We spent a week working in Watertown. The Company there provided lunches for all the crew during the week. Dagwood's was the lunch provider and I ordered a wrap on the first day, not knowing what I would get. I received a sandwich that far exceeded any sandwich I have had from other lunch providers anywhere in this Country! It was fresh, the ingredients were plentiful and it tasted delicious! The first one was toasted and the next one I did not get toasted, but it was just as good either way. I tried others and my Son had different ones during the week and we both felt these were fantastic! We will be returning for other classes and we hope to be eating more of the delicious sandwiches at Dagwood's Subs! read more

Was like a salt lick no sauces. And by the time I was able to eat my food it was soggy. I got the Rueben.

Best subs in town for sure! Also have good wraps and a few other dishes. Really good sizes too.

Time to catch up on my reviews from yesterday and today. Stopped here for a quick bite to eat. They have cards that you fill out what you want, name, etc. to speed up the ordering process. There was only one or two people ahead of me but by the time I left, the line was almost out the door so obviously this place is Betty l very popular. Pretty darn good sub! Everything was fresh and tasty. Service was quick and efficient. You order everything by marking what you want on a color coded menu card, hand it over to the cashier, they run through your order to make sure you didn't miss anything or clarify anything they are not sure about and then they give you a number and you go pick your table. A few minutes later your freshly made to order food arrives! Portions were reasonable size and prices were fair. Would certainly eat here again if in the area. read more

I wouldn't give a five star review unless I was sure they deserved it. This place does. I have never had anything bad here. The owner is typically on site assisting at the register. She makes sure the food prepared is of excellent quality before it is presented. My favorite is the Cheesy Steak. Write that you want it toasted instead of microwaved. Background: I am in town once a month to visit my grandma and I pick up a sub at Dagwood's every visit. I'd say that I have been there 20+ times. Setup: Casual, customers fill out order sheets and hand to cashier. You can sit down and they will bring it to your table or take it to go. They have 20 oz pops and chips available as well as a menu including sandwiches, subs, wraps, salads, tacos and more. I always find the restaurant to be very clean. Food: I always order the same thing so I can only comment on the subs. The subs rock! Their vegetables are extra fresh and very thinly sliced. The bread is soft and tasty. My mom ordered a hot sandwich on one occasion and didn't enjoy it because it wasn't toasted, it was only warm. They don't have a flat top so it is hard to create a toasty sandwich. I also had the nachos once, they are nothing special so I'd skip those (basic chips and that mystery cheese sauce!). Service: I disagree with the previous reviewer regarding their service. Last time, they mistakenly put mayo on my sandwich and I didn't realize it until I opened it at my grandma's house. I returned, they apologized for their mistake and remade my sandwich with no problem and gave me a dessert bar for my troubles. Watertown lacks a lot of good food options and this is a bright spot. It is worth the trip off I-29 if you are just passing through. I only wish it was closer so I could patronize it more often. read more

Truly horrible. Incomprehensible menu sheets for everything, subs, sides, drinks etc all on separate sheets that you have to fill out to order. After that I got a Philly sandwich with almost no meat and cheese, and for some reason they heated it with lettuce on it. The parking lot is also an accident waiting to happen. You would be far better off at Jimmy John's, Subway or even McDonalds. If "0" was a rating that's what I would have rated them. read more

They have so much bread and so little meat on their sandwiches. I understand your are getting a cold meat sandwich, but they put as much meat on your loaf of bread as you would put on a slice of bread in your kitchen. I'm not a fan. Delicious! Great service. Both my mom and I were impressed with the food quality ( tried a sandwich and flat bread).

They have good food and the worst service in town. We drive off of I-29 to go to them. I ordered a chef salad. I explained to the cashier I wanted it tossed. I got it and it was not tossed. I asked the server to toss it and she got the owner who asked me how she was suppose to toss it. We left. Never going back. Try Jimmy Johns. Much faster and friendly. read more

I love Dagwoods. The food is excellent! It's the only place I go for sandwiches. My daughter is a pucky ester and normally only eats French fries if we decide to grab a quick bite but at Dagwoods, she'll actually eat a meal. My only complaint is some of the staff is a bit stand-offish. Not the older people, I love them. They seem to truly love the place but the kids act like we've just interrupted something important and asking them to DO THEY'RE JOB is too much to ask. Quite rude to be honest. Try going in when the owners are working. Other than that, nothing will keep me away from those subs. read more

I love this place. TONS of options! Great Bread! Yummy! My only complaint is that they use a microwave for the "hot" subs. They should use a toaster unit or a grill. I don't ever get the "hot" subs for this reason. I LOVE there cold subs! read more
