I wish I could do a 3.5 rating. The business is on and poppin'. The parking lot was crazy and crowded the whole time we were there. My daughter and I were the only non Latin people there. I realized quickly I was probably going to need to dig deep for my South Florida Spanglish. Thankfully I remember the verbs and words to get me what I wanted. All my hair appointments in Miami paid off. We ordered four beef empanadas. The menu does say there's potatoes in them, but the issue was more there was barely any meat and mostly potato. It wasn't quite what we were expecting. The actual empanada had a pretty thick crust as well which was different. We also got 2 pastillitos with guava, and two with guava and cheese. Those are money!!! We will absolutely be back for those. You can order online, and if you can't speak any kind of Spanish or speak very little I suggest ordering that way. I will probably do that myself next time. The lady who helped me was kind by not making me feel even more insecure over my basic Spanish speaking. Very much appreciated. read more

I'm going to preface this by saying this hurts my heart to rate this place as low as I am. I am a Taylors native and I love supporting local and small businesses especially those that are like mom and pops or hole in wall type establishments. This is the vibe that I got every time I drive by this place. I wanted to like them so much especially since I see them packed in the mornings all the time. First off this place is a bakery as well as a small restaurant so they have more than just sweets. Colombian food interests me so we decided to come here for lunch one day. I got the Bandeja Paisa. Included was a thin piece of skirt steak, strip of pork chicharone (which was pretty hard), bowl of beans, fried egg on white rice, fried sweet plantains and a chorizo. The fried egg and chorizo were my favorite parts but those are hard to mess up. The rice was a little soggy or too moist, the skirt steak was pretty dry and like I alluded to earlier the chicharone was hard and hurt my teeth as I was eating it. The plantains weren't bad. Tbh I wouldn't order this menu item again. They got my gf's order wrong even though we told them a few times what she wanted to be sure it'd be right. I was so excited when we ordered but my excitement was shot down with every bite I took. My jaw and mouth were getting tired with every bite bc the steak was so dry and chewy and the chicharone was so hard. And getting my gf's order incorrect after clarification saddened me too. I also found a hair in our fries that was not my own nor my gf's. We didn't make a scene or bring it up to them bc at that point we just wanted to finish whatever was left on our plates that we wanted to eat and leave. Though this experience was bad I still want to come back one day and try their bakery items. I'm really hoping that their empanadas are amazing and make up for this visit we had. Only went for the tequeños, those were good in size, taste, and so fresh. Bumping a star off because of their lack of choices in sauces. The green cilantro sauce is a South American staple dipping sauce so it was disappointing to see that they didn't offer that. I've also had the pan de Bono, which is essentially cheese bread as well. Wow, just wow. I've lived in Taylors SC for 23 years now and I've ridden by Pareira Bakery on countless occasions. But I never stopped in until yesterday. One of the reasons that I likely passed by this place is that it is ostensibly a Hispanic joint, with Spanish language on the signs and windows. Due to my own ignorance - and with profound apologies to my Hispanic friends - I simply presumed that I might not feel comfortable. Yeah, I know, that's narrow-minded and just plain wrong. There, I said it. And I also thought it was just a store with a bakery, which it is. I just didn't realize that they also served up a full menu of truly incredible Columbian food. But on Sunday I happened to be riding by during the lunch hour and saw a sea of cars. They were literally parking on the road to get in this place. That *really* got my attention so I decided to stop by yesterday. Sure enough, I was the only non-Hispanic fella in the whole place. But the folks there made me feel very welcome. I was also overwhelmed with the beautiful pastries on display (check my pics). The place is neat and clean, too, with ample seating. But it's that intoxicating aroma of fresh baked goodies wafting throughout the place that demands your attention. Since it was about 3pm and they were in between lunch and dinner, I just ordered some empanadas and some cheese bread. They were the best I've ever had, anywhere in the upstate. So I went back to the counter and tried a pastry. Same result. And I went back again and tried things I couldn't even pronounce. Ditto. I ate until I was beyond stuffed and my face hurt from smiling because my belly was so happy. When I stepped to the counter to pay I actually apologized to the owners for not coming in sooner. She was so taken aback by my honesty that she gave me two free cookies, which I had to save for later (hello, late night snack!). She then told me they were going to celebrate their 10-year anniversary in June (wow again). But I sure as shootin' won't wait that long to go back, and you shouldn't either. I have been looking for a great bakery for a while now, and this place fits the bill and then some. Not only are they a bakery, but they are also a small restaurant serving up homemade authentic Colombian dishes. The Bandeja paisa was huge and so delicious! Beans, rice, chicharron, carne asada, chorizo, a fried egg, and plantains! The arepa con queso was also very good. After dinner, we picked up some cookies to go that we were planning on saving for later, but they were so delicious that we ate them in the car! I definitely want to stop by for breakfast sometime, and I plan on picking up some bread, too. read more

Is fried food with a touch of Hispanic flavor. Expensive for what you thought it was, but it is not. Sad that there are no details on how the food is made. The normal supermarket prices are high but thats there for our convenience. This store is mainly the best because of their bakery items, which I'm a huge fan of. Love it love it read more

I still love this place! It should have more reviews. Last year we moved an hour and a half away but every time we come to visit Greenville I try to come here! Although the sign says this is a bakery, it is also a (very) small restaurant that serves traditional Columbian dishes. Here you can find those little savory empanadas. Also, they offer other classics like bandeja paisa, which is just gargantuan--rice, beans, skirt steak, flat bread, fried plantains, fried pork rind, and fried eggs. The glass counter is loaded with great-looking pastries. I had the guava and cream cheese-filled sweet empanada, which was pretty tasty. The lady who waited on me was very nice. They speak English as well as Spanish, so language is not a barrier to enjoying a good meal here. The parking lot in front is kind of small; you may end up parking in the grass. read more

1 star is left for service. As colombians we value service first of all. Their food is very good but they have the worst service i have experience ever in a colombian place. They are just not pleasent. I drive 2 hours to go to Greenville to eat colombian food and get other things at this place spending an average of 60 dollars. I bought an arequipe 2 months ago and it was found to be tampered when i got home. I tried to called two days in a row and no one ever answer. Today i went to the bakery and i told the lady about it and her reply with a tone of i dont care and not even looking at me was: really...maybe whomever was here was running errands. She said the products are in the shelves and customers do that...well....im not sure what the health dept would think about that. When i finished paying today i said thank you and this lady totally ignored me... i had to tell her again and she finally answered without looking at me..dont know what the deal is but the owner should know about it. read more
