I worked for this contractor from March 16th, 2020, to June 23rd 2020-- roughly 3 months. And, let…read moreme premise this review with the fact that it pains me to have to write this, because I knew Corey before I came on with the company and always respected and looked up to him as a successful business owner and friend. During my brief employment with him, sadly many things were afoul. First, I was never paid for the hours I actually worked and when I was paid, it was few and far between-- although he stated from the beginning pay was every Friday, this was far from the case. I saw workers come and go. I saw day laborers also come and go and not get paid for the total hours worked. The way he treated his workers regarding pay was highly unethical. As a friend, and as someone with compassion and understanding during the whole Coronavirus debacle, I initially told him I would allow him to catchup and that I knew he was good for the money. Little did I know, Corey would use this to ultimately take advantage of me. While he did pay me occasionally, leaving me enough for groceries and gas, my bills began to pile up and the amount he owed me began to venture closer and closer into the $3500 territory. I finally had enough of being taken advantage of and concluded my employment with him, ending what used to be a good friendship. I can't stress enough how disorganized Urban Organics is. It's obvious he has major issues tending to his bookkeeping, but the jobs were always unorganized. Tools and supplies were always unorganized, often with things missing. Jobs were all heavily delayed because of the major disorganization. And, the morale and smug treatment of his workers was appalling. I've never been barked at so many times for simply asking job related questions that were not clearly conveyed. And, I've never been hung up on by a boss as many times as I have by Corey. He may put on a charming front with the customers, but when it comes to his employees, he's simply downright disrespectful. Buyer beware. He may actually finally deliver the product he tries to sell you, but I'm telling you now, if you hire this man, there's a good chance your project will be delayed for weeks, maybe even months. And, given the fact that he treats his employees like garbage, well... use your own judgement there on whether or not you want someone like that performing work for you. I would never in my life recommend his services to anyone.

Corey taught me the ABC's of gardening from scratch. First he built 3 awesome upper ground boxes for me.. I'm not sure what they're even made out of but they are holding up strong in this crazy Texas weather. He taught me how to prep and turn soil. And for some crazy reason I love tomatoes now.. hated them before I grew them on my own. If you are looking for help on building a quality garden these are your guys. Absolutely wonderful experience.

I second the other person's review here. I was not going to write a review, but when the latest…read moreissue popped up, and I saw the other person's review, I thought I needed to do this to stop other people from making the same mistake. These people are either completely incompetent or dishonest - or both. They claimed experience and ability. I bought their "ah shucks, good ole boy attitude." That was my first mistake. But he way - the names of the people I dealt with were Shelton and Sterling. They took 5 months, I repeat 5 months to finish the job. A neighbor a few houses down had MORE work done than I did and it was finished in 2.5 weeks. And they had the same number of people working! I cannot tell you how many times they said they would show, but always had an excuse that something else came up..or it was weather (which the other landscaping team never had a problem with at the same time!). "Great" Lawn Care did "landscape" work for me and achieved the following: 1. Replaced poor and uneven grass with even worse grass and MORE uneven. Extremely weed filled from day one. My neighbor who had his grass replaced at the same time has few weeds and he did not use weed killer. In other words, I got horrible turf and it was installed in a very lazy cheap way - over the old grass. They did not dig up old grass, put down new soil and sand, roll, then put on new grass; 2. Deceptively tried to use plants that were not on the list I gave them. They claimed the nursery gave them the wrong plants. It became apparent over time that they only knew a few types of common cheap landscaping plants builders use. And, I did not find out crape myrtles were NOT the ones we agreed to after they bloomed this spring; 3. They transplanted two Japanese Blueberry, both died; 4. They screwed up lighting system multiple times; 5. They got stones and dirt in pool (saying that would NEVER happen) causing the destruction of a $800 filter pump; 6. They failed 4 times to properly cement masonry steps and it only worked when I found out they were using Liquid Nails instead of masonry cement (despite telling me they were using masonry cement). 7. All lantana and Texas sage they planted in my front yard died. I bought new and planted myself and they are doing fine.; 8. I asked 4 times for them to fix how sprinklers were spraying. Each time I found very little had been done. I don't think you need to be that educated to know that an area with cactus should not get watered, and an area with grass should! 9. I asked multiple times that they should bury exposed lighting lines. I ended up doing it myself and I am still finding some. 10. They have not given the key to my yard back so I had to have it rekeyed. Believe it it or not, there were may more problems, but you get the idea...don't use these guys!

one star is too much for these folks. Just not professionals. Used them to support small business…read moreand startup entrepreneurs. Big mistake. Their quality is below par. They did some pavements for me, totally uneven, with in a month started falling apart, on top of it screwed up the sprinkler lines, totally spoiled the lawn, its a total mess. If you guys have a beautiful lawn, backyard, and wont mind to give it to them to experiment and improve on their skills (i doubt it if they can improve) and pay for that, then hire these guys. They will do pretty good in that. Watch Out ! after the work, they dont even bother to pick up the phone and just run off..On top of it, I paid but never got a proper invoice.
