Our table ordered a milanesa sandwich, milanesa a caballo, gnocchi with pink sauce, and matambre. The matambre was excellent: well seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. The beef milanesas were also tender, but, in my opinion, they were sliced a little too thin. In the sandwich, the tomato ended up being more noticeable than the meat, and since I was expecting the milanesa to be the star of the dish, I was a little disappointed. That said, the bread was fantastic. The gnocchi were good overall. I really enjoyed the pink sauce, although the pasta itself seemed just a bit overcooked. To finish the meal, we ordered cappuccinos. They were wonderfully creamy, though I personally would have liked the coffee to be a little stronger. The medialunas were excellent--fresh, soft, buttery, and delicious. To top off the night, I took home a box of ham and cheese tea sandwiches (sándwiches de miga). This morning I toasted a couple for breakfast, and honestly, it was the best part of my day so far. Finally, the service... it felt unmistakably Argentinian. Warm, genuine, and welcoming. Thank you for making us feel, even if just for a little while, like we were back home. I loved the candle chandeliers they look great in the space. The two televisions with no signal were not so great. The bar has some great options for drinks I noticed a cachaça or two. It took a moment to get our server's attention and to get our check but in fairness she was busy with another table and was mostly alone due to the early hour that we visited. We started with some amazing fried Empanada Porteña and fried Empanada Tango (we ordered six!) and a delicious Argentinian Sausage. Then came the star of the night: a perfectly cooked Tira de Asado, served with fries and salad. My son went straight for the Milanesa con Papas Fritas a Caballo--a crispy breaded steak topped with two fried eggs, with fries perfect for dipping into the yolk. For dessert, the Panqueque con Dulce de Leche was the perfect sweet ending (though this time, he ate it all by himself!).
