Recommended by locals as the best Chinese place. Currently (covid world 2020) the Chinese Wok is only open for takeout. Every dish was prepared fresh. Each dish we ordered was delicious. It was hard to imagine how any the dishes could have been improved. I now understand why everyone spoke so highly of it. Even the white rice tasted like it just been cooked, and it was cooked to perfection. I know that any time we are in Watertown we will order from here again! read more

This is some of the most delicious , fresh Chinese food to be found! I ordered, via takeout, homemade shrimp egg rolls, hot and sour soup and shrimp Kung pao. All were excellent! The eggroll crunchy with little shrimp and veggies. The soup very good with not an overwhelming amount of beef flavor in the broth but perfectly balanced with the sweet and vinegar. Oodles of fresh veggies and delicately cooked shrimp in the Kung Pao. I brought egg foo yung home for breakfast and was not disappointed even heated the next day. The eggs were crispy, the veggies delicious and the sauce that was served on the side, a nice delicate topping. A definite top of my list place. Authentic flavors! I wish I can eat the whole dam menu to try and let y'all know but you know it's not an all you can eat situation with my broke ass. With that said the prices are good to me. I ordered the beef with garlic sauce and my lord it sang to me. It's on the sweet side but definitely savory. Go in sit down enjoy the Chinese songs they play and enjoy the siracha sauce! They have a sturdy to go container too with a lid! They don't offer plain water so you have to buy the bottle FYI. Food so good I tipped her for it. I really wanted a good experience but ended up fair. The egg roll was only slightly larger than the sweet and sour sauce packet, though it was hot and crisp there was very little inside. Not worth the $1.60, a full size egg roll would be but not this bite size version. Sweet and sour chicken served deconstructed which is nice so the batter doesn't get too soggy. There was a wide size range in chicken pieces so some were overcooked and some the batter too heavy. Several of the chicken pieces had hard parts still attached probably cartilage. Also only chicken, no pineapple, green pepper or tomato which is pretty standard in SS chicken. Lastly no hot tea, only bottled drinks including water. I might try again but no egg rolls. Just a note to the owners, the walls are getting beat up by the chairs and tables. Install a chair rail it would look much better. read more

Been here a couple of times and weren't disappointed. The fried rice was very different and didn't really care for that but everything else was great. Really enjoyed the dumplings which we refer to as pot stickers or Gyoza. I think the lo mein and the general Tao's shrimp was the best. The best choice for Chinese takeout in town. We always order to-go. The wait time is usually about 20-40 minutes, but that's because the food is cooked to order. Always fresh, always good. There is something magical about their plain white rice. I can't explain it. It's just white rice, but it's THE BEST white rice I've ever had. Our family favorites are Pork Fried Rice, Honey chicken, and General Tso's chicken. I'm not sure what they do to their cooked broccoli, but my kids end up fighting over it. Broccoli. It's insane. My personal favorite is the Jumbo Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and their Hot & Sour Soup. Also, the shrimp Mei Fun is wonderful and hearty. Price is on point. It's a lot cheaper than taking the family out to a Chinese buffet, and the good quality is so much better. We order using their online ordering (chinawokwatertown.com), which is most convenient. I will usually schedule to have my order ready shortly after I get off work. Works like a charm. Another unforeseen perk of ChinaWok is their takeout dishes. Tupperware quality. I keep them and reuse them. The only thing I've had from them that I don't care for is their egg rolls. They are good, but don't come with sweet & sour, I always forget to ask for it when I get an egg roll. I'd probably like them better with the sauce. read more

Sadly one of those Chinese restaurants where the chicken is very slimy. NOT RECOMMENDED. And the egg roll was undercooked.

Always the best. I am from NY where Chinese restaurants for take out are every couple miles. I have never been able to find anything even remotely close to the NY quality. This place has it. Family owned and operated, they will do it exactly the way you want it. Have been here a dozen times or more and never have been disappointed. Try dining in, they keep a clean place and are polite, and professional. Better than any place in the Midwest I have been to. The wait is never long. They are closed Monday's. read more
