Dempsey's Brewery and Pubs nails that authentic Irish atmosphere so well, you half-expect a…read moreleprechaun to pinch your pint while you're not looking. The warm wooden digs and lively vibe make it a proper escape in Watertown, SD, though the only drawback is the constant buzz of chatter drowning out what should be some good ol' Dropkick Murphys tunes. I was particularly impressed by the great pastrami on homemade rye--tender, tangy meat stacked high on fresh-baked bread that could make even a New Yorker do a happy jig. Their bartenders are absolute gems, slinging drinks and banter with the charm of seasoned storytellers who somehow remember your name after one visit. One quirky touch is how the floors creak underfoot, like they're gossiping about all the pints spilled before you. Strangely enough, the soup of the day was tequila, a boozy curveball that had the whole place toasting with confused delight and empty bowls. The house brews hold their own, pairing like old friends with the hearty grub. All in all, Dempsey's is a witty, wonderful Watertown, SD gem.

No. They served it in a god forsaken 16oz fountain drink glass... wth!! Never in my life! I had an issue with the mix to whiskey ratio... because it is all sugar. They gave me a replacement, and it was still off and weak. I would recommend this place if you are already drinking, or you don't care about how people serve drinks. Dagwood's was the lunch provider and I ordered a wrap on the first day, not knowing what I would get. I received a sandwich that far exceeded any sandwich I have had from other lunch providers anywhere in this Country! It was fresh, the ingredients were plentiful and it tasted delicious! The first one was toasted and the next one I did not get toasted, but it was just as good either way. I tried others and my Son had different ones during the week and we both felt these were fantastic! We will be returning for other classes and we hope to be eating more of the delicious sandwiches at Dagwood's Subs!

The building has a modern steel exterior and a modern hunting cabin like interior with a concrete floor (see pictures). Service was prompt and there was a reasonable selection on the buffet line (scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs with veggies and cheese, bacon, sausages, potatoes, biscuits & gravy, pancakes and french toast sticks). The scrambled eggs were very good and the potatoes were good, but they were out after we went through and were not replenished. The sausages were plentiful and the bacon was thick, hearty and smokey. Overall, this was a solid, above average buffet with good service at a good value ($12.99 + coffee / beverage). Other than a desire that they be a bit more attentive to the quantity of food in the pans and replenishing as required, my main disappointment was that black plastic forks were the only eating utensils available. Given the available foods, metal knives wouldn't be necessary - but having metal forks would be appreciated. If you found this review helpful, please show your appreciation with a Like or a Follow.
