I was very frustrated with Sue at In Stitches. I brought in a jacket for zipper replacement. She…read moretold me it would take two weeks. Two weeks later I returned and the jacket was not done. She then told me to return in 3 business days. I returned in 4 and the jacket still wasn't done. I appreciate she was busy but if she had told me that when I first came, it would have been fine and I would have just found someone else to do the job. If she had even told me when I first returned that she wouldn't be able to get it done, I would have been disappointed. To string me along and then rudely tell me she would not do the work was terrible customer service. She never even said she was sorry. If you want work done in a timely fashion, avoid going to In Stitches.

I was in need of a rush alteration to my wedding dress as I found that I had lost too much weight…read moreafter my initial alterations were done and the hips didn't fit well anymore. The original location who did the alterations wouldn't take the job as (1) it's the week before Thanksgiving and (2) I needed it by Nov 28th. I called Alterations Plus Wednesday evening 20 minutes before they closed, spoke with Jay (the owner), and he told me if I came in at 8AM the next morning, they could get it done. AND THANK GOD I WENT WITH THEM! Maria, their bridal seamstress, was just amazing. She saw exactly what needed to be done and got it fixed in 24 hours! My dress fits better than I did after the first alterations. Despite this entire experience beginning with complete panic, Jay, Maria, and Megan put my mind at ease. I cannot say this enough, thank you thank you thank you! I highly recommend this place.

Absolutely terrible experience! We were referred to this alteration place by another tailor who was…read morebooked up due to prom season. The women here are kind, but that's about the only good thing I can say. I honestly don't know if they're inexperienced or just have never worked with a Black woman's curves before, but not one, not two, but three of my dresses were completely botched. I also had a top altered and it came back lopsided. After the first round of alterations, the owner tried to gaslight me, saying they had only adjusted the strap for my burgundy dress (which was never the main issue). I initially asked for the sides to be taken in because the bust area was too big, but somehow, that got lost in translation. So I paid AGAIN, for all to be fixed and what I got back was even worse. Everything felt rushed, uneven, and downright sloppy. I bawled my eyes out because these dresses were meant for my birthday trip. The white dress? It was the most horrendous one, imagine the outline of Sarah Baartman on a modern-day garment. That's how distorted the shape was. Even after a third attempt, the seams were still crooked and the dress was unwearable. I'm now left dressless for my trip and out of money. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

Buyer Beware: Louise did only a fair-to-middling job for me. Upon completion, she requested payment…read morebefore I had seen the work up close and when I told her as much she said she was on her way out and had somewhere she had to be but, not to worry, if anything was wrong, she would make it right. Trusting her friendly manner and wishing to accommodate her busy schedule, I left and later found several errors in her sewing. When I asked her if she would please fix them, her formerly-friendly tone quickly went from warm to brittle and unpleasant. She did not stand by her work and I was out $$. It was frustrating and I felt foolish for not insisting on checking the items over before cash was exchanged. (Lesson learned!) My advice: Use her only if you must (ie: if no one else is available) and be sure to thoroughly check her work before you pay her.

I said sure why not. 45 minutes later she calls me back all set you can come get it. The price was half of what I thought it might of been (BONUS).I can't think of better service than this. Wow, I am so thrilled to have found Tianna and Jeannette from And Sew On…read more I recently moved to the Cape from Los Angeles, and I was a bit nervous I wouldn't be able to find a great tailor. I bought a dress for my daughter's wedding, and I wanted it to fit perfectly. The dress was almost there but Tianna and Jeannette made it fit perfectly. They both are so experienced and have excellent eyes. When I tried my dress on after the adjustments, I thought it looked great. Jeannette came over and loosened the straps ever so slightly so the dress fell on my hips better and it made such a difference. I thought I had a good eye but And Sew On is the real deal. Thank you Jeannette and Tianna for helping this mother of the bride-to-be feel simply beautiful in her dress.
