Mario and his crew (Valentino and Mario's son, Ron), do exceptional work. On top of that they are good, hard working, honest people. I can't say enough about these guys and this auto body shop. In the auto business, you really don't know who to trust, but Mario is the most stand-up honest person I have ever encountered in 40+ years of having cars serviced. And he does amazing work. I had previously had him do some dent removals and painting on my 2012 Honda Pitot at the recommendation of my neighbor, Brad B. Brad and I first heard about Mario and Perfect Auto Body from Mario's son, Mario Jr. who works at the local Costco in Hawthorne. Brad had had a good experience with some work on his Acura MDX so I trusted Mario and Ron with my Honda Pilot. I also recently sent a guy (whose bumper I accidentally dinged while in line for gas at local Costco) to Perfect Auto Body and Mario beat the price of this guy's regular body shop. But the icing on the cake that has prompted me to write this review was an experience I had recently with my prize car, my 2002 Silver BMW M3 Convertible. About a month ago, I inadvertently backed my car into a hidden (blind spot) telephone pole that was extending into a parking spot. It caused some significant damage to my bumper and my right rear fender, so I brought my baby into Mario. He quoted me a fair price for the bumper and fender repair and since I was about to go away on a 2 week vacation and my hood needed repainting, I asked him for a quote to repaint the hod and blend the fenders to ensure the repainted hood matched the rest of the car. He quoted me a price that I could afford and he said he would hold my car while I was gone on vacation. When I got back, my eyes almost popped out of my head. The rear bumper and fender looked good as new. The repainted hood looked amazing. But on top of all of that, Mario did a bunch of extra work -- at no charge! -- to make my almost-23-year-old M3 Convertible look like it did the day I drove it off the showroom floor on 12/31/01. You see, the rear view mirrors on both sides of my car had seen better days. After racing around the LA Freeways at high speeds, the paint on the exterior of the mirrors had become weathered and was staring to peel off. Worse yet, because I live a block from the beach with all that salt air, the base of the driver's side mirror had become severely corroded (I wish I had taken a "before" photo) and looked awful. As a surprise, Mario repainted both mirrors and removed all of the corrosion on the base of the driver side mirror and repainted that as well. I honestly don't know how he did that and I have no idea what it would have cost for those repairs had I asked for a quote, but Mario did it for free out of the goodness of his heart because he is a master at what he does (and I think he wants people to marvel at his craftmanship because he is so good at what he does). His work and his customer service is second-to-none. I cannot recommend him more highly, and he is such a good man and family man. Bravo!! read more

I had just had my two-tone F250 painted by MAACO (on the recommendation of two friends - we're no longer friends); MAACO DID A HORRIBLE JOB and Mario kindly consented to attempt repairs even though the color WAS NOT A MATCH FOR THE STOCK FORD PAINT (and Ron did not think it was salvageable). In addition to performing a very good repair of the paint job, MARIO cleaned-up Maaco's lousy body work and provided a texturing to my secondary (lower) paint color using bed-liner material which really came out excellent, looks really cool and is completely impervious to scratching! I wish I had known of PERFECT AUTO BODY before wasting nearly $4k with AMATEUR MAACO but that's the price I paid for an education... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MARIO and RON for a TOP QUALITY job and I intend to bring them more work in the months ahead!! read more

The wife had a minor bumper dent on the truck. These guys stopped what they were working on to help me get it fixed. For one dent they took the bumper off and banged out the dent. Then they took it upon themselves to paint the entire bumper. And didn't charge me extra. They will continue to have my business. I'll be back. Hopefully not with dents. read more

Ron is a great guy and his shop does great work. His pricing is more than competitive and the entire shop is very courteous and friendly. I brough in my car for some out of pocket body work and Ron was very helpful, helped with pricing and went above and beyond. Highly recommend the shop. The quality is excellent and they even included some additional minor painting and touchup work for free. Overall great and very friendly shop. I have used these guys several times now. This last time they fully rebuilt the front end of my '72 Buick Skylark convertible after someone ran into me. It took almost 4 months because they were going to replace the parts if they could and were committed to using only original pieces. Since there were none on the market, they reshaped they bumper and front panels of the car. It looks even better than before the accident! They did such a great job. It was a ton of work for them. Mario and his son Ron are fabulous. They worked with me to make sure I got the best value for the car repairs, keeping in mind that it is a family heirloom. Ron was excellent about explaining the whole process to me and helped me to deal with insurance also. No fete seemed to big for these guys, they kept their cool in every conversation and focused on the fact that they would create excellent results no matter what- and they did! I really loved working with them. Will definitely use them again in the future when I need more work on my car. read more

My husband's 2000 Ford Excursion was rear-ended by someone going in excess of 40 mph and his vehicle sustained substantial damage. Estimates from body shops associated with insurance companies were sky-high and the at-fault party carried relatively minimal property damage coverage. A friend recommended Perfect Auto Body and said they always treat her so well that she regularly brings them homemade cookies. (Really.) We checked out other reviews and decided to bring in our vehicle. So glad we did! This is not a fancy shop, but they do great work for an extremely reasonable price. Mario (the owner) and his son, Ron, were a godsend. Ethical, diligent and always pleasant. I hope we don't have to deal with another accident any time soon, but at least we now know where to bring our vehicle(s) for repairs. Definitely the best in the business. Took my 2014 mustang for rear collision damage and it looks brand new. Since it was such good work I ended up doing the front number as well. I usually see expensive classic cars there, but now that I see the talent they have at all makes an models this will be my permanent shop from now on. read more

2020 Update: After re-assembling my car, I found several interest things that could not be seen from the outside. Mario had straightened the bumper mounting structure, inside the front of the car, so that the alignment of the bumper was correct. It had been misaligned from an accident ever since I had it. He also replaced the front pan where the battery tends to eat through the steel. The detail of refining things that will never be seen is the sign of a true craftsman. I had the opposite experience of the person who gave the negative review, although I understand their unhappiness. read more

I brought my vehicle into this shop as they were in my neighborhood, and I wanted to support someone local. The owner was very friendly and courteous, and gave me an extremely reasonable price to address the rust issues on my mini-van. In order to complete the body work, the rear liftgate needed to be removed. Unfortunately, after the work was completed, the liftgate was totally out of alignment and wouldn't close properly. I left the van an extra day allowing them time to correct the issue...which they were unable to do. I was told that the issue was related to a quarter panel being out of alignment, from a repair completed 15+ years ago, and that this must have been the way things were when I brought it in (the liftgate being out of alignment). The shop then said that since they had already spent so much time on the job, and had only charged me X dollars, that the alignment issue wasn't their responsibility. Bottom line, I had to leave with the liftgate sitting crooked and not closing properly! I took the vehicle into another local shop, who re-worked the issue, and confirmed that "Perfect Auto Body" screwed up the work they did, which caused the mis-alignment. Bottom line, the owner is a nice guy, but unfortunately the small job that I had was over their heads, and they had no idea how to correct the problem that they themselves created. read more

I would not recommend Perfect Auto Body. I took my Mercedes Benz A200 there today to be repaired. I waited outside reception for about ten minutes. Some five personnel came out with their trendy sun glasses. All steadfastly ignoring me. I am a woman of a certain age and I found it discourteous that not one of them said good morning. Finally the general manager walked past me. He too intent on ignoring me so I asked him whether I was invisible or not. His reply was undiplomatic. I asked him if he could help me open a storage compartment under the passenger's seat. He did try then disappeared without telling me he couldn't do it. The receptionist was over familiar. Eventually the customer service person came along. At least he is in the right job and did well. However I remain unimpressed by today's episode and intend tomorrow to recall my car and have it repaired by Vauclause Auto Repairs. read more

This is the ONLY place you should go for body work. I've been there three times (my wife is not a very good driver!). I got an estimate from a AAA approved shop in Redondo Beach. Mario did it for half the cost, AND in half the time. Now you might think that perhaps he cuts corners and doesn't do a first rate job. When he was through each time, I inspected his work looking for at least some flaws. There were none! The car looked just as it did when I bought it! I cannot recommend too highly.
