At the vaporetto stop, Rialto Mercato, they have what is called the Fruit Market and the Fish…read moreMarket. I know them well because the fish guys smelled up the street below where I stayed and they were up around 4 in the morning to set up their stalls and move the ice, etc. Lots of fish varieties, not so many stalls in August, maybe more at other times of the year. The fruit market has this Italian seller and they are very nice people, I really loved going there every day. Everything was fresh and reasonable and they were the only stall that was Italian and had variety. The other 5 stalls were just duplicates of each others and had little variety and run by foreign guys, not much to say here about their stuff. This stall had a lot of variety, wish I took a picture to show you. They have 10 times what a typical grocery store has in fresh fruits and vegetables. Superb place!!!
