If she had even told me when I first returned that she wouldn't be able to get it done, I would have been disappointed. To string me along and then rudely tell me she would not do the work was terrible customer service. She never even said she was sorry. If you want work done in a timely fashion, avoid going to In Stitches.

The women here are kind, but that's about the only good thing I can say. I honestly don't know if they're inexperienced or just have never worked with a Black woman's curves before, but not one, not two, but three of my dresses were completely botched. I also had a top altered and it came back lopsided. After the first round of alterations, the owner tried to gaslight me, saying they had only adjusted the strap for my burgundy dress (which was never the main issue). I initially asked for the sides to be taken in because the bust area was too big, but somehow, that got lost in translation. So I paid AGAIN, for all to be fixed and what I got back was even worse. Everything felt rushed, uneven, and downright sloppy. I bawled my eyes out because these dresses were meant for my birthday trip. The white dress? It was the most horrendous one, imagine the outline of Sarah Baartman on a modern-day garment. That's how distorted the shape was. Even after a third attempt, the seams were still crooked and the dress was unwearable. I'm now left dressless for my trip and out of money. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

Trusting her friendly manner and wishing to accommodate her busy schedule, I left and later found several errors in her sewing. When I asked her if she would please fix them, her formerly-friendly tone quickly went from warm to brittle and unpleasant. She did not stand by her work and I was out $$. It was frustrating and I felt foolish for not insisting on checking the items over before cash was exchanged. (Lesson learned!) My advice: Use her only if you must (ie: if no one else is available) and be sure to thoroughly check her work before you pay her.

I kid you not she called me 5 minutes after I dropped it and asked if I would like Velcro because she thought the zipper was a bad design for this blanket. I said sure why not. 45 minutes later she calls me back all set you can come get it. The price was half of what I thought it might of been (BONUS).I can't think of better service than this. And the Velcro works great
