I had a check engine light that came on and I was out of state. It was easy to schedule an appointment on a Sunday. The gentleman behind the counter came right outside and diagnosed my car within 5 mins! FOR FREE!!! It gave me the peace of mind I could drive 600 miles home without issues, which I did. There was no pressure to do any service. Everyone was nice, polite and I was in/out in 20 minutes with a diagnosis of a catalytic converter failure. THANK YOU!! read more

Came in an hour and a half before their closing to get a tire plugged due to a nail in the tire. I waited almost 30 minutes before someone came to the counter. When I explained why I was there they turned me away without explanation as to why even though it was well before closing. I further questioned why I couldn't be helped and the employee became aggressive and telling me to leave which I started to before what I assume was a manager finally came out and explained they were "busy" and couldn't help me. Also figured since they couldn't do it I would buy a tire repair/plug kit and attempt myself which when I walked over half the store was blocked off and inaccessible to customers. No obvious construction or maintenance happening. So who knows, wouldn't recommend. read more

I would not recommend this business. They told me my car needed a new alternator and it did not. I took my car for a new battery and they called to tell me it needed an alternator as well. They were charging $1302 for the alternator in addition to $259.00 for the battery. Pep Boys also tried to scare me telling me if I took my car with just a new battery, I should drive it straight home,not drive it and bring it back in the morning. I called my car dealer and asked them to check it out . Thank goodness I did!! Alternator tested absolutely fine and I did NOT need one. I will not return for any type of service here. read more

PEP BOYS Warminster recently replaced my car battery. Everything went fine, but looking at the invoice, later, I had questioned some of the charges. Spoke with Daniel, the manager of the Service Department. He listened to my issues, and went out of his way to help explain. He was courteous and understanding. He also explained that some of the recent negative Yelp reviews were under different management. He refunded what I had asked him for. I'm very pleased with prompt attention and service. Don't go here!!!! Absolutely horrible!!! Employees are rude, work doesn't get completed in the time frame they give you, and they treat you like it's your fault they are horrible people. Thanks Jeremiah for showing every customer in the store his colors. He is an azz hat!! Jeremiah likes to yell at customers who ask questions. A 2 hr job turned into 3, and so on. After 2 hrs I stepped in the bay to check on the car. They had installed 2 tires in the 2 hrs it was in the bay. Well it took 3 hrs, 21 minutes to install tires!!! I needed an oil change. Found this place nearby. Appointments can be made on their website. It allowed me to make a 8am appointment but on Sunday the business hours starts at 9am. Reviews have been mostly negative for this location. I am giving them 3 stars for allowing appoitments to be made online (Cool!) and also for potentially not meeting my appoitment time. I will show up at 7:30am and provide an update on my experience. ******* 8:00am, manager is in the store but store is not open until 9am. 2 stars for allowing appoitments to be made at 8am. ******* 8:30am, lots of people stopping at the store and they all thought that the store opens at 8am. I guess I am not the only one. ****** 9:00am, store is opened. Brad checked me in from the Service desk. He told me that the Pep Boys website couldn't adjust to the opening time on Sunday so it allowed appointments to be made at 8am. No issues so far. 3 stars. ****** 10:00am, as promised by Brad (by 9:45am), the car was ready to go. I was late as I was walking the shopping center next door. Tom, who processed the release work got me out of there in 5 minutes. ****** Overall, no problems with service at this Pep Boys location. I've had several experiences with Pepboys. While it is a chain store I find them to be reliable and fix whatever the issue is. I can't speak much on cost but the customer service is really good and they are nice people. I went in today to purchase a lightbulb for a break light. The kid told me if I couldn't install it myself I could come back later that day and he would pop it in for me as a favor. He even looked up the type of bulb I needed without giving me grief and came to look at my car to double check. He ended up doing me a favor and putting it in anyway which to me is above and beyond his call of duty. read more

Late June of this year we brought our car into PepBoys for tire rotation and oil change. My husband picked up th car and was going to replace the front brakes. He recognized when trying to remove the wheel that the Lug nut had been cross threaded and subsequently broke off. He returned to Pep Boys and they agreed to fix at no charge. When we received the car back there was no time to change brakes because we were headed out of town for the July 4 holiday. On our return , there was vibration from the tire , which was concerning . When the tire literally fell off our car while we were driving on the highway , it was a miracle that we weren't in a more serious car accident. We had to have the car towed and we brought it to Pep Boys. They refused to service the car and said that it was not their fault because they have a tape of the job and it was "excellent ". Firstly, if I could give this zero stars, I would. My husband had a 12 PM appointment at the Pep Boys in Warminster, PA. Unfortunately, my husband didn't think to hand over his keys. Well, chalk one up for Mr. Forgetful. Here's the thing, though... I expect the professional who works on cars for a living to know, first-hand, to ask for the keys to the car with which they need to perform the inspection. They did not do this. So my husband left to kill time. At about 1 PM, according to Pep Boys' auto manager, Leo, the service technician contacted my husband on his phone, but my husband did not pick up (this is because his phone didn't ring). Also, apparently, the technician left a voice mail, and that's all she wrote. They didn't try to call back, just left a voice mail - at 1 PM. Let me remind you - the APPOINTMENT WAS AT 12 PM. Not 12.01 PM, not 12:15 PM, and certainly NOT 1 PM! When I was a young girl, I took my car to Pep Boys (Bensalem, PA) to get my tires rotated - they didn't tighten the lug nuts, and I drove home like that. Since then, I've heard countless horror stories about Pep Boys, but my husband had to take it there; it's his day off and he needed to fit it in. Otherwise, we'd have taken it to a competent auto repair place. We rolled the dice and lost. The manager, Leo, tried to back-paddle his way out of this and blame my husband for not leaving the keys, so allow me to reiterate: 1) My husband dropped our car off 15 minutes prior to the 12 PM appointment. Nobody asked for his keys; my husband is a skilled-care RN with A LOT on his plate, so okay... he didn't think to offer his keys. But AGAIN: I expect the CAR PROFESSIONAL to know to ask for the damned keys! 2) The technician called my husband at 1 PM (an hour AFTER the appointment), and left a voice mail saying they didn't have the keys. Let me repeat that: The technician CALLED MY HUSBAND AT 1 PM, AN HOUR after THE APPOINTMENT, to say they didn't have the keys. **What good, I ask you, does this do anybody??? And this bonus I got for you: The kid working the desk at Pep Boys Warminster, PA, couldn't read our insurance card. LOL! Right? So my husband emailed it to him, TWICE! (the kid gave the wrong email address the first time. I mean, duh!) Okay, so my husband, fortunately, found a better location (luckily), and that kid had NO PROBLEM whatsoever reading our insurance card. Ha ha... this experience reminds me of when I went to the post office in Richboro, PA years ago; I had my assistant ship a package off for an auction, and lo and behold, the package showed up on MY doorstep. Now, I attached CLEAR To: and From: instructions to that package to ensure it was addressed right (I didn't want to take any chances). But, nonetheless, it was sent back to my house. I had 2 days to get it to the auction site by then. So I went to the post office, and I was just beginning to explain my plight, politely, I might add. I began, "Hi, how are you? I'm a little upset because..." I was suddenly cut off by the surly, disgruntled man behind the counter who rudely said to me, "Well, that's because we expect you to know what you're doing!" Note: I didn't even get an opportunity to explain why I was upset, and seeing as how my tone was polite, a stable person might not have responded so nastily. At any rate.... this Pep Boys experience reminded me of that post office visit because I EXPECT THE EMPLOYEE TO KNOW WHAT TF THEY'RE DOING! Why is it MY job? Sure... It helps when the customer knows what's up (and to be fair, I sent the package off with clear instructions that the postal worker ignored, but whatever). I can't tell you to stay away from Pep Boys Warminster, or Pep Boys, period, but... stay away from them. They screwed us, seeing as how we're out of a car until it gets inspected, and instead of accepting the responsibility and offer some kind of succor, we got nothing but blamed for their error. Terrible customer services. I was there on 2.7.2021 for oil change and state inspection. My appt was for 3:30 and I got a call to see if I could take my car earlier which I did. I was there around 12pm and by 6:30pm my car wasn't ready! They only did the inspection and forgot the oil change! I will never take my car there again. They are not a charity organization! So the services are not free for them to waste your time. They don't treat customers with respect. Horrible experience. read more

I was there this week with my daughters car. She needed an inspection which went well. We also ask them to check out the radiator since she had a brief problem with the engine overheating light turning on. The evaluation of the Cooling system cost $35. They topped off the coolant and told us that there was a hole in the water pump and it needed to be replaced. They also said that the radiator hoses and thermostat needed to be replaced and the coolant system needed to be flushed. All of that was going to cost nearly $1700. We ended up taking the car to three different mechanics for different opinions. None of them charged us to look at the cooling system and all three of them told us that there was no hole and no problem with the cooling system or the water pump. I guess they thought a 16-year-old would be easy to rip off. We will definitely not be going back. read more

I had to jump-start my wife's car yesterday morning when it wouldn't start. I took it to Pep Boys Warminster and was told that I needed a battery, and alternator and a serpentine belt. The cost would be $1,017. I called my personal mechanic at another location, and he told me to bring the car to him for him to check it out. I told the Pep Boys manager that I would be taking the car out. He offered to lower the cost of the repair to $850. I took the car to my mechanic, and after checking the battery and alternator, he said that they were both fine. He just needed to clean off the corrosion that had built up on the positive battery terminal. He said that the reason the car had not started that morning was either the corrosion, or that a door had remained open overnight and drained the battery. I have used Pep Boys in the past, but have never experienced this type of scam before. I will not go to them again. P.S. The car started up perfectly this morning. read more

I took my Volkswagon Jetta here to have an oil change on 8/25/22. I was offered a discount to reschedule the previous day because the wait was going to be long. I still waited 2 hours for my oil to be changed even though I rescheduled. A week later my dad saw my car was leaking a significant amount of oil and I noticed large oil spots in my driveway. My dad got under my car to see what the problem was- everytime we would turn the car on, oil would come spewing out. My dad removed the filter and there was a hole it in, they also didn't even screw the protective cover back on completely. I took the filter back to the store and a manager was not available but the worker there proceeded to tell me that the filter we removed was not the brand they use?? He told me he would have the manager call me because I was asking for a refund which he did not give me. It's been 3 days and I have yet to hear from a manager. Really need to work on quality work and improve customer service drastically. I waited on a simple battery replacement needing only an hour 1/2 and they then later tacked in some additional jobs at the last minute needing less than 1 hour time. Waited over 3 hours! Other than that, the service is good. They just need to be better at communicating and providing better customer service. I believe if an organization is going to consistently get good marks, they must be exceptional. Anything below exceptional isn't good enough for me. read more

After almost two decades as a customer, I will never go back. A simple repair of a tire with a nail and a tire rotation turned into a nightmare! When picking up the vehicle I noticed the tires had not been rotated. No mention of this when I arrived. I guess they figured I wouldn't notice. I spoke to the tech who worked on it and he agreed to perform the rotation. He seemed to have a lot of trouble with the front driver side tire and I discovered he stripped the lug nut. He also stripped the wheel stud, but wouldn't admit it. Another tech got a new lug nut and after many attempts he claim he was able to secure it. Meanwhile the original tech seemed to be having a lot of trouble. I noticed he lowered the car back on the ground and began to tighten several very loose lug nuts on while on the ground. My experience is you always snug all the nuts on while in the air and then just finish tightening on the ground. Another tech came by as he was finishing the job and starting yelling that he should not have rotated as it is a free service and that he did not recommend putting tires with more thread on the front. I have been rotating tires on this car for 8 years, just as the manufacturer recommends. This is total BS! Later that evening while driving the car I noticed the front wheels making noise, especially while turning. I brought the car in my garage and found 8 lug nuts were loose and I could easily turn by hand! The wheel where they stripped the stud and lug nut now had a broken stud. To put it simply I was livid. I went back immediately the next morning when they opened and I fully expected they would certainly own up to what happened and correct the problem. When I first spoke to the manager Leo, he seemed open minded and willing to listen. That changed as we spoke as the tech that insisted the tires not be rotated try to insinuate that I was not being truthful. Before bringing the car back I tightened all the lug nuts with the exception of the one they broke. Somehow doing this made my story not believable to them. What did they expect, I drive there with the nuts loose and maybe lose a tire and cause an accident? I asked "why would I make this up?" In the end, Leo would not take any responsibility and told me the repair would be a ridiculous amount of $211 to replace the wheel stud and lug nut. Again, I was livid. I could not believe he was going to charge me for damage that they did. He knew they put a new lug nut on which really did not fix the problem since the stud was still stripped. He asked me if I wanted the repair or should he just back it out of the shop. I told him to back it out! Later that day I brought the car to Mavis and they did the repair for $53 with tax! Even with putting my family at risk, if they would have just taken responsibility and corrected the problem, they would have kept me as a customer. Apparently, it was more important to them to make me out as the "bad guy" which I assured them I was not! read more

I usually go to Advance Auto Parts on York rd and they're friendly and quick with my order pickup. Every time I've been in to pick something up at this Pep Boys the people at the pickup counter have been rude and lazy. The one time the guy didn't even print the order pickup tag and attach it so I had to explain it was an order pickup to the cashier in the front and she had to do everything. This last time I came in and said hello and the guy just stared at me so I said I'm here for an order pickup and gave him my name. I said thanks at the end and he said nothing. Even most kids and animals have better manners. Honestly you're at work I'm not asking to be your friend but at least be courteous otherwise there are plenty of other auto parts stores where the people actually do the simplest thing and greet the customers and treat them like human beings. read more

Beware!!I was told my vehicle was done. When I arrived to pick it up I noticed it looked like it never moved. I paid over $100 for synthetic oil change service. That's a little more than normal but everything is increasing i figured. They never installed the reminder sticker and reset the oil timer so I went in to ask if they could. He said oh we where a little busy sorry. Turns out my vehicle did not get a oil change at all after i was told it was completed. I asked the guy why is the oil is black. He told me that's the sludge in bottom of pan?? I was also charged for a fuel stabilizer that was not asked for or even put in. The excuse was it's recommended every 15000 miles. But did not ask me if i wanted it. He asked for my paperwork. Should of got refund and left right away.They proceeded to pull in vehicle make we wait for 45 minutes then changed my oil and sad sorry..How many times have they got away with this before? What if I just left and didn't go back in and drove another 5000 miles on the old oil? Like how do you not perform a service and charge for it? I called prior to going here and they told me they could fit me right in for an inspection. I was there in 5 mins and they told me it would be 1.5-2 hours. I said that was fine and went to the adjacent shopping plaza. They said they would call if any issues. About two hours later I hadn't heard from them so I decided to walk back over. The guy told me that the man buying my car I gotten a bigger job and it had taken more time. Needless to say they hadn't even started on my car. I was furious as I had just wasted two hours of my day waiting for my car that I thought was being worked on. I got at the counter apologized and asked me when I like to reschedule and I just walked out. the least they could've done what I've been to call me to tell me this. Very poor service!!! read more
