Went to get my eyebrows done for my birthday and decided to come here after driving by it a few times. I needed a new brow thread place since I just moved to the area and this one was the closest to me. I walk in and there was nobody else there except the worker. She was on the phone with someone and it sounded pretty intense. She asked me to take a seat and she would be with me shortly. After about a few minutes sitting and waiting when I was the only customer there, she ended up going to the back of the store to continue talking to whoever she was talking to on the phone. It sounded pretty personal so after 15min of waiting, I decided to leave because I didn't wait to have to wait any longer and I felt like maybe the worker needed some privacy. I honestly hate to write this review because Sam's work on my brows has always been good, but her attitude and professionalism are the worst I've experienced. I've been a client for almost a year, and while I've tolerated her behavior up to now, my most recent visit was the last straw. I had an appointment scheduled for 4:10, but I showed up at 3:05 just to ask if she could take me in earlier. I was met with the rudest and nastiest attitude, being told she was "really, really busy" and I had to come at my scheduled time. Mind you she was sitting on her phone with a client in her chair. But when I went to cancel my appointment, I noticed she had available slots at 3:20 and beyond. It felt completely unnecessary and unprofessional. It would have been okay if she had just said to come later nicely. At first, Sam comes off as really nice, showering you with compliments, but once she considers you an established client, her true colors come out. As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect, not as if I'm an inconvenience the moment I walk in. Sadly, all the negative reviews about her attitude are completely accurate. She accepts payments through Venmo and similar services, and all the transactions appear as "payments among friends." Pretty sure you need to have a business account set up with these services because we are certainly not friends. Just be honest, Sam--transparency matters! I've been coming to Sam for over 6 years to do my eyebrows. When I moved to Davis I would still come all the way to Rancho Cordova to have my eyebrows done from her. She is the sweetest woman and whenever I see her it's always a feeling of family and I've seen that personally with other clients as well. I get it's her business, but if there's a sign on the door that says all must wear one... it would have been nice to know she would not be included in that count. It is unfortunate that I have to write this review because Sam does do a good job. However, that being said, she does not have business etiquette when it comes to keeping scheduled appointments with her clients. In more than one occasion, she will close her shop with no warning (i.e. courtesy call and/or text) to her customers that have a scheduled appointment. This time around, I give her no more exceptions/excuses to her lack of business etiquette, as my daughter drove a good 40 minutes to her confirmed appointment with Sam. We sat outside her closed doors realizing she did it again. I called her establishment, and she texted back "I'm so sorry can I see ya at 2"? (The answer is no Sam, that is why we make appointments and the fact that you could not reach out to us beforehand to advise us of your cancellation, is not the way to do business.) Sam, a word of advice, LEARN to reach out to your clients, they too have a schedule to keep. Moreover, your clients will understand that things come up. Again, your eyebrow work is great, but about the way you do your business, it's not so great. read more

She then asked me for a picture of how my eyebrows looked when I got them done, I told her I got them done 2 months ago and showed her a picture, and she proceeded to tell me she's uncomfortable to do my eyebrows because me having "high expectations, demanding and unrealistic I am being with how little hair" I have and "all the bald spots"I have on my eyebrows even though I was very shy and polite:(. She said that I must have razored it myself bc it grew out totally different from the last picture. Ofc my eyebrows won't look the same after growing it out 2 months later.... I came here around 12:50pm. It was my first time and I was so nervous. My friend told me getting eyebrows threaded will hurt. However, when I did it with Sam Q, she made it quick and painless. I was done about 10minutes or less. Also, she put aloe vera on your eyebrows to help with the inflammation( redness) after she had thread your eyebrows. i will definitely go back to this place even though I live like 20-30minute away. read more
