I use them to do my kitchen floor with vinyl wood planks. I had to get 269 sq. ft. of product due to packaging. Total sq. footage of room was 234 sq. ft. with a 6% waste factor bringing it to 248. However, when all was said and done, the installer didn't leave me any leftovers. When I called to pay my balance I informed my salesman Jack of the fact. That was back the end of November. He said he would contact the installer that day and get back to me. I have called twice and no return call. Not impressed with store. I should have close to 20 sq. ft. of product. read more

My husband and I were looking for a certain color gray hardwood. We were open to manufactured options as well. From the moment we walked into Perfect Floors (Rochester Hills) we knew this would be a great experience. First and foremost, doesn't matter what you're looking for. Perfect Floors has THE BEST flooring selection with the BEST prices in the area! They also recently expanded into their warehouse and offer tons more...probably hundreds more options. The sales lady was very knowledgeable, very personable and very helpful! She gave us many details on a newer manufactured flooring option (I believe it was Cortec) it is a hot selling floor right now. We decided to go with that because it was the perfect color we were looking for...not to mention the BEST price after looking at five other stores. They came out 1.5 weeks later to install the flooring. It was one guy who was pleasant and did the job all by himself - kept us informed and updated along the way. For 151 square feet, took him approximately 6 hours to rip out carpet and install this flooring in a bedroom. We were FLOORED with the results! The flooring looks incredible in the room and we were very happy with the quality of the installation work. Am looking forward to replacing other flooring in my home so I can go back to Perfect Floors! read more

I think they did a wonderful job. Bryan Buckner, our salesperson, was pleasant to deal with - clear communication every step of the way - from picking out materials, cost estimates, setting appointments, and following up. We had our kitchen linoleum and great room carpet removed and replaced with hardwood, which took 4 days to complete. We also replaced the carpet on one flight of stairs, as it was torn up/detached - that only took half a day to complete. John was extremely accommodating. Free of charge, he offered to move up the kitchen cabinets above the fridge a couple of inches to allow room for the added height of the hardwood floor and now the cabinet doors open all the way too (they didn't before, due to obstruction from the fridge door hinges)! He also had good communication during the job. He made sure to tell me about issues or concerns he had along the way and gave me solution choices on what I preferred before he went ahead with it. In one instance of note, I gave the go-ahead to install the hardwood around our existing fireplace tile without t-molding (otherwise we'd have to order more wood), meaning he would have to spend extra attention to cut the wood so it would meet flush with the tile. He did exactly that. That night, my husband expressed that he preferred t-molding there so I called Bryan the next day to ask if it's possible to add t-molding around that tile area after-the-fact. After consulting with John, Bryan let me know that not only will John order more wood and come back to make that happen, but it was free of charge too. Also notable: we own a baby grand piano in the living room. Perfect Floors said they don't move those due to liability reasons, understandably. However, John offered to move it for us. He said he was afraid that if we move the piano ourselves that we'd damage the wood, and he was right. I watched as the guys painstakingly repositioned plywood, plank by plank, beneath the piano to move it and position it exactly where I wanted. Beautiful hardwood remained intact. I greatly appreciated that. Our floors were done in early April. It's now mid-July and I still love it. We often get compliments from visiting friends and family. Now it's just a matter of trying to prevent our toddler from destroying the floors TOO much... and I guess we can never have dogs/cats in the house... we'll see how long that lasts! In conclusion, I definitely recommend Perfect Floors and would do business with them again. read more

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! Horrible customer service alll the good reviews are fake because no way anyone has had a good experience with this company. We did a complete new construction home with them and they screwed up completely they know absolutely no knowledge what's so ever with floors. I've asked for multiple call backs from the owner and sales person but they will refuse to transfer me and make up multiple excuses within 3 hours calling back 3-5 times. THEY'RE SOOO RUDE they will not care nor take any responsibility for any damages to the floors and will refuse to fix them so just beware!!! I had to bring out a floor inspection just to prove to them all the imperfections THAT THEY CLEARLY CANT SEE OR JUST DENY IT!!!! And of course the results came back and he said this is horrible work and they shouldn't even be in business i have all the reports stating this and plenty of photos from a floor expert/ floor inspection company that i had to pay out of pocket just to prove to them how wrong they are!!!! I am a local business Davis Legacy Enterprises, LLC and my mother had paid for $2,000.00 dollar floor to be installed. It was installed and approximately a week later the whole floor has lifted and contacted the makers of the floor which was Armstrong and they advised Tom and Paul the owners of Perfect Floors to come out and use the special glue that Armstrong sent to them for correction of whole floor lifting and looks awful. Now we my mother has been dealing with this for at least 4 months and never corrected the issue even though the payment has been paid. Today she was told that they were coming to FINALLY complete the job correctly and instead she was met with one person being sent with no supplies and on top of that they knew that it was two people who installed it originally and so it will probably would require two people to complete the job correctly but no instead one person was sent and with no solutions again.... Now we are waiting to see if the next visit is the one that finally completes the business with this horrible company. South Lyon, MI office this is happening. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! read more

They aren't really interested in selling anything. Don't really know what they are all about. We originally tried to use their advertised " shop at home" service. Nobody called us back for 3 days so we went to the store. Wandered around an empty store for about 10 minutes before someone asked if they could help us. The salesperson made a half assed effort to help. I felt like we were wasting their time. Went back a second time for more samples and got the same treatment. We were talking a rather large job so it isn't like we were doing just one room. We found another carpet company to use. The salesperson there gave us more information in 15 minutes than we got at 2 trips to Perfect. So we won't bother you anymore "perfect Floors". read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!@!!! We had Perfect Floors through Costco install our laminate floor on July 27, 2016. The installers rushed the job and we found that they had cracked the pedestal sink in the 1/2 bath during installation. We had to ask them to redo certain boards they laid because they mismatched so much since they were rushing to finish a job that should have taken 2 days. When we complained to Perfect Floors, they did nothing but let the installers know that we had complained. We then had a threatening call from the installers. Over the less than 6 years we have had the floor, the laminate flooring is peeling and not from having water on it. Today we are having new flooring put in and they are finding all kinds of short cuts and shoddy work that the installers from Perfect Floors did, such as cementing to level the floor where the carpet was and not taking up the vinyl flooring in the hallway. Go to Home Depot instead. And this is a doozy, so buckle in. We do now have carpet we really like, it's great quality, but Perfect Floors made this whole process as painful as possible and, frankly, complete hell. TL;DR - The owner's response to all that happened was that once in a while a customer gets put through the ringer and unfortunately that happened to be us. He put most of the blame on the installers that work for him, and said if we'd been more of the squeaky-wheel types, we'd have gotten more attention from Matt in solving the problems. - No one came when they said they would for the entirety of the job. This whole thing was dragged out, and our time wasted repeatedly. - It took numerous, NUMEROUS calls from me and my fiancé to get anyone to show up and do the job we'd paid for. - They floated (cemented) over tile glue creating an uncomfortable lip in the floor. Claimed it was the only way. My BIL had to come and sand it all down level. - Installers punched a small hole in the wall, and left black streaks all over the trim, which was newly painted. No reimbursement for expenses to clean and fix. - A manufacturers defect, and they offered us $200 off (Insulting. Even the manufacturer advised, with disgust, that we counter.) or to replace it. - Installers made it clear they didn't want this job. The good. Our first two experiences with Matt at the store, when picking out approx. $4000 in carpet for our great room and living room, were good. He's a salesman and that shows. He's a multitasker, so he answers calls frequently while you're there, which does come off as unprofessional. That was the extent of the good parts. The bad. As soon as our deposit was made, we were chop liver to these people, ran over and dragged along like rag dolls. They didn't show up to rip up the carpet the day they said they would. A call to the store, no apologies for inconveniences, and they came the next day. This pattern of no show, no call, us having to call happened non-stop. A small portion of our great room was tiled on part of a slab (we paid extra to have them rip it up), and NO ONE could figure out how to get the tile up. The first guy left the job half finished. Then, a handful of phone calls from us trying to figure out what was going on and who was going to finish this finally got another guy out who got the tile up, but left a ton of glue and uneven portions. (Note, Matt was MIA during this. We could not get a hold of him, and he did not return our messages. We talked mainly through the receptionist.) Installers didn't show up to install the carpet the day install was scheduled. More calls to the store revealed OUR INSTALLATION HAD BEEN CANCELED AND NO ONE BOTHERED TO TELL US OR KNEW WHY. Promise to come the next day. Installer shows up, does one room. Awesome. Says WTF to the great room tile/glue area. Says it's not good, it needs to be fixed. Get's Matt on phone, wants him to look at it. Matt comes over, looks at it, says to float it, that nothing else can be done. I tell Matt to tell the installer not to do that, because my fiance and my BIL want to look at it before he does anything more, and they'll be home in a few minutes. Matt leaves. Fiance and BIL come home. Installer has started to float the area I explicitly asked not be. They tell him to stop. He gets upset, says he doesn't want the job, tries to leave. BIL gets all the crap off, glue and all, in 10 minutes with a diamond blade. At this point, it becomes evidently clear that Perfect Floors is interested in easy jobs. They don't want any extra work, and aren't going to do it, even if you pay for it. Installer stays, finishes the carpet, and whaddya know, there's a giant line of black fibers running down the middle of the carpet. Manufacturers defect. After he leaves, we find a hole in the wall and there are scuff marks all over trim. Matt offers us $200 off of $4000 of carpet for the defect, or to replace it. At this point, we've had these people out to our house approx 7+ times for two rooms. They've wasted our time, never bothered to call when they didn't show, have zero explanations for any of the problems, and generally act like it's not their problem. We call the manufacturer to ask about the $200 off. They can't give us info they share with Perfect Floors, but the guy is astonished by what compensation we were offered, and highly advises that we counter. I call the owner because THIS IS RIDICULOUS and insulting. The whole thing. The owner's response is that once in a while a customer gets put through the ringer and unfortunately that happened to be us. He put most of the blame on the installers that work for him, and said if we'd been more of the squeaky-wheel types, we'd have gotten more attention from Matt in solving the problems. We have had Perfect floors install carpet on different occasions. The third time, we had them install carpets in our basement. They screwed up the seam so we had the owner John come out. He even admitted the seam shouldn't have looked the way it does. Totally OBVIOUS that there is a seam. nothing was ever done to correct it because it would only makes things worse. The latest bad customer service issue we have had is we have called at least 5 times to get them to come out and stretch the carpet in the basement and the hall upstairs. We have been told someone would call, then we were told the owner would call, then we were told the owner was out of town. The other times we called, we just never got a call back. The excuse today was that they were SOOOO busy. I advised them that the motto on their website "customers for life" doesn't apply to THIS CUSTOMER. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I just had my hardwoods refinished, and the guys called me with status all the time prior to arrival. They were very responsive, very timely, and surprisingly neat given the volume of sanding required. When I walked in the house after they finished, I was blown away at how great they looked. I had a great experience with this business. I took samples home of ceramic tile and carpet, my order came earlier than promised. The installers came when scheduled, they did the work professionally, answered my questions, cleaned up the job. I asked for and received a rebate on the installation because my floors did not need boards (one benefit of having an older home). I would recommend them for carpet and ceramic tile. read more

We have had Perfect Floors do our flooring three different times as well as we have ordered two area rugs from them. We were happy with the first install and that was basement carpet. We went back when deciding to replace our family room carpet, which was on slab. Really bad installation job and had to have the guy come back because the carpet was wrinkling and was not tacked down properly. Over a period of it being in that room of about four years, anytime our dogs ran through or we got up off the couch or love seat, it literally would wrinkle. We still decided when looking for our carpet for the living room, hall, and one bedroom to go back, just requested a different installer. The crew consisted of the installer and two assistants. After they left and we started moving stuff back in the rooms, I picked up the carpet remnants they had just tossed to one side to find that the seam was VISIBLY noticeable and it looked absolutely awful and they had also just broken off a piece of new trim we had replaced around the coat closet door. Went round and round with our sales guy (who never seems to be there) as well as the manager. Finally it was decided that the installer could come back out and being that it was multi-flecked carpet, they "trimmed some of the darker pieces out. Now I have noticed that the carpet is lifting at the entry from the living room/hall into our kitchen. Never ever again will I purchase any flooring from this store. We replaced the family room carpet with U.S. Floors vinyl looking wood and went through McLeod's in Bloomfield Hills. FABULOUS sales person and installation. read more

Terrible. Tony the sales man, was not helpful at all. He asked if I needed shoe molding, I told him I did not know what that was, I asked him if it was quarter round? He said no, shoe molding, I then asked if it was on the wall, (aka baseboards) and he said yes. I said no I do not need that because the room was finished, just having new floors put in for our baby's room. Installer when he was almost done told me there was no quarter round so you can see the gaps varying from 1/4" all the way up to 5/8" (not so accurate measuring) all the way around the perimeter of the room and closet. I got Tony on the phone and was belittled by him that he had asked me and I had said no after I was very clear I did not know what he meant and I thought he was asking if I needed new baseboards, which I did not. For $1100 you'd think $4-$6 worth of quarter round and some stain would be included, any job without it looks very unfinished. The installers we're a day late, so I had to use two vacation days instead of one, and then it took over a week for them to finally install the quarter round. When the receptionist called to set up the appointment for the quarter round installation I asked what time so I could come home on lunch and avoid a third vacation day. She said she didn't know but would have the installer, or her call me back before she left. 9pm rolled around and no call. Installers showed up unannounced around 9am visibly annoyed they had to come back, slap some quarter round on, leave scrap all over my yard and do not move any furniture back. This was not my first encounter with Perfect Floors, I had them do my great room, dining room, entrance way, and hallway in the same 3/4" 5" wide distressed solid hardwood. That job was around $6200, so were about $7500 into this company in maybe 14 months, and have gotten zero respect. Their attention to detail is slim to none, corner cuts are wide and little scrap pieces fill the voids, the sub floor is visible in the cracks between planks, keep in mind these are tongue and groove planks so they should be snapped together, thus they did not install it correctly. They built up my entrance way sub floor because I had tile before and it was recessed, so they are the ones who installed the sub floor, and should have made sure it was perfectly level to ensure there was no/minimal gap between planks yet where they built the sub floor has the most visible gaps. Dirt, pet hair, cat litter etc. builds up in the cracks and is impossible to get out. The entrance way, where everyone comes in and sees first has the most imperfections. They have their little get out of jail free card on their receipt saying natural wood has variance and gaps are normal, yet I assembled the entire extra box they sold me, saying I would need (extra $$ for them) without a single gap with a simple rubber mallet. The floor it self is absolutely beautiful, I wouldn't change my selection at all, but I would go somewhere else. Perfect floors does not care about you or your house, I am honestly worried about resale of the house with this botched install of my flooring, I have had family and guests tell me it doesn't look like they installed it correctly more than one time. Avoid at all costs, I'd imagine Home Depot or Lowes would do a better job and they're certainly cheaper, I did the price comparison for you already. read more
