First, a woman at the front questioned me when I said it was gel polish. She said it was builder gel. It wasn't. Not a big deal though. Then I was directed to pick a color from the wall. Pretty standard. However there was really no greeting, no instructions about the multiple shelves of polish, no request to sign in, I had to ask. Again, none of this was a big deal. My manicurist again checked my nails to see if it was builder gel or if I had tips. Again, no. She half soaked my nails and half used the electric file to sand off the gel polish. Overall, she seemed inconvenienced and like she was rushing to work on another client. She cut my cuticle which caused it to bleed. She wiped the blood off with a paper towel that she continued to use and wipe everywhere. She never cleaned my cut cuticle with any sanitizer. Then she ushered me over to the pedicure chair. And left me there for a little bit of time without saying anything. Then someone else came over and started doing my pedicure. The second woman seemed to do a better job with my toes. But again was not very communicative and only told me to go to the dryers, didn't carry anything, didn't come over to make sure the dryer was on. It wasn't. I had to turn it on myself. I have to say, I am not a high maintenance client. I go to another place where many of the reviews say how rude the staff is and yes they are but they get the job done. I have no complaints about that place. This place was just really unwelcoming. The staff seemed to be poorly trained. The salon was pretty beat up and just not clean. I had to wait to pay because the young man at the from was struggling to juggle someone trying to make an appointment while I was checking out. I was really surprised at how busy it was but they did seem to treat their regular clients much better. I will not become one as I do not wish to return. Oh and my nail chipped 4 hours after leaving but I am tough on my nails so that may not be their fault.

I have a weird mix of long and short chunks for bangs now. To their credit a senior stylist 'fixed' my bangs-its better than what the original stylist did, but it's still a step below good. I realize I was given to a junior stylist, and it's a learning process, but I think she really needs a senior stylist to take her under their wing and mentor her. I certainly will not be going back.

I thought these behaviors were normal and I lived dreading certain parts of what is supposed to be a relaxing service. Unfortunately I have had this happen at other salons in the area as well. I recently spoke to and received phenomenal service from a professional nail technician who works at a different salon, and she told me that these poor practices are due to laziness and because some salons want to get as many people in and out as they can. Please be aware that this is not ok. Now I know better and will not be back. PS: Once when I asked for the heels of my feet to be scrubbed for callouses, they pulled out A LITERAL LEMON ZESTER TO TAKE THE SKIN OFF MY FEET. Now the changing of the price would be fine if she had a menu somewhere or explained that she would be changing the price because what if I didn't have enough cash??? I can tell that this is an individual who has great craft and skill. The nails she did on me were so beautiful. And she seemed like a nice lady. I would advise that if you go you bring a lot of cash and singles in case she changes the price on you and to go in with bare nails ONLY. She will ruin your natural nails.
