Incredible attention to detail. Better results than the 'luxury' shops for a much better price. I recently brought my SUV to Jim at **Perfection Auto Detailing** on South Congress (right near Hill's Cafe), and I couldn't be happier with the results. I have two kids, so even though I try to keep the car tidy, it inevitably ends up with the usual signs of family life--crumbs in the crevices, sticky fingerprints on the doors, and plenty of dust. It wasn't in terrible shape, but it definitely felt "lived in" and was overdue for a serious reset. Jim did an absolutely phenomenal job. He is clearly an "old-school" professional who takes a lot of pride in his craft. He didn't just wipe it down; he meticulously detailed every inch. When I picked it up, the interior felt crisp and brand new again. The leather was perfectly conditioned (not greasy), and he managed to get all those tricky spots around the seats that are usually impossible to reach. What really impressed me was the value. I have paid significantly more at other "high-end" detailing shops in Austin and received less attention to detail. I used to get my headlights cleaned at a car wash, but I moved, and now I can't find a car wash that does it. Then I found Perfection Auto Detailing, which does headlight restoration for $60. The difference in my headlights is like night and day! They look brand new. Jim is the GOAT!! I decided pretty last minute to get the interior of my brother's car detailed as a "thank you" for loaning it to me while I was shopping for a new one. Jim had a cancelled appointment and was able to squeeze me in on short notice, which was SO appreciated. After looking it over he warned me some things might not come out, which was fine because I was already managing my expectations. Some of those stains were pretty rough. Oh man I wish I had taken a before photo of my headlight because the results are AMAZING. I came to Jim at Perfection Auto Detailing after Hall of Fame Detail did such a terrible job that my car looked worse than it did before I had them work on it. Dealing with them was a nightmare, I found Jim through a google search and asked him for advice on how to fix what they did, because nothing that I tried at home worked. He told me to come by the shop so he could take a look and when I met him he showed me the chemical and technique I could use to make my car look new and clean again with absolutely no expectation for me to book with him. Can't say much that hasn't been said already... all the positive comments from the other reviewers, even the ones that sound over-the-top, are spot-on. Based only on these reviews I booked Jim for an inside and out detail of my 5 year old sedan (which often carries a kid just slightly older, and looked it) and it came back like new. Jim missed nothing and managed to remove the red stamp pad ink which had been ground into my tan leather seat by a car seat that sat on top of it, with a kid in it, for at least a couple weeks until it was discovered. Perfection is no exaggeration! The day you get your car done at Perfection is the day you say goodbye to being pissed off after paying beaucoup-bucks for a lousy detail. I tried this shop out recently. The moment I saw my sweet little ride sitting in the Perfection carport after getting detailed, I knew I would would never get my car detailed anywhere in Austin but Perfection in ever again. Still, I didn't fully grasp how amazing this detail was until the friendly gentleman walked me around the car to show me some of the little places where dirt had previously resided. The inside of my black leather interior was covered in white, greasy sunscreen when I dropped it off. When Perfection was done with it, my car literally looked brand new. I've never seen it this clean. There was clearly a ton of work and pride put into cleaning the interior and exterior. I'd never seen the true color of my rims before going to Perfection because of the years and years of brake dust built up on them. Perfection cleaned ALL that gunk up. Hours and hours spent doing a wash and wax myself in the past never got it anywhere close to as clean as this. This man is just really, REALLY good at detailing cars. They did an incredible job and were nice about it too.will never have to experience another detail experience that is anything short of amazing ever again. For that, I will happily book my appointment in advance. A little patience or planning yields an incredible experience for around $200, which is extremely fair. $200 elsewhere in town buys me a mediocre detail and a tolerable experience at best. Not here! This place truly deserves 5 stars. Imagine this: You get a phone call after the owner of the shop worked all day long on your car and your car alone. You go to pick your car, and it's ready and waiting for you. The person who did the work walks you around the vehicle and points out the primary bodies of work that went into your immaculate detail job. He places your freshly cleaned mats into the car after showing you how clean it is, and politely rings you up for a very reasonable fee after giving you plenty of opportunity to express any concerns you may have. For the first time, you know what it's like to be thrilled with your car wash. You feel good because you got to pay after you saw the great work that was done. You see the interior of your rims, the edges around the gas cap, every cranny in your door jam, and the tiny spaces between the stitches in your upholstery. Your rear view mirror is so clear, it feels a little trippy to look into it at first. There's not a spec of dirt in your trunk. The junk that was left in the trunk after you thought you'd cleaned it out is neatly placed in a little stack. Your car looks new. Your paint sparkles like the Mediterranean on a sunny day. Rolling back your convertible top reveals more, stellar attention to detail. You roll your windows up and the glass is streak free because the car was dry. You realize you should have washed your hands beforehand because your car is cleaner than anything else you own. Go to Perfection and this will be your car detailing experience. read more

I called Jim early on a Friday morning to make an appointment, but the weekend weather was awesome and he was booked up - he asked me what I needed and he did offer to make time for me anyhow later that weekend - which he didn't have to do. I dropped off my car and picked it up hours later looking and smelling, deep clean and refreshed. Forgotten jambs, nooks and crannies that I occasionally took notice of being dusty or grimy now were polished and shined. No corners were cut, no detail left halfway completed. It's like my car had a long overdue spa day! P.S. Jim made time to detail my car even after having major set backs that I as a reasonable person would have accepted to reschedule. Took in a 11-year old Nissan Maxima for a complete detail. The car emerged looking as new as it could possibly look for it's age. Interiors were super clean and even looked cleaner than when we purchased the car some nine years ago. The leather seats look pristine. No chemical smells whatsoever after we got the car back. SPEACHLESS!! The car I took to Jim was a 2006 PT Cruiser convertible that my family had bought brand new. My mother had taken great care of the care while it was with our family. She always had people stopping her in the grocery store and shopping mall parking lots to tell her how nice it looked. It was also my first car in high school. But, three or four years ago, we had to leave the car with our relatives since we were all leaving the country. I picked it up recently and quite literally cried when I saw it. It had taken A BEATING. The entire exterior (incl. the cloth top) was covered in millions of little white wax spots as well as some big streaks, the headlights were opaque, and it just, overall, looked dull and beat up. The interior had dirt, dog hair, mystery stains, and even pine tree debris *everywhere*. The smallest of smallest cracks was just full of crap! The steering wheel was sticky, the seats were absolutely disgusting, and the car had a smell so bad that I couldn't leave the windows up. I was so embarrassed to drive it when running errands and even just to leave it in the parking lot of my apartment building. When I took my car to get quoted by Jim, he walked around my car with me and pointed out every little thing he would clean, shine, and polish for me. He had an honest and enthusiastic conversation with me about my car and eagerly answered all of my questions. In other words, Jim really made me feel like he would respect the sentimental value I had for this little car and take greater care when detailing. And, BOY, DID HE!! When I went to pick up my car at the end of the day, a HUGE smile spread across my face as we turned into Jim's parking lot and I saw my little blue convertible just SHINING under his carport. IT LOOKED LIKE NEW!! All the millions of specks of wax were nowhere to be found, even from the cloth top which multiple detailing shops had warned me I shouldn't get my hopes about, and the headlights were completely clear again. I was so excited and then absolutely blown away when I got to take a look at the inside! The dirt, hair, tree debris, stains, etc. that once filled the cup holders, the center console compartments, the cracks around/inside the gear selector, the surfaces of the seats, the floors, the metal under the seats, the door handles, the dashboard, the interior frame, the gap behind the front door's hinges, the everything! He even cleaned, shined, and polished areas like where my soft top meets the frame of the car upon closing and the inside of gas tank door! It was very obvious that Jim put a LOT of elbow grease into getting the wax off the exterior and cleaning all of those little cracks in my car. No more dirt, no more dog hair, no more debris, no more stickiness, no more dull, no more stinky smell, no more embarrassment, no more shame! I LOVE how my car turned out and I love driving it again! With its current level of exterior shine and interior pristine, I think it holds its own parked next to the latest Mercedes:) THANK YOU, JIM! read more

He was very professional and easy to work with; he confirmed the appointment the day before and provided clear instructions on the drop-off location. When you are ready to get your vehicle clean - and I do mean clean - give Jim a call at Perfection Auto Detailing. It had been over a year since I washed my car before I brought it to Jim. My car (2006 Pontiac G6) wasn't terrible looking, but there was plenty of dirt and grime that needed to be taken care of. But that's not why I'm writing this review. I'm writing it because Jim surprised the hell out of me in two ways. My tan colored car seats were stained when I first received the car as a hand-me-down. They were spotted and downright ugly. I'd say Jim removed 90-95% of these stains. I did not expect that, though I was certainly hoping for it. But his next trick was even more impressive. There was a long streak of red paint on the side of my car due to a parking lot accident, and it was an eyesore. Anyone who saw my car would ask what happened. Well, those days are done. There is still some slight indication that there was an accident (some scratches), but that red paint has disappeared. I couldn't believe my eyes. I just wish I had the foresight to take photos.
