scheduled to be fixed on 7/1/25. This was pushed to 7/2/25, on 7/2/25 we were called that morning that the service had to be pushed to 7/7/25 and was supposed to be done 7/8/25, that got pushed to 7/9/25, and again being pushed to 7/10/25. On 7/10/25 the car ended up being delayed to that afternoon, but according to my dash-cam video/gps and the Volvo app my car was still on the lift with the hood up and door or window down at 11:45 7/10/25. The car was then eventually finished on 7/11/25 and delivered back to my house that afternoon. Once I received the car I was greeted by "headlamp system malfunction, Service Required" on the dashboard. This was after the dealer had closed, so I called and left a message on 7/11/25; I had received a call back the morning of 7/14/25 where Salem seemed to hide behind the car's mileage causing the damage and not the tech working where the sensor is located causing the damage. Salem did agreed to diagnose the car and pick it up that week to check out the car. I did not hear back from Salem for the rest of the day or all 7/15/25. After being ignored, I called the service manager Jovani on 7/16/25, and scheduled my car to be pick up and looked at a second time on 7/17/25; the pickup ended up getting delayed to 7/18/25. The car was not looked at by the tech until 7/23/25 and parts were ordered. I finally received my car fixed on 7/29/25, after the dealer tried to invoice my for the part that a tech appeared to damage.

We had the car towed to the dealer where it was determined it needed a new battery, some recall issues repaired, and a cracked oil pan. First, I have to say that everyone was absolutely wonderful. Someone even helped patiently explain the car to my mom and I, which was really appreciated. I am disappointed, however, that within three weeks it appears the brakes need to be repaired. The invoice stated that "a guest states battery is (sic) died and please do full inspection on vehicle." I tried to email the service advisor who emailed me the receipt and received no response. I have left a voicemail with a manager and am hopeful for a return call. I originally gave this review a star rating of 3; because I was disappointed something went wrong so quickly. I have updated my review to 5 because I did receive a call back from Bergstrom and they are making me whole. I cannot say again how pleasant everyone has been to deal with and after this experience, I would recommend them.
