Had a long drain line that was backed up. Tried to use a DIY sewer jet to clear it -- this resulted in a large puddle of water down stream ( see pic) . Water seeping out ?! So I opened up a Yelp project for sprinklers. For anyone who hasn't used this feature, I highly recommend trying it out and opting in to receive texts the next time you have a service need; multiple businesses start messaging you, and your phone starts blowing up like you're the most popular kid in high school. Emmanuel is the owner of Meme Landscaping. He was one of two businesses that were available this morning, and he's the owner himself. Between supporting a local business (with technicians) and a small local business (sole technician!), I went with the latter, and he arrived at 8am on the dot. Awesome first impression in addition to being punctual - you know when you see a kind soul. He went to the garage and looked at the control box. Turns out that the "issue" was just the system not having been set properly: the date and time were all off, probably due to the recent rain and lightning. He reset the current time and watering time - and voila, Zone 1 started showering the grass like nobody's business. Facepalm for me. Since he was there, he assessed all the sprinklers by zone. One sprinkler head was leaking and another had too big of a nozzle, so I opted to replace those. Feel free to do your research but I do mine, and the price was reasonable. The whole thing from assessment to replacement took 30 minutes. I paid via Zelle and he's going to send me the invoice by email for my records.
