Jessica was my esthetician. She talked me through the process and evaluated my skin as I asked her questions. She had the greatest demeanor and easy to get along attitude. But when it came to the actual process, she created a relaxing, quiet mood. She was gentle with the extractions and provided delicately firm massages. Talking about massages, the table was a heated massage table. Nice. I also added a hand treatment. After the hydra facial, I was shown the water. It was cloudy, not too bad as I was told. She advised me on some products they offer, not a hard sell pitch. I declined; she didn't hard press which I appreciate. My face was glowing (luminous and rosy) and seemed less poof-y afterwards. My hands felt more moisturized. The dry skin on my inner palm gently sloughed off. The next day, they looked revitalized. Pricing is comparable or less expensive to other local places. The facility is clean and is gorgeously designed. It has a calming white color scheme. Giving off modern, posh vibes without the pretentiousness or clinical feeling. For my first time, we decided on the vitamin C facial. I'm 59, so I figured anything rejuvenating would be great. The waiting area is very tranquil and she offers you water or tea. The place is spotless. The very excellent Briana, my esthetician, took care of me from there on out. One thing that really stands out for me about this Spa is that the rooms are large, almost like a bedroom. So many Spas have tiny closets with a rickety cot in them, and paper thin walls. Their four rooms are spacious, private and welcoming. The beds are feather soft. Brianna made sure to take care of my every need, as I have a bad back and neck...she was very thoughtful about that. She also seemed very knowledgeable about skin problems. I highly recommend the vitamin C facial which starts at 60 bucks for first timers. The Citrus smell, combined with the Steam and then warm towels and a firm yet comfortable neck and shoulder massage unravels all your worries :-) Although they do have a lot of product in the front, they don't push it on you. It was only when I asked for advice on a cleanser that Briana told me the options. The location in Charming Old Fair Oaks Village is perfect and I like to support local small businesses :-). I will definitely be coming back. The prices for their services and product are quite reasonable compared with others in the area. We greatly appreciate the explanation with the appointment system and the willingness to get my hubs back on the schedule for the massage he signed up for. My hubs was hesitant to come back after his last session and especially after my review (he didn't know I was writing) but Elena & Jennifer helped him feel at ease of coming back and making it extremely flexible to rebook an appointment to come back in. Hubs went back to get the much needed deep pressure massage from Jennifer at The Spa Simply Skin. Both Elena and Jennifer were present to greet him. The ambiance of the room was serene as it was before. He keeps telling me about the nice Buddha in the massage room. Jennifer asked if the headrest area was ok was comfortable this time before proceeding. This time she asked about the massage pressure and if it was firm enough. She worked on getting his knots out which was greatly needed. She used a tool on his hands up/down his forearm that he said made him feel really good. He does repetitive work with his hands (handy electrician) and this helped relieve tension. I was caught off guard when Dr. Boparai walked in. I assumed I was seeing Dr. Champlin, but that was MY FAULT for not checking. Dr. Boparai said Dr. Champlin retired earlier this year. However, I decided to get them because they were having a special for $399 (which is 50% off). Lesson learned. I get them done & immediately knew they were uneven. I was so sad, but I was like it's fine maybe it will get better let them settle... Then I get an infection. They were amazing about that- in making sure I got abx that same day. Dr. Boparai wanted to see what was going on, so I go in the next day. She stated, this has never happened before... I was trying to show her where my lips where uneven, but it was near the site of infection. She said finish the abx, wait the two weeks, & we will go from there. So, I wait & scheduled my appt thinking I was getting more filler that day. However, there was some miscommunication & that appt became a consultation. She was saying with the discount & how much product she was using she's basically covering the cost... which I thought was REALLY unprofessional. She's not wrong, but this is your business & that shouldn't be any of your patient's concern. She ran the promotion, NOT ME. At this point, Dr. Boparai said she will reach out to the rep & let me know. She was able to get a syringe. Cool. I just wanted to get it over with because it has caused so much anxiety. I come to the appt & show her where I want it. As she's preparing the needle etc, she's like you should write me a Yelp review since I'm getting in such a small area. I literally thought in my head... You mean for doing your job, which should have been done correctly the first time! So, here I am writing that Yelp review she asked for MULTIPLE TIMES Now she's injecting my bottom R lip & doesn't want to get too close to the borders (which is correct), but ends up putting it all in the corner of my mouth. AT THAT MOMENT I KNEW ohh SHE HAS NO IDEA WHAT SHE'S DOING! I told her to stop because it was going in the WRONG AREA. Now it was overfilled & more uneven then when we started. She's like "you're unhappy." I said yah "I used to have beautiful lips" (she said I still did). At that point I'm just done. Dr. Boparai (herself) offered a possible option to have a more experienced injector fix it. She's like I'd rather fix it now. So I'm showing her AGAIN... when it FINALLY CLICKED when she looked from my pov. In my head I'm like so you just were injecting without even fully knowing what I was talking about? LOL. We tried one more time... I'm like can you add some here & FINALLY it became more even Thank God. So as I'm leaving I still wasn't sure if I was going to have to pay because she never gave me a definitive answer. Luckily, she didn't charge me, which I very appreciative of. *Side note: stuff from reps are free* I never looked up Dr. Boparai's credentials because I was expecting Dr. Champlin & at that point it didn't matter the damage was already done. BUT Now, I'm curious. Once I see that she was a PCP everything made sense! THIS IS MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION, BUT I WOULD HAVE NEVER LET HER TOUCH MY FACE knowing she's a PCP. Yes, I know you can be trained & still do well, but that comes with time & practice & I felt like I was her first ever patient. Almost done, trust it's been annoying typing up, But I had to give the full story. I'm still unhappy & it was bothering me ALL DAY-everyday. I'm like no, just call. Mind you, Dr. Boparai HERSELF brought up the idea of having someone else come fix my lips, so I assumed that was still an option. I had already made up my mind I wouldn't let her touch me anymore, I just wanted someone who knew what they were doing TO MAKE MY LIPS EVEN. I called last Thursday & was advised to send pics & they will reach out to the reps & call me back. There was NO COMMUNICATION. At this point I felt like they were ghosting me. My friend was like do you want to call from my phone I started laughing because I'm like no I'm not in a toxic relationship. I shouldn't have to do that... This is supposed to be a professional business. They finally text me back on Wednesday (yesterday) almost a week later. She said she can remove them, but will not give me any additional filler. Okay that's fine I just want them back to normal. She tells me it will be $250 & went on to explain AGAIN how I got it for 50 % off plus the additional syringe. Again, not my fault they decided to do a promotion. Nope I'm done. I will pay to get them removed from a reputable lip injector. Like Dr. Boparai emphasized we both took financial losses. I would never recommend her, 0/10.

Obviously, one of my experiences was with an MT that gave the worst massage of my life. BUT, we as a family have been visiting this spa for a very long time and still wanted to support and try again. Much to our joy, the business has opened up an extension space that offers a side by side couples massage experience and that's what we indulged in. My wife was scheduled with Amanda, and I had..... I believe her name was Rani? not sure of the spelling. Rani was attentive, QUIET, asked how pressure and comfort was, and largely just focused on the Swedish massage, instead of talking the entire time like my last visit here with a different therapist. So, for this time around, I appreciate that Rani gave a pleasant massage. Amanda is a rockstar and my wife loves getting massages with her. In fact, I get jealous because I wish I could have a massage from Amanda as well, which I could, but she can't clone herself for two side by side if we do the couples suite. This is a very cute spa and we love to support local business. I do see us returning in the future for self care treatments. My only concern is that when calling or texting to schedule for massages, I expect........ that whomever is discussed as a name within that conversation, that will be the massage therapist or therapists (couples) that are present day of.
