Delicious pizza and friendly staff/comfortable clean place to sit down and eat. I ordered a 14 inch for myself, ate half of the pizza in the restaurant and took the remainder back to my hotel in a small box which fit in the mini fridge and had it for dinner the next night after skiing all day - and I have a big appetite and it filled me up and was savory to the last bite. Next time I stay in Carbondale or nearby I will definitely go back to Peppino's. I wish I had taken a picture to share. Super cute cozy place in downtown Carbondale- This was my very first time visiting this establishment while my friend whom I went with has been here many times. According to him, the ownership has been passed down to the son and he added unique twist to the menu- So many good flavors to choose from. Cashier was super helpful and attentive when I couldn't decide on which pizza to get. Recommendations coming from employees are always nice. Will definitely come back and try their different flavors if I happen to be in Carbondale again :) read more

Normally, I say this is the best pizza place in the valley. I would give it five stars. However, this time the pizza was overcooked and had a bunch of bubbles and the crust was hard and had some negative space in it. I have a little picture here to show you. We are pretty disappointed in this purchase. Normally it's so good, that I don't feel the need to look at the pizza before stepping out and going home. But I should have this time. We were on the road during the fall colors and thought we would grab some pizza at Peppino's. They were busy and I order an 18" 3 meat pizza for my wife and I. Well they brought it to our table and I thought their was a mistake, this pizza looked like a 24" pizza. They said that was right. It was a great pizza and this place is a local place and many of the locals get their pizza here. I would recommend and I would also get my pizza from them again. read more

I lived in both San Francisco and Chicago before I lived in Cdale, so I have really had my fair share of great pizza. Does this mean my pizza review is far superior than all the other reviews? Absolutely. I am the pizza king. Is Peppino's pizza the best ever? That's hard to say. But something about it just makes you want to keep eating. It's tasty, it's not too greasy, it's not too heavy. I have no complaints about their other offerings-- the sandwiches and pastries are all good, and they'll dip your soft serve in chocolate or sprinkles which is always fun. The prices are superb and the staff is lovely. I miss going there just to hang out. read more

AMAZING! Dropped in here for lunch while in town on business. Just was expecting the normal by the slice experience but what I ordered was quite possibly one of the best pieces of pizza I've ever had. Service was good, and we appreciated the fact that they had compostable plastic ware and cups. However, I wasn't impressed with the pizza flavor. I had read reviews that said their deep dish pizza was better, but I ordered gluten free crust and didn't have a choice. The crust tasted good enough, but the sauce seemed very bland, like it needed oregano or maybe garlic. Toppings were okay but didn't add enough flavor in my opinion. Still, the pizza by the slice which my husband had was a very reasonable price. In fact, a lot of families showed up with kids while we were eating, and I suppose that the cost per slice made it affordable for them. Overall, I would rate it slightly above average for what I had but would try a different pizza place next time. read more

My wife and I had lunch at Peppino's in Carbondale while vacationing in the area. This place has the best pizza we have ever had since moving to Colorado 5 years ago. I wish they were closer to Denver! Their location on Main Street is very quaint and relaxing. You can order by the slice and they have a lot of choices readily available. The texture and quality of their ingredients make the pizza very tasty. The owner and staff were fantastic! We brought our dog and sat outside in their courtyard area. When our slices were ready they brought them out to us which was a nice touch. I warned the waitress that our dog might bark at her and she said no problem and was exceptionally friendly to our dog even though she barked. We will be going to Peppino's every time we visit the Carbondale area from now on. I can't say enough good things about this dining establishment. read more

The entire town of Carbondale is a nice find. This cute, little mountain town is way ahead of the curve when it comes to organic foods, recycling, and living green. They've also got some great pizza. From the outside, it looks a bit scary, and it really doesn't improve much one you get inside, but the product they serve is well worth overlooking a few discrepancies. They have a pretty complete menu, but all we had was the pizza, and we loved it. They serve the pizza by the slice, or by the pie. There are a couple of pizzas already cooked and waiting for you at the counter. You can pick the slice you like, have them warm it up in the over, and they'll bring it over to your table when it's done. That's what we did. We found the crust to be exceptional, and we felt it must be fresh-made on the site. It was the New York Style crust, but you can get the thicker crusts if that's what you want. The crust had a good flavor, excellent texture, and just felt good under the toppings. The sauce was perfect. It complemented both the crust and the toppings, and probably would have made a fine pizza with just those two ingredients. The pizzas we ordered were two slices of Margherita, (there's is more tomato than basil), a slice of veggie combo, a slice of mushroom, and a slice of cheese. All were outstanding, and made us happy we chose this place. The staff were all friendly and accommodating, but, on the down side, the place is very small, (there are a couple of tables outside), and they could do a better job of keeping the place clean. This is not the type of place one would go to for a sit down meal with family and friends, but, for a quick meal on the go, it is perfect. read more

I drive from Aspen at least once, sometimes twice, a week to indulge in this magnificent pizza and their subs (side note: thank you for making me ham & cheese subs on your amazing bread... I love you!) I just can't believe a place this good exists in our valley (which I feel doesn't have good food... at all) The grandma slices are to DIE FOR and I didn't want to tell you that because I barely get lucky walking in for a slice of that delicious, savory pie because its always sold out. I'll call ahead next time. Their pizza dough is next level, their pizza slices are perfectly crunchy, saucy and gooey. In all honesty, I was not a pizza eater because I had never had good pizza before. My boyfriend insisted this was the one that would change my mind and I begrudgingly ate it.
