They build little by little so each experience is enjoyable, and the kids want to come back. There's TVs on the ceiling for the kids to watch with headphone on, they have lots of goodies to give the kids when they're done, and they really take their time to include the kids in the process of what they're doing. During covid times, including today 4/22/21, they have taken extensive precautions with masks, cleaning, and spacing, which I truly appreciate having high risk family members. I cannot say enough good things about this office. Thank you for everything.

My first experience with Joy Orthodontics was today. My son's mother has handled his appointments…read morethere prior to today. While she was on vacation, my son let me know that some recent adjustments that they had made had failed. One of the wires was put in wrong and has started cutting the inside of his mouth. And the another one came loose yesterday just from him eating... and it is letting the teeth now shift in that area and causing additional pain (and presumably setting this treatment backwards). So I called this morning. I told them I would be getting him at school at 2:30pm. They said I could call the after hours number (admin girl gave it to me) and they they would come up to the office and meet us for quick adjustments. It's Friday, so we really need this so he's not in pain all weekend. You know where this is going. The "emergency line" is just a voice mail that clearly no one is checking. I have left 3 voice mails and no reply at all. What's the use in an "emergency line" that isn't attended to?

However, peal all that back and you will see the quality and cost of their work is not equal with other offices. I have 2 boys with braces $5k each ,we considered Invisalign for an alternative. They had said it would be the same price $5k or $200 per month for 24 months. I told the I've see ads for $2,000or $48 for 24 months. They justified by saying there was a lab cost which drove the price up. Did some research found they were not truthful in their answers. A dentist office "Smiles" has the same product for $1,800 w/ payment options. I'm taking my third son there to be fitted for Invisalign. They are ripping off hard working people. Please do your research. Dr. Levine is the owner of both locations and you are over paying.

This was a 1.5…read morehour drive each way for us from Gainesville but we heard great things about Dr. Gary from a friend who had her daughter's frenulectomy done here a few years prior. I am grateful we were able to be worked in after I called as I filled out a new patient packet a few weeks prior and then again the day before. I was promised a call back and we were able to go in for a same week appointment as they had a cancellation. Once we arrived, we checked in and filled out the new patient pack and were taken back within 15 mins of our appt time. Dr. Gary was able to explain the procedure to us and aftercare/ what to expect. Topical analgesia was applied and he was swaddled and then the procedure performed in less than 5 minutes with dad and I able to stay in the room which we chose to do. We then went to a room to feed/ nurse after. The practice is very busy so we waited about 45 mins after the procedure to see Dr. Gary again before paying and leaving. I am glad we were able to have the procedure performed while he is still this little. The CO2 laser makes this quick and with very minimal post-op issues at all! Unfortunately, I don't know that I have seen a drastic difference in baby's ability to feed and some of the issues I was concerned about but we are 24 hours after. That is nothing against the procedure or Dr. Gary though! Every baby/ child will have different results. I will also say that of no fault to the practice, they cannot bill major medical so if you do not have dental insurance, you can request a form with appropriate ICD 10 codes to submit your insurance yourself. It was a little over $600 for the evaluation and all 4 ties. If you have questions concerning finances, I'd recommend calling the office as they were very transparent and helped to make that process very easy. We chose to do all 4 that day and cash pay as no dental insurance for our baby yet. I definitely do recommend Dr. Gary And the practice as a whole. Pain control four hours after was difficult so I would recommend Being proactive with medicating. They do give you recommendations for homeopathic options with your discharge planning. One recommendation would be to provide that in an email prior to the appointment so parents could plan ahead to buy those options rather than have to go to the store or wait for online orders. Additionally, Dr. Gary was very informative on educating how to perform exercise/stretching and even offered an appointment for follow up in one week for a recheck if needed. Given that it is a long drive each way and the exercise exercises seems straightforward to me, we will likely not return, but I can see that this would be beneficial for parents with concerns. If your child has a lip, tongue or cheek tie, I would absolutely recommend sooner evaluation and seeing Dr. Gary.

This office refused to verify my dental insurance before my…read morechild's appointment for whatever reason and insisted I pay the full amount out-of-pocket with the promise I'd be reimbursed once they submitted the claim. I trusted them and that was a mistake. On numerous separate occasions, they have verified that they do in fact owe me money and "will figure out a way to reimburse you whether that be in the form of a credit on your account or a written check". Not only was I never reimbursed, but after 2.5 YEARS of follow-up regarding this matter and mentioning it at every single appointment, they are now telling me they're "unable" to refund me at all. This was their mistake, and now I'm stuck paying for something insurance should have covered. It's incredibly frustrating, dishonest, and shows a complete lack of accountability. Parents should not have to fight to get their money back, especially when the error was on the office's part. Be very cautious if you choose to bring your child here, and do not agree to pay out-of-pocket unless you have proof in writing that you'll be reimbursed.

I wanted a pediatric dentist's perspective, and I'm so glad we came here. SN: Dr. Marinela M. Nemetz runs the pediatric side, her husband runs the adult side. I'm only reviewing the Peds side. Dr. M. Nemetz carefully explained why the frenectomy was needed, but also why she does not recommend using lasers for this procedure on children. She answered all of my questions thoroughly and in a way that made me feel informed and confident in the plan moving forward. What stood out most was how much effort she put into making my daughter feel comfortable. She has such a gentle, kid-friendly way of speaking, and my daughter really liked her (and of course, the treasure box at the end!). The office itself is very child-centered, there are games in the waiting area, an open bay setup with multiple chairs, and TVs at each chair so kids can stay relaxed. Children are even encouraged to go back on their own if they feel comfortable. We've decided to make Dr. M. Nemetz our family's pediatric dentist going forward. If you're looking for a dentist who truly understands kids, takes the time to explain everything clearly, and creates a warm, welcoming environment, I highly recommend Dr. Nemetz.
