Since I wanted to improve my own performance on the court, I started training with Justin--and I've been stoked with the results. He has a great ability to translate the science of training into sport-specific performance. If you're an athlete looking to level up, Justin definitely knows his stuff.

I've worked with several trainers over the years, but what sets Justin apart is his deep knowledge of the scientific literature. He studies what actually works (and what doesn't), which makes an enormous difference when it comes to making smart training decisions. There's so much "bro science" out there, and it's a relief to have someone in your corner who can cut through all of that noise. Another thing I've especially valued is how he's helped me work through injuries. In the past, flare-ups would sideline me and force me to stop training altogether. With Justin, it's been different--when my shoulder flared up around July, he adjusted my program, experimented with variations, and helped me find movements that didn't aggravate the problem. I was worried I'd have to stop, but instead he had me switch/modify exercises and stay consistent. It's now September and I'm back to my pre-July intensity with better and safer form so as not to re-aggravate the joint problems. Working with Justin has been a game-changer for me, both in terms of progress and longevity in training.

This organization is about using fitness and community as a motivator for making positive changes in women's lives. We would have a great 45 min workout (with awesome music I might add) and then discussion time afterwards on a topic related to personal growth that helped everyone to open up and share more and support one another. If you guys are looking for a great tennis trainer pick up the phone now and call ALEX KAIDI…read more (sounds like a tv ad...lol). Seriously, I have been playing tennis since I was 14 and played it for like 12 years until I stopped and focus on other things and decided a couple of years ago to pick up the sport again. I went online and got myself a trainer from San Francisco last 2006 but he was never really that good. Since I am no longer a beginner, Alex just needs to help me brush up on my strokes and timing and all those suff but then I have bad habits so he made me start all over again...so it felt like i was a beginner once more which is actually good, i changed practivally everything... i have a different grip now (he thought me the one that federer uses)...my backhand and forehand slices are better...i used to have a onehand backhand but now i can do two fisted and can execute down the line shots (djokovic style)....he overhauled my game and now I am a better tennis player...i changed my racket preferences too (the weight, head size, tension and all). So anytime you want to learn tennis and play like a pro call him and he will surely help you get to those winning shots.

It has been so nice to train knowing someone is watching my movements while helping me reach my goals. In my experience, Perform for Golf is an ordinary gym, not a golf-specific training center…read more I was intrigued by P4G's marketing, which promoted elite golf trainers, simulator access, and mental performance coaching. After a pre-call with the owner to discuss my golf goals, I signed up for the monthly subscription. Upon my first visit, I was surprised to learn that my trainer doesn't play golf and doesn't have extensive experience training golfers, but rather specializes in post-natal training for new mothers. The onboarding email told me to bring a 7-iron to my session for swing analysis, but I was informed onsite that I wouldn't need it, as they don't do swing assessments at the Hayes Valley location (maybe they do at other locations). My assessment used none of the technology showcased in this video: https://www.performforgolf.com/how-it-works and had nothing golf-specific. Just some basic stretches and ordinary dumbbell exercises. Aside from the golf branding, the only aspect of the gym that appeared tailored to golf was access to the Titleist TPI mobile app. They highlight that their trainers are TPI certified; however, in researching the program, it appears one can get certified with only ~10 hours of self-paced videos. Hardly the level of elite golf experience that the website testimonials from professional golfers led me to believe. The facility is an ordinary gym. A few mats, racks of free weights, benches, etc. Serviceable, but standard. They do have golf simulators, which members have access to although I didn't have the chance to see one. I had to purchase a package of personal training sessions up front before my initial assessment. My unused sessions were not refunded after my first visit didn't live up to expectations. If you want an ordinary gym with personal training and its locations are convenient, Perform for Golf may be a great option for you. If you're serious about golf and looking for a golf-specific training center, this product falls short of the company's marketing.

Not only did Camilo help me to drop the quarantine 15, he provided me with custom macro nutrient plan that is sustainable for me. His plan is approachable and still allows me to live my life in a way that doesn't feel like I'm being restricted. I would highly recommend working with Camilo! He is attentive and is passionate about helping all of his clients reach their personal goals. His weekly check ins help keep me accountable. Prior to working with Camilo, losing weight/burning fat was somewhat of a mystery to me. I felt…read morelittle agency over my body and felt I always generally looked the same regardless of if I worked out. Then I started at Orange Theory where the first time in my life I enjoyed "the gym" and met Camilo. I knew that my exercise was doing good for me but I knew little about nutrition and how really changing my diet could shift my body and health even more, so I decided to work with Camilo to learn and see what was possible. Camilo taught me to track my food, and about macros- how it's important not to eat less than your metabolic base, to eat enough protein to build muscle and boost your metabolism, and to cut carbs to a sustainable but lowered amount. I learned to track my steps and how to incorporate more walking into my day even though I have a desk job. I learned a lot more about lifting weights, and started lifting heavier than I've ever done and feeling stronger than I've ever been. It was not easy, but every week I lost about a pound. After 14 weeks I lost about 14 pounds roughly, went from 33.5% to 24.8% body fat, and lost about 1.25 inches off my waistline. Throughout it all Camilo was incredibly supportive. Through his biweekly check ins and just generally being on call to support when I had questions or felt frustrated and wanted to give up because I felt progress was too slow or too hard. I do generally feel he helped me learn to live in a way that I can sustainably lose weight if I want to and still enjoy my life - no starving yourself or enjoying that things that make you happy. It forced me to learn to make new recipes, understand portion sizes better, incorporate WAY more protein and ultimately drink less (which is one on my vices). I'm overall healthier and happier and I don't think I could have done it without Camilo's coaching along the way- he will be your constant cheerleader! I highly recommend. Even if it's just for a while to learn how to do it, it can be an empowering experience!
