When placing my order, I told Steve multiple times that I wanted a wall-mounted controller for my motorized blinds. Despite this, the blinds were installed with the wrong controller. I contacted Steve immediately after installation and was told that I needed to pay my remaining balance in full before they could communicate with the factory and order the correct wall-mounted controller. I paid the balance as requested. After receiving full payment, Steve completely stopped responding. I sent multiple text messages, emails, and made phone calls over several weeks asking for an update, and every attempt was ignored. I have screenshots showing that I requested the wall-mounted controller before installation, that Steve acknowledged needing to order it from the factory, and that he stopped responding after payment was collected. Mistakes happen, and I would have understood if providing the wrong controller had simply been an oversight. What I cannot accept is being ignored after paying in full and trying repeatedly to resolve an issue caused by the company. If you choose to work with Vineyard Blinds & Shades, make sure you consider not only the installation itself, but also whether you'll be able to get help if something goes wrong afterward. Based on my experience, once they have your money, getting a response may become impossible.

We used the Duette Room Darkening Honeycombs and matched room color in the Architella Elan fabric shade coverings in three bedrooms. The fit is exact. The installation went smoothly and the technicians programmed the remotes for us and also helped us set up the PowerView app on our phones to easily open/close shades and set favorite shade-up positions. We recently moved to a place that did not have blinds and began using temporary paper blinds. We originally contacted Rebarts Interiors in Los Altos as they had a done a great job with our previous place's Hunter Douglas blinds. We booked their earliest available slot for a design consultation, which was 5 weeks into the future. While waiting, we decided to check out some other Hunter Douglas suppliers. Ego Blinds was the first place we stopped by on a Saturday. Mr. Shin helped us and told us he could do our design consultation that same afternoon. He came over and measured all our windows while my husband and I tried out different color samples and made our selections. I should note that the design consultation was a bit different that our consultation with Rebarts several years prior. The Rebarts consultant gave us lots of suggestions on style, color, etc. and helped us pick the design. Our consultation with Ego Blinds was more self-directed, but this was fine with us as we had a pretty good idea of what we were interested in. Mr. Shin told us the installation would happen in about 3-4 weeks. But he actually far exceeded our expectations by installing the blinds just 2 weeks after the consultation! So we ended up getting all the shades in our house installed before the time for our Rebarts design consultation even happened! (For comparison, several years ago, it took 7 weeks for Rebarts from consultation to installation.) We got blackout Duette top-down bottom-up shades for the bedrooms and roller shades for the common areas. We got our main bedroom shades motorized, and it has been great to be able to schedule the shades to open shortly before our morning alarm (so that we wake up naturally to the sunlight). They carefully measured all the windows, provided a comprehensive quote, and updated it several times to accommodate my evolving preferences (it's astounding there are so many colors, fabrics, and styles to choose from). The quality of the shades they installed is very high and the mechanisms to open and close them work smoothly. One of the best designs is a top-down, bottom-up shade that allows us to cover the bottom portion of a bathroom window (creating privacy while still allowing sun to stream in at the top). I also really like the sheer blinds that provide a perfect mix of light and privacy in the entry hallway. The installation process went very smoothly, with a true expert doing the work. We understood, but we wish this had been communicated earlier, as we spent quite a bit of time preparing detailed information before learning that we would need to wait. In the meantime, we contacted other blinds companies, and they were happy to provide preliminary quotes and measurements and were much more responsive. By the time our drywall was completed, we had decided to move forward with another company. I'm giving 2 stars because Icy was responsive at the beginning, but overall, the experience was disappointing. Their other reviews are very positive, so perhaps we just had an unfortunate experience.
