Mediocre, not great. The garlic bread went right into the garbage. There's a barstool right by the register. Don't sit there, because they'll ask to move. I am only in the area part time but this pizza is one of my favorites EVER. They have some pretty good pies like BBQ chicken and white artichoke. So yummy! But can't go wrong with a good ole pepperoni. They are QUICK and have excellent service. Highly recommend! read more

PSA: Cash or check ONLY. Unfortunately, this place did not live up to the other Yelp reviews - Pretty disappointed overall. The service was okay, the guy at the counter wasn't the greatest. I had to ask the wait time of my pizza as he gave short answers to everything I asked and seemed annoyed. The "cheese sticks" are not good, it's literally bread cooked and chopped up with seasoning and cheese melted in it with charred ends (DO NOT RECOMMEND this item). The marinara sauce is sweet and doesn't taste like marinara. The pizza is a hard 5 out of 10, it's decent but it's not the best pizza out there. read more

Rude person serving and cooking, not sure what his issue was. We entered and could tell he was upset but we were hungry so decided to stay. The jerk decided to yell at my dad in front of all the customers for getting some sauce that was on the counter. Great food and good atmosphere. We keep coming back for more. Purchase by the slice (huge) or get a whole pie. Plenty of good toppings to choose from. Also a selection of sandwiches and salads. The beer on tap is always rotating, so there are always some good choices. read more

Pizza is good, wings are only ok. However charging 2$ per wing is criminal for what you get. The wing are not huge (like what you get at Duffs in Buffalo) so why rip off your customers. Shame on you for overcharging on wings. read more

I love the pizza every time I go, it is the best place to get a slice (or a whole pie) in Basalt. The only issue I have had is the fact that they do not answer the phone around 9:30PM. It says they close at 10:00PM, not sure why they would not answer when they still have 30 minutes or more left until close. If they are cleaning up and all of that stuff they should say they are closed at 9 or 9:30 then. read more

I called to order a sandwich and a salad for delivery and they said it would take 45 minutes. After I waited TWO hours for my food I called and asked where it was and they said they tried calling me because they couldn't find my house. Turns out, they wrote my address and phone number down wrong. The guy who answered the phone said he talked to the manager and they would have my food over right away. After another 40 minutes my food arrived and it was burnt to a crisp from reheating and the fries were soggy. Incredibly disappointed in the management of this restaurant. My husband and I ordered a pizza 15 minutes after the rest of my family and got our 35 minutes before them. They waited over an hour for pizza and when I asked if we could get a discount or refund for the wait the manager (with a multi-colored headband) was incredibly rude and snapped back at me. The ONLY good thing about this place was the cook named Chad. He was incredibly gracious and kind throughout the whole ordeal and should be the manager because he carries himself with a level headed maturity unlike the manager and even rushed to assure us he would personally bring the pizzas over. I had the pleasure of eating here several times recently for both dinner and lunch and enjoyed each of the menu items that I tried on each occasion. I am a foodie and particular even about pizza but the quality of the cheeses, toppings, sauce and crust were excellent. The camaraderie enjoyed by the employees made it an enjoyable experience to come in, sit at the bar and watch them prepare my meals. Service was efficient and the restaurant is clean. I have eaten at the second New York Pizza in Aspen many times over the years and there is no longer any reason to schlepp into Aspen for pizza, calzone or a great sandwich when I'm in town. read more

If I could go here everyday, I would. The pizza in NYC doesn't quite level up to this place. They have a restaurant in Aspen as well, but as a local, I hate putting up with the Aspen employee's entitled behavior. I've met many friends here... It's the perfect place to get social. The staff is professional while still being fun. They have a certain air in their relationships with their co-workers and customers that is enjoyable to watch. Great pizza place. We were in the area for a week, enjoying the scenery, hiking and fly fishing, and we ended up eating at this place a few times. The pizza was very good each time and the staff is also very cool. Nothing fancy but the (thin) crust is good, the ingredients seem fresh, and the toppings all were tasty. Everyone in our party agreed the pizza was darn tasty. As a bonus the dude up-sized our pies for no extra charge. Folks working there were all very nice and they had good beer on tap, including some very nice local craft brews. *First and for most I want to thank everyone at NY Pizza who is working and serving us food during this difficult and challenging time.* On that note, I am a permanent resident of Basalt that encourages the patronage of our local food establishments, regardless of the circumstances, because I understand how negative economic situations can ruin a small business. I am very disappointed by my most recent visit. My girlfriend, preordered a pizza for pickup at 17:15 tonight, my order was not completed until 17:55. In addition to this, I was rudely advised to wait in my car until my order was completed and that my order would be hand delivered to my vehicle. Unfortunately, the server forgot and the pizza waited on top of the oven until I went in to inquire the status of my order. Take it for what it's worth it's seem that the night time staff is just rude and doesn't want to be there. I'm sure hope the ownership doesn't condone this kind of inter action with the customer. read more
